How wonderful speakout- what a brave wild woman she must be!

No need to get in the water to get wet here today (although I do think there’s something special about wild swimming in the rain) the heavens opened whilst I was out charity shopping! Such a joy to be able to potter round them again though. So good to hear of your yoga too Violet and speakout collective energy raising. Lovely stuff

VioletCharlotte · 11/05/2021 21:08

I think I saw an article about her Speakout (I can't imagine there are that many mermaids in Scotland!) She looked amazing, so graceful.

Is anyone else feeling the new moon energies?

I thought I'd share this post from Kirsty Gallagher, I know some of you follow her,but others may be interested. I like how she writes in a very down-to-earth way that just makes sense. This really resonates with me and aligns with the universal energy on picking up on right now 💫

Happy Taurus New Moon 🌙

Here comes this grounding, earthy moon to help you to lay the foundations for the direction you wish to go.

Even though this new moon is not an eclipse it opens up eclipse season. All new moons initiate the following lunar cycle, and this cycle will include the Sagittarius full moon lunar eclipse and takes us all the way through to the Gemini new moon solar eclipse when the next cycle begins.

These eclipses are going to bring huge amounts of change, and this new moon is the preparation we need for the change ahead.

This new moon is going to call you to retreat, to reflect, to slow down, to get still and quiet and listen and to seek the answers within. It is under this new moon that foundations are laid, and you pave the way for change and new beginnings, and these foundations begin within you. It is vital under this moon that you find this deep inner connection to yourself.

Under the Aries new moon we were asked to open up a new chapter of our lives, what we wanted this ‘new world’ to look like and what we wanted for the year ahead.

Since then, and especially since the Scorpio full moon I know many of you have joined me in feeling like you are in a sacred pause, in between worlds, knowing that something is coming but you’re not sure what or how.

This is all going to become clear with the Taurus new moon. It’s going to be as though things suddenly click into place – if you get still and quiet enough to listen.

Use this moon to get rooted in what matters to you, who you are and what you desire, and then trust. Something is coming, you know it deep within you. An energy is rising, an alchemy is happening, life change is on the horizon. We weren’t ready before, but we are now. Lay the foundations for your best life, it’s all out there waiting for you…

hilariousnamehere · 11/05/2021 22:04

Aw, I'm really missing mermaiding - pools are not keen and I don't live near any other mers to wild swim with so will have to wait till the summer! Will keep an eye for the Scottish mermaid Grin

I'm sorry I'm so quiet, business has suddenly exploded so am working all hours to keep up with everything and keep forgetting to eat which makes me grumpy.

Hoping to clear the backlog this week so I can have a well earned pub lunch with a friend and then spend Sunday with my journal and much neglected tarot cards!

speakout · 12/05/2021 06:43

ioletCharlotte I am feeling the new moon energies too, It has caused me to intensify my self sompassion and care.
Thanks for those words too- very meaningful.
It's my DDs 21st birthday today, she is here to open gifts, then off to meet friends.
Stormy downpours are predicted all day, and she has booked a couple of city venues- all outdoors, I hope she keeps dry.
hilariousnamehere I hope you find time to look after yourself in your busy schedule. when we get overloaded it is too easy to ignore ourselves- but actually more important to self nurture- good to have a day off to look forward to.

speakout · 13/05/2021 17:09

Quiet in here today, thought I'd drop in to open some windows and plump the cushions.
A week of strange energies here, things I can't quite put my finger on. A great opportunity to use the word obfuscate!
I am taking great care to eat well and get plenty sleep until things clear.
Hope my sisters are well.

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 13/05/2021 18:26

Thank you speakout, it’s good to sink into those freshly plumped cushions and feel that wonderful fresh air.

What an excellent word! Relevant here too, I know what you mean about strange energies. We’ve had a series of minor mishaps/breakages here which seem to reflect the feelings engendered! Your self care sounds very wise, you’ve inspired me actually, I was just musing whether to ditch the idea of ‘proper’ cooking in favour of something easier and less nutritious but I’ll get on and cook- my body will thank me for it!

