Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

Sending Beltane blessings with my 8pm flame. speakout that picture is beautiful, redolent of our collective energy.

Welcome Verbena87, a lovely time to join us by the fire Halloween Smile

I think even tending to clothes imbues energy. I am not a knitter or a dressmaker. I have sewn sigils into my DDs student nurse uniforms while sewing up hems.
I use moon water or storm water in washing machine- a few drops, and when cleaning clothes for my family it is done with loving inention.

I have my Beltane flame burning too- a red candle- in celebration of the ferocity of the female spirit, and the meeting of souls on this thread.

Beltane blessings beautiful sisters. Dance around the fire, wander barefoot through the woodlands, swim in the ocean (even if only in spirit!) May this be the start of something new for you all.

Speakout I agree about tending clothes (and environmentally it’s vital. I am toying with the idea of what would happen if I didn’t make or buy any more but just altered and mended what I have for the next couple of years)

Hills bugger about the moths. Currently have a freezer drawer full of Shetland 2-ply though I suspect it is wretched carpet beetles here 😖.

It’s nice thinking of your candles glimmering somewhere out there all - I am starting fertility treatment for a second baby once my period arrives and feeling crampy with spotting today - feels fitting that my cycle might start at Beltane and finish before/around the solstice, although the failure rates are alarming and I’m trying to just be in the moment and not race ahead of myself.

Hope everyone has a lovely one.

Suck lovely words, thank you. Sending you love and gratitude for this wonderful space you created for us all.

hilariousnamehere · 01/05/2021 01:31

Beltane blessings, sisters - I am lighting a slightly strangely timed candle because I'm all out of kilter, but I am as always grateful to be part of this space and sisterhood. Sometimes the internet is magic!

BlankTimes · 01/05/2021 02:03

Beltane Blessings sisters, may the flames of the Bel fire nourish and enrich you whilst your intentions for the next phase of the year are brought into being with strength and clarity.

Hills I've heard that Lavender Essential Oil repels moths, maybe worth trying as long as you keep it directly off your yarn as it could stain.
Bags of lavender flowers were commonly hung in wardrobes to repel any moths, so again worth a try, although the only time I can smell them is when they are gently crushed.

I have lavendar sachets and cedar blocks already. But i also have a carpet in an area that is prone. That carpet is coming up this weekend. No idea how or with what time. But it needs to go. I have both cedar and lavendar essential oil. So i will be refreshing things, although i do need to pick up some fine sand paper.

The freezing just kills the eggs off so they don't hatch, as it is the larvae that does most the damage. I also have a chemical spray.

Carpet beatle is also an issue and i have been seeing them more recently. Tbh i would bug bomb the house if it wasn't for the fish. So we do the best we can. And a good old fashioned deep clean in all corners is definitely something that will help.

Verbena87 that book is
The return of Odin: The modern renaissance of pagan imagination by Richard Rudgley - delves in to the various interpretations and how many symbols co-opted in the ww2 in particular apparently.

Right, anyone know some magical motivation enhancers for encouraging you to tackle the massive mountains of paperwork that are threatening to cascade their way out of the door? Apparently i am really good at paperwork organisation at work only, my home paperwork is a disaster and I just don't want to. lol

LunaNorth · 01/05/2021 09:40

It’s Beltane! Of course it is.

I found myself making my porridge skyclad this morning, and wondered what had come over me Smile

It all makes sense now. Beltane blessings, all. I plan to spend mine in the garden.

HillsBesideTheSea · 01/05/2021 17:08

Well i have successfully annoyed something. There have been a few metaphorical universe slaps to the head today. And if plates and cups continue breaking at the rate they have I am going to end up with no dishes to eat off. we have too many cups, we'd be fine for cups Hmm

CarmelBeach · 01/05/2021 20:03

Lurker
Just wanted to share Beltane blessings and thanks for the lovely thread x

hilariousnamehere · 01/05/2021 22:03

I spent Beltane on the water and will probably suffer for it tomorrow but it has done my spirits the world of good. I hope you've all had a lovely day, whatever it's held.

Hills fingers crossed for no more breakages!

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 01/05/2021 22:07

Wishing you all Beltane blessings!

speakout · 02/05/2021 06:50

I hope everyone has found some renewal energy in the turn of the great wheel.
Sad that so many groups and events could not happen, and has renewed my vigour to attend next year's Beltane Fire festival in my city- a huge event that takes over the centre for the night. We are a pagan lot up here!

Speakout yes it's a shame about all the events that couldn't go ahead. Let's keep everything crossed that next year is different!

Hilariousnamehere sounds like a lovely day, being near water is so restorative isn't it? You say 'on the water', were you rowing? That always looks like hard work!

Hills oh goodness, it does sounds like someone is trying to get your attention! I had similar last year, household appliances breaking left, right and centre! I hope things calm down soon.

I'm loving the Beltane energy. I spent yesterday wandering around a nearby city with some friends. We enjoyed a coffee and cake in the sunshine and went for a walk along the river. It was good to see lots of people out and about, and very pretty with blossom in the trees and spring flowers everywhere. In the evening I went for a walk at the local nature reserve where there is a large pond. I always like to go and visit the swans and ducks. The female swan has been nesting so I haven't seen her for a while, but yesterday she was proudly showing off a brood of eight fluffy cygnets!

YarnOver · 02/05/2021 18:04

Im not a witch or Pagan. I'm not anything. But then if I was to label myself with anything as to what I believe in, it would be Pagan. I believe very strongly in the power of the elements and deeper human connections. I don't know if I'm allowed to join this chat but I've enjoyed reading!

BlankTimes · 02/05/2021 18:15

Hi YarnOver, have a cushion by the fire (chilly day again) and help yourself to a cuppa.

We're not fussed about categories of beliefs or non-beliefs here, if what we discuss here and the general ambiance appeal to you, then that's fine by us Halloween Smile

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 02/05/2021 18:52

Nice to see you Yarnover.

There is always tea in the pot and a warm welcome here.

speakout · 02/05/2021 19:09

YarnOver a warm welcome.

No labels are required here, if is feels comfy to you then grab a cosy spot.

YarnOver I think we’re in the same boat re labels (and knitting habits, based on your name - what’s on your needles?). Nice to meet you.

:) I crochet and currently it is a 12 point star blanket made of a lovely 4ply cotton colour changing cake yarn. Im nearly finished but have also started another of the exact same thing in a different colour set! What about you?
HillsBesideTheSea · 02/05/2021 19:36

Your project sounds lovely Yarnover Welcome

Is it just me that finds when there is a lot of energy about they just end up feeling tired and discombobulated? I know it is supposed to be a good thing there is energy to draw on, but it just seems to overwhelm me.

Verbena87 · 02/05/2021 20:53

Ooooh YarnOver that sounds lovely. I can’t seem to wrap my head around crochet - currently knitting the first sleeve of a fair isle jumper and dreading having to do it all over again 😂.

Hills yes, me. I’m rattled and knackered.
