So many great suggestions for anxiety here, I will keep a note for future use!
I have a joiner coming to finish the work in the back of my garden today, so need to be up and prepared for his arrival.
Also means that I will be tied to the house today, as I need to be on hand in case he needs me for decisions- " how high", "this way or that" etc, plus to make the odd cup of tea!
No bad thing though- I need to make candles, almost run out of anxiety- so will make a batch. As TotoAnnihiliation mentions, the oils sooth, and working with chamomile and lavender will calm my mind. Also the act of working with molten wax is very therapeutic.
I will send some of the calm though a flame today, for anyone feeling jangled after a difficult week.

That would be appreciated Speakout yesterday really confirmed the decisions on the job but in a manner that was extreme to the point I nearly walked out mid way through the day. I didn't but it has affected my sleep and now I have an over tired stress migraine. And a lot of stuff that has to get done today.

Aerwyna · 24/04/2021 13:47

You’ve inspired me speakout. I know how divine your anxiety ease candles are- so soothing. I’m going to have a salt bath with lavender and camomile later! I can imagine your home is filled with such beautiful calming energy. I’m just catching up a bit with the thread and can really relate to the theme of mistakes, forgetfulness and dreadful driving! It warmed my heart to hear of your DS’ empathy, insight and compassion. So beautiful.

Violet, I found the energy post you shared very interesting too, thank you. Also what you say about the comfort of mundane tasks. Sometimes when I’ve been struggling, Ive noticed I feel
soothed by cooking the evening meal, it feels grounding somehow. I hope you’ve had a good week off even if it’s hard to sit still!

Toto I like your description of a mindful shower as a calming process- I felt soothed just reading it! I agree, there’s something very grounding and connective about walking around barefoot.

Hills that does sound difficult, is this a job that you are leaving? I hope your head eases and that there are pockets of peace somewhere in your day

A day of pottering here today, it’s bright and windy again. It was good to see the sea yesterday, I love the way the pebbles look as the water laps over them on the shore.

Love to all for a restorative weekend

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/04/2021 14:21

It was a job that I had decided that I would aim to leave in the summer ish time, yes. I was at a point where i was getting ready for a new channel. Now i am very done.

Thankfully some wise people who know the situation has given the confirmation that I suspected and I need to try to move this transition sooner. Issue is I am not super woman and have no idea how to manage everything all at once which was why i had the original time scale.

My head is not great but good enough to be productive. I plan to take a sleep aid tonight simply because everything is always worse when tired and I am going to need to be functioning next week.

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/04/2021 21:24

Sometimes we just need to be in the garden and have our hands in dirt. There might be veg after all. Even if I plan to grow spagetti squash up the wall where cucumber was grown last year.

My hands are suffering from all the alcohol gel/hand washing stuff so I am hoping that tomorrow I will be able to put to use some herb infused olive oil to make a salve I can apply as needed when at work. I think there might be some intention worked into it too. Calm and balance I think would work with the herbs I have prepped. Calendula and camomile.
Any suggestions on what you would mix in intentions wise to such a salve?

I hope that you have all had the opportunity to find a little nature, breathe in a lung full of air, and just be. May your sleep be restorative and your sunday treat you gently.

Magic tea pot is topped up with water and ready for those in need.

Aerwyna · 24/04/2021 21:42

I can relate to that ‘very done’ feeling Hills, if nothing else it’s clarifying and helps with detachment and determination I think. Sorry to hear the timing is more difficult though. Pleased to hear you got out in the garden today, great earthing. Your salve plans sound wonderful, infused with calm and balance. Very healing too.

Driving home today, I found myself taking the turning towards the river instead. Such a tonic to sit and breathe in the flow of it. Very soothing. Wishing everyone a peaceful evening

hilariousnamehere · 24/04/2021 23:09

Hills your salve sounds wonderful - maybe some determination in there too, intention wise? I love the idea of remembering those intentions each time you apply it.

Sorry about the job situation - I hope you can bring leaving forward without too much hassle and stress.

Thank you all for your wonderful remedies and spells and suggestions - I've added them all to my filofax so they're on hand when I need them. Toto I'm particularly taken with your description of a grounding, calming shower - I've always thought of showers as doing and baths as being, if that makes any kind of sense, so will be trying this new perspective Grin

I'm feeling much calmer and have crossed stuff off my enormous list, and had good news from mum's procedure so things are looking up!

