Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

AnotherCrazyBirdLady like you, I've reached a point in my life now where I feel happy and appreciative for the life I have. I remember all the feelings of angst and guilt I experienced as a teenager and young Mum only too well. I think it's even worse for young people nowadays as social media just amplifies everything.

Speakout It's funny, I never wished I was a boy. I can remember being pleased I was a girl as I had a choice of wearing a skirt, a dress or trousers whereas my brother could only wear trousers, and I felt sorry for the boys as they couldn't wear make up to cover their spots! When I was at school, I was able to do woodwork and metal work, as well as cooking and textiles, the inequity between males and females was still there though, just more subtle. I didn't really see it until I got a bit older.

I've been to Glastonbury today with DS1. It's a place we both love and it was even more special this time as I don't see so much of him now he has his own place. We spent some time at Chalice Well, sitting in the gardens and soaking up the magical energy, and then enjoyed a browse around the quirky shops. A lovely way to end my week off.

Such deep wisdom and insight here, thank you all so much for all the food for thought, lightbulb moments and solidarity I feel reading all the posts.

Such a blessing to be amongst kindred spirits and to feel the fire in response to the impact of equality we have all experienced as girls and women. Feeling such resonance fills me with hope- what a powerful group of women we are. It’s a joy to be part of!

speakout · 02/07/2021 20:44

I will add my company to the fireside. In support and solidarity. Beautiful sisters and souls. I so value the friends I have met here.XX

I am still mulling over al the juicy chat here this week.
I have a magnet on my fridge door which has the Acronym JOY

Underneath reads the explanation

Jesus First
Others second
Yourself Last.

Enough said

Parking my broomstick and having a wow moment over how long I've had Hedgewitch!

A love it here too, it's so refreshing to listen to other sisters' experiences and daily practises, to share ideas and to suggest ways to solve and ease some situations.

There was an unusual reflection on my kitchen wall the other day, sometimes it's nice to take pleasure in small things. Halloween Smile

BlankTimes I love that picture. The colours refracted by the ball creating such a otherworldy shape.

It is getting darker by the minute here- electrical storms are forecast for tomorrow, and maybe even this afternoon. I get so excited by thunderstorms!
I have just noticed how wildly everything is growing this year in the garden and even in my house. My tomato seeds that I planted in March are now massive 8 foot high plants, real monsters, I have had to nip the tops as they have reached the ceiling! Covered in flowers now, I am doing my daily feather tickling to help pollinate.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

So far I've been doing the old fashioned elbow grease version of a declutter and deep clean which I already feel is making a difference.

I had hung onto a notebook that I'd written all my sad and rambling thoughts on while in psych hospital. It felt right to burn that outside.

I shall take a look at cleansing sprays on Etsy and definitely would like some more crystals related to mood stability and optimism for the future.

speakout · 03/07/2021 12:24

wheresmymojo

Glad you are feeling a little better.
It's quite easy to make cleansing/smudge spray.
I use a combination of things depending on my mood.
Rose water or orange flower water make a good base, you can pop a charged crystal in the bottle, use a few drops of moon water or storm water, essential oils etc.

Sorry I have been hopeless on the advice front lately!

Just flying in to share this pic of my garden in lush bloom - it's only small and half the time I have no idea what I'm doing, but it makes me very happy Halloween Grin

(Thank you BlankTimes, I'd forgotten about the hat emoji!)

I’m smiling in resonance reading what my dear sisters get out of our gathering- i love how you describe this BlankTimes, I feel the same Smile

Also still mulling over the juicy chat and absolutely speakout!! That fridge magnet really does epitomise much of the conditioning we’ve been untangling doesn’t it.

I love that reflection BlankTimes- it has a very ‘Fae Friday’ kind of vibe!

Wonderful to hear about the huge wild tomato plants, the power of space clearing and ritual burning, time spent in sacred places and the coming of a storm- I’m hoping we get one here too! Thank you for sharing so much magic- it helps me weave more of it into my own day. And a day infused with magic is a day that feeds the soul

Aerwyna · 03/07/2021 13:20

Your garden looks beautiful hilarious! A sanctuary full of your magic

VioletCharlotte · 03/07/2021 19:21

It's so good to hear how much you all love this thread - me too, I'm so grateful to each and everyone of you for the warm and nurturing energy you bring to this special place we have created for ourselves.

Blanktimes it's good to see you and thank you for sharing the photo, I love magical little moments like that too.

Hilariousnamehere your garden's beautiful, I agree with Aerwyna that it's a magical little space. I'm trying to create something similar with mine, but I'm not there yet! However, I'm proud of my hydrangeas and fuschia's, which are just about to burst into bloom.

TotoAnnihiliation · 03/07/2021 22:47

I love your garden @hilariousnamehere. I'm on a mission to plant some herbs and have a sensory scented garden.

As usual this chat is so in tune with how I'm feeling. I've been plagued by the smell of a beautiful herb for a couple of weeks. I'm going to the garden centre tomorrow, I'll be inhaling all the herbs until I find the one that's been following me around. I think there is a significance to it that will reveal itself in due course.