Love to all for a peaceful evening

queenrollo · 13/05/2021 18:39

Evening all. I echo the strange energies feeling. I've had a really productive week and then today I just came to a standstill and have felt really out of sorts. I feel untethered.

Weekend just gone we did our first socialising since last summer and it was so wonderful to be with friends again and see our kids charging about and playing. It really helped resolve a lot of the anxiety I had swimming around.
None of my usual activities will be running any time soon so I am finding other things to do instead. I do feel I need to busy myself and get out there or the anxiety I worked so hard to beat will take grip again.

VioletCharlotte · 13/05/2021 21:43

I had to Google Obfuscate! Agree it's a great word, I'll have to find words to drop it into conversation now!

Yes to strange energies. I'm not quite sure what's going on, it feels like things are shifting once again, but what that means, I don't know!

Aerwyna sorry to hear about the breakages, it's so annoying how isn't it?! It does feel like this is the energies playing themselves out in a physical way. I hope you cooked something nice for dinner!

Exercise seems to be the best way for me to quieten my mind right now. I don't seem to be able to settle into meditation. Being physically tired really helps me to sleep as well.

Queenrollo I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with friends, I always feel much better after some socialising! The pandemic has made me appreciate my friends more than ever.

hilariousnamehere · 13/05/2021 22:56

Obfuscate is one of my very favourite words, made me smile to see it here!

I've been out on a shoot today and am feeling exhausted but happy - and very lucky to be living this life.

I am feeling most unusually in the mood for a sort out so think I will try and do that with intention on Saturday - the weather has seen off my plans with a friend but I like the idea of some mundane magic and planning and having a chance to re-centre a bit. Things have been very crazy!

Can also confirm that my magic does not lie in cooking 😂 I love doing it but it never turns out quite as planned!

Have a lovely peaceful evening, sisters.

speakout · 14/05/2021 06:55

Glad to hear the support of others- I though it was just me having a strange week!
Thinking about hidden things, obfuscating, hiding I have also been thinking about glamour magic this week too. We are also heading for a total lunar eclipse this month- some deep diving.
Aerwyna I'm glad you are nourishing yourself, it is easy to let that one slip, especially if our energy is low.
queenrollo "feeling untethered" is such a good description- exactly how I feel right now too hard to focus, and lots of mishaps all around. Like you I know this can be a sign of anxiety, I need to work double hard to deal with that, like VioletCharlotte exercise is a great antidote for me.
Some sunshine today- for now anyway, just about to get up for yoga. I have the dentist this morning and a busy day of work.
DS and are going out for dinner- again!- he will be choosing, he has very eclectic culinary tastes, so I am excited to see where we may end up.
I hope the day brings everyone focus and calm.

I will settle for just being able to function.
Tbh i have just been putting the odd feelings down to the fact it has been a heck of a couple of weeks.
discovering can't have any of the covid vaccines for health reasons, good friend dying, multiple allergen exposures, people issues, work issues.
The was supposed to be a lovely picture attached to my last post but i see it didn't show up. If i remember and have the energy I will try another attempt later.

May your fridays be gentle and your weekends bring you restoration and revitalisation.

speakout · 14/05/2021 11:01

HillsBesideTheSea

Sending support - I will light a candle for you- and anyone else that needs it.

Doing some serious hard core self care at the moment.
Hair treatments, pedicure, facials, salt baths, very healthy food, been to the dentist, yoga, meditation.
Hope to book a massage next week, started a new book.
And just approaching things in a mindful way. My anxiety has been knocking at the door recently and I have taken time to listen, but just redecorating my inner world a little.

You’re so inspiring speakout- thank you. I love that image too. So pleased to hear you’re taking good care of yourself, it all adds up to a very handy toolkit I think. I love the term ‘serious hardcore self care’- important stuff and excellent strategies for keeping the anxiety at bay. I hope you have a wonderful meal out with your DS this evening- a gift of love as well as good food, perfect.

hilarious I love your passion for your work, there’s a vibrant energy to it. Glad to hear you’re inspired to do some clearing, like you I have to strike while the iron’s hot with that! Great for a sense of clearing and roots nurturing I think. Don’t forget to take care of you!