Loving the beautiful images and nature energy too - a perfect way to see in Sunday!

speakout · 25/04/2021 06:30

Good morning friends.
HillsBesideTheSea your salve sounds wonderful, and it is good to hear you have plans which will make your life a little easier. Sometimes we have to grasp that nettle.
Aerwyna I love that photograph, it is so full of calm energy, the muted colours are stunning. Glad to hear you are taking time to honour your divine.
hilariousnamehere good news about your mum, a weight less to carry, yes I find water very soothing and therapeutic too. Can calm, energise, comfort, whether it is a quick invigorating shower, a cool cleansing on a hot day, a comforting long soak. It is good to feel your positive energy.
Yesterday was a point of turn for me, after a week feeling anxious, paper thin and frustrated my rubber bands relaxed and I have had a deep long sleep, feeling much restored.
I have to work today- a slow pace, and a visit to the supermarket.
Thankfully the church doesn't pay a visit via zoom on a Sunday morning since physically re-opening ( a religous family member) and also gives me a couple of hours to cleanse my home in private.
Wishing calm light energy to my sisters.

Good morning
Hills the job situation sounds stressful, but I'm pleased you now have made a decision about what you want to do. Sometimes the mental uncertainty and turmoil you go through while making that decision can be almost more stressful that the situation itself. Your day in the garden sounds like the perfect tonic and the salve sounds wonderful, just what you need to heal those worn out hands.

Aerwyna thank you for sharing the river photo, such wonderful energy. I'm so pleased you made it to your happy place.

Hilariousnamehere good news about your Mums procedure and well done on ticking some jobs off the list - it's a good feeling isn't it?

Speakout I hope you enjoy a peaceful morning. I'm really pleased to hear that the anxiety has lifted and you're feeling rested.

I too enjoyed a deep, restorative sleep. I spent yesterday afternoon in the garden with a group of female friends. It's so good to be with the people we love again after all this time, I feel uplifted by their friendship and the laughter we shared.

I'm off to the gym now to work off some of the calories from yesterday! This afternoon I'm meeting DM for a dog walk, I'm hoping we'll find some bluebells in the woods.

Blessings to you all for a peaceful and happy Sunday.

The whole situation is a bit of a pickle. I knew I was going, I had a plan and a time line, I was already doing the background prep work at work. So the whole thing was like being force to jump off a cliff, instead of following the gentle path down. Honestly I am not sure how certain things can be brought forward because I want full time hours but am committed to 1 day a week for studies that run til the summer. But apparently I need to have a little faith it will work out. Whether it will work out without running me into the ground is what worries me tbh.

I have more stuff to do in the garden, more then plenty to do around the house. And a few errands to run. So I am going to rest my body an brain as much as possible right now and start work on it all next week. Should give the subconcious a little time to work on the situation for me.

I am considering a few other magical things to help me get through the work day. Reflective, protection etc. So I may well worth on those later too.

speakout · 25/04/2021 18:47

I had to share this-

This is a message for my:
sister-empaths
sister-poets
my sister-prophets
my sister-seers, healers
and for my sister wolves.
A message for the Matriarchy that holds the world together.
I’m talking to you!
Through time, and past space
I have come such a very long way to share this moment with you now.
I feel you rumbling through the deep of me
You hearing this message today or any day
you are why I am.
You have made me,
called me forth out of infinite possible forms
into this gritty and wild young world
just for what is happening,
right now,
in this holy instant.
I have trembled with you,
against the blanket of a dark velvet sky
and watched the twinkling of your own glory
standing fast against the darkness
blazing fearlessly in the might of your own glory
and the glory of that which created you.
You! Listening…
You! Reading…
I knew we’d meet again,
at the turning of the tides
in the death throes of a flailing dragon
crashing burning itself alive
falling to piles of dust that will become mountains
in another age.
And here we are
at the changing of the guard
at the first crack of dawn
in the twilight of the world.
And here we are
setting fires
blazing recklessly
raging hard
with the fierceness of all the women
who came before us
all the women,
who will come next.
For this we have done what was necessary to
unbury
the
light
that will not go out.
We will not hide it;
we will sing out holy songs."

A bit of a broken day again here.