I have one hugely successful herb, it's a genuine Victorian sage that was originally planted and cared for my my great great grandfather. A cutting travelled 120 miles when my grandmother left home, then I had a cutting from that. It's a beautiful thought that the offsprings off the sage has been cared for by the offspring of the original gardener.

Daphnesmate07 · 03/07/2021 22:59

I've not visited this thread for a while. Just popping in and saw your wonderful garden hilariousname I've just started work on a small herb garden and like toto plan to have a sensory scented garden - your sage bush sounds wonderful Toto. Please let me know if you have any more thoughts after your visit to the garden centre. My favourite is still lavender and I have several established bushes already (in another area of the garden).

Not too far away (though a car journey) there is community herb garden. I believe a qualified herbalist leads the use of what's grown there and I would love to visit and lend a hand and learn more (pre-schooler starts pre-school in September, so I might have a chance). I have just been diagnosed with C-PTSD after several decades of misdiagnosis and the gardening and especially the growing of herbs is so calming and helpful to me. I definitely veer toward being a hedge witch.

I feel that even though my diagnosis has come late in the day (as I head rapidly toward 50) change is in the air (for the positive).

speakout · 04/07/2021 06:47

I am loving the garden chat too. I have been out yesterday tidying up and enjoying all the planting I did earlier in the year. I love the fact that plants bring wildlife too, providing shelter and food for insects and birds. I am still hoping for an electrical storm, I have containers ready to collect storm water and some crystals to cleanse.
Daphnesmate07 I am glad to hear of your healing. It is never oo late. Some of my significant healing has happened in the past few years, in my 50s. I also think healing has to be done at a time that is right- sometimes these things can't be rushed.
Another slow easy day here.
A spa shower, lime oil is calling me this morning, then some yoga and tarot followed by Danish pastries and tea.
I popped into Aldi yesterday, I adore the candles there, amazing throw, I have been using the Lime and Basil candle which is divine, but yesterday I bought the Peony jar- a very feminine scent. I also treated myself to a Rose facial oil I will try out this morning while I indulge myself.
They do say Sunday is a day of worship. What better day to spend worshipping the inner divine.
I pass blessings to my sister godesses here too, as I worship the inner I also worship the divine within you.

Oh speakout that is divine! I love it, I am

Aerwyna · 04/07/2021 10:09

Oops, posted too soon! I’m joining you in the day of worship speakout Namaste sisters! 🙏

I’m car less so no work for me this weekend- I’ll take myself for a walk and spend time in worship. Perfect.

I’m loving the garden/plant talk too- how magical to have your ancestral sage Toto

I love hydrangea and Fuchsia too Violet, I’m glad your garden is coming together, your magic weaved through it

Daphnesmate07 it’s good to see you and I agree with speakout’s wise words about healing happening at the right time for you. I’m glad you finally have a diagnosis that makes sense and love that you can feel that change in the air- a powerful force for healing.

speakout · 04/07/2021 11:59

Aerwyna your slow car-less weekend sounds restful. Just perfect.
I have just visited a garden centre this morning looking for plant ideas- I have some new planting space in my garden as a result of some work. Had a lovely conversation with a highly knowledgeble and enthusiastic member of staff who was giving me ideas.
Holly is now on the list, the idea of having all year colour and red berries for Yule is very appealing.

I am burning my new candle today in honour of all the amazing women on this thread.

Anyone have a thunderstorm yet?

I am watching the live tracking and see some parts of the UK are having storms, but not here yet. Needs to move just a touch to the North. It is very warm, humid and opressive, great laden clouds in the sky- so perfect conditions for brewing a storm.
Not that I am excited or anything!!

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 04/07/2021 18:11

No storm here yet speakout but I share your excitement and anticipation! Hope it’s made it’s way to you by now!

hilariousnamehere · 04/07/2021 19:15

Just a heavy rainstorm earlier but no proper storm yet :(

speakout · 04/07/2021 19:19

A small rumble and a heavy downpour- so no great excitement. At least the air feels fresh and cool.
I had time to have a walk in my Wolf Wood today, it was so verdant, cool, just at the high point of bursting green growth. Just magnificent. I walked for a short while- just 30 minutes or so- and as usual my heart was filled, no litter, not a single piece, the forest was pristine. That makes me so glad!

OP posts:
TotoAnnihiliation · 05/07/2021 07:12

No storms here, just lots of heavy intense showers.

My trip to the garden centre didn't help me identify the smell that has been following me around. The closest I found was chamomile, would the ladies of this thread have any suggestions on what it could be?

I did take home 4 new herbs. I look forward to tending to them and they bringing me joy in return.

speakout · 05/07/2021 07:18

TotoAnnihiliation what kind of smell?
Near your home? Do you have woods or forest close by or a meadow?
I know the woods near me are very heavy with the scent of wild garlic - but usually it's late spring when that is most intense.
My forest walk yeserday was mostly the smell of green, a few woody notes and heavy rain has stirred up soil and decomposing wood.
I was inhaling deep lungfuls of the fragrant air, both uplifting and calming.
Another wet overnight and more rain this morning. I have a yoga class at 9am today, so will be a good start to the day.