But led me to the old idea of "waulking" when thinking if his thread.
Waulking is an old tradition in the Celtic Fringes of Europe where women get together, sing, share a task and energy. In this case softening wool, woven from hardy sheep and needing processing and perhaps felting.
This idea is global and historical, so by no means confined to certain areas of old Europe. I have seen similar energy and song in planting harvesting, processing food, hulling, planting, singing while weaving. Woman’s work.
Poorly documented, as it isn’t “history” video resouses are scarce. But I imagine such activities have been happening since Neolithic times Skip over the first 20 seconds of the video- a 40s slant!!

Oh wow speakout! That is so powerful, I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us

Aerwyna · 25/04/2021 19:18

That’s fascinating about the waulking too speakout, not something I’d heard of by name. Makes me think, as you describe, that women have always found ways to generate collective energy when working together in ‘traditional’ roles. Earthy, uplifting and connective stuff. Beautiful.

TotoAnnihiliation · 25/04/2021 19:19

@HillsBesideTheSea I am also thinking of some protection to get me through my work day. I'm on your final stretch of my pgce and I have been put with a mentor who has very high standards.

I have every confidence that I am going to smash this and meet her approval but I think a little protection for me won't go amiss. I am a sensitive soul and relentless feedback and criticism is getting me down.

I'm seeing myself in a permanent sun beam to give myself some protection. I'm also going to make a purchase from @speakout's shop to help me on the way.

I am sending you some of the energy that I a building up within me through a flame this evening.

Zooming by on the broomstick, can't stop ...

Waulking was featured in Outlander in the early series, think they were sat around a table fixing dye into to fabric using urine.

Don't forget to look out for the Pink supermoon tomorrow night

Zooms off into the starry night ...

I typed a long post last night and managed to lose the lot - so frustrating!

Speakout thank you for sharing those words. Very powerful indeed.
I've not heard the term 'waulking', but I love the idea. When women come together as collective, amazing things can happen. I was listening to a podcast the other day about women living in refugee camps. These women have fled from war-torn countries with their children and nothing but the clothes on their backs, yet they can be found organising dance and yoga classes, singing groups, hair dressing, threading...working together to build a community. So inspirational.

Hills and Toto sending you both strength and protection for the week ahead.

Blanktimes thank you for the reminder about tonight's pink moon. The sky should be clear tonight so I'm hoping to get a good view.

As always, Kirsty Gallagher has some wise words about the Scorpio full moon, so I thought I'd share them for anyone who doesn't follow her -

Here she comes. You may have felt this full moon building for days and wild is one of the ways that I am going to use to describe it!

This Scorpio full moon is here to illuminate the shadows and anything that you have been hiding from, ignoring, not dealing with or sweeping under the carpet over the last year.

There can be no hiding anything under a Scorpio full moon. Anything that is not working in your life will be obvious and your emotions will be like tidal waves leading you towards what needs to be uncovered and seen. As always please pay close, close attention to what you are feeling the most emotional, frustrated or anxious about in your life as these are the areas that need some shift, change or transformation.

What you may find quite strongly over this full moon is that you know that you are ready to make changes in certain areas of your life, but you don’t know what or how. “I don’t know what to do” may have become somewhat of a mantra and things may feel a bit confusing and uncertain.

As much as there is going to be a sense of wanting to make some changes this full moon is a cosmic pause. You are being asked to really work through what you are currently feeling, experiencing and going through. You are being asked to trust in yourself.

Under this full moon it’s time to go under the surface, to go within before you share too much of yourself out into the world. This is a time to reflect, slow down and go inward to build firm roots and foundations first and foremost in yourself before the world out there pulls you back into the fast lane of life and we become indoctrinated in the world of “busy” once more.

Oh! This resonated a lot, thank you Violet Grin

TotoAnnihiliation
I will join you at 8pm to support your sunbeam energy.
VioletCharlotte thanks for posting that information abouthe pink full moon. So interesting to hear about the women's work in camps. Imagine what could be accomplished if women had a fair share in running the world....

I found the waulking scene from Outlander- it's quite short-

Hilariousnamehere great shot of the moon! You must have a good camera, I've given up with my iPhone as the results never do it justice.

I woke up at 2am, the moonlight was so bright it almost felt like daylight. She looked absolutely beautiful. I have my usual 'full moon headache' though. It's so weird, it always make me feel tired and dehydrated, almost like a hangover!