Violet, thank you, yes it’s funny how the energy manifests physically isn’t it. My most amusing recent mishap (in retrospect!) was a door handle jamming- I ended up climbing out of the window, then having to climb back in when I realised I didn’t have all I needed from the room! Sometimes the laughter caused by the ridiculousness of a situation is just the medicine we need isn’t it! I had a lovely tea in the end thank you, moussaka and Greek salad- worth the effort.

queenrollo, pleased to hear you had some much needed connection time. May there be more of it to come.. I think your self awareness around anxiety is such a helpful skill to have developed, not easy I know but so valuable.

Hills, sending love and wishing you moments of peace amongst it all.

BlankTimes I meant to say before that I loved your posts about sacred places and protecting fae dwellings, endlessly fascinating and informative as ever. Also lovely to hear of your surprise magical start to the day.

I’ve been doing a bit of manifesting work around abundance. Amazing how the energy starts to flow when you make a decision to open up to it. Starting small but enough to build the momentum

Wishing everyone a magical Friday 🧚‍♀️

@speakout that’s a lovely picture!
Have booked my first cut and colour in a year and really looking forward to it. Might get nails done as well as a treat :)

speakout · 15/05/2021 07:13

TheLastLotus sounds great. I had my hair cut a couple of weeks ago- forst time in a year- it felt good. I may get my nails done too.
I thought yesterdays core yoga was quite easy, but my stomach muscles are telling me otherwise this morning! Just a gentle flow today.
And flow will set the tone for my day, my intention is ease.
Including a trip to my favourite local charity shop.
We are moving through such times of uncertainty, but a reminder that certainty is rarely with us anyway. Finding our core will always keep us safe, no matter the storms.
The moon is in its motherland of cancer today, familiarity and home comfort will bring us balance.
The moon has seen it all, she has gazed as we crawled from the swamps, watched dinosaurs come and go, watched as humans learned to make fire and art and temples. She has watched nations rise and fall, births and deaths, chariots and love, all the time turning up, waxing and waning, giving us certainty in an uncertain world. She has seen all of it, from our birth, she knows all, reminding us of light within darkness, showing us everything we have ever known.

Speakout such beautiful words, so very grounding and just what I needed to hear this morning, thank you. In times of uncertainty, it really helps to remember that whatever else happens, the moon will continue to wax and wane, the sun will rise and the wheel will continue to turn through the seasons.

I'm feeling anxious too, so much uncertainty again. I'm protecting myself by limiting my social media usage and focusing on that things I can control - looking after myself and my loved ones. DS2 has a birthday coming up and DS1 is moving into a new flat in a couple of weeks, they're both happy and being in their energy is uplifting.

I love the idea of 'extreme self care'. I went to the gym for an hour last night and for a swim and plan to do the same today. This evening I'll do a face pack and hair mask. I keep thinking about getting my nails done too.

Sending love to you all for a magical Saturday 💫

speakout · 15/05/2021 12:24

VioletCharlotte thank you.
I am glad you are seeking activities that are grounding and the company of your sons- who sound soul soothing.

So many of us here have recently talked of raised anxiety, being untethered, energies that are adrift. We all seek to remedy, to find a solution for the unsettling and unpleasant feelings.
But maybe it is no surprise- as events unfold it is hard to find solace, we face such an uncertain future, I think our feelings are absolutely valid, need recognition and even respect.
Women are gaslit by the patriarchy, we are hysterical creatures so we are told, easily succumb to our hormones, the moon. Our emotion states hard to tame which makes us wholly unsuitable for taking charge or making decisions or all the serious things in life. We feel too much. We care too much. We see too much.
What we feel is the real deal. We need to be beating our chests and stamping our chests right now. We can see clearly. It isn’t us who are crazy- it is the blinkered men in charge who are playing the same song as the world suffers.
We need a new song, a new beat to that drum. Our heart has known that song for eons.

I love that image Speakout! And yes to banging a drum and singing a new song! I'm yearning for women's gatherings and drumming circles, chanting, dancing, sharing stories, crying, laughing. Just being with other women and rising up, taking our power back. I want to be wild and free!

speakout · 16/05/2021 07:16

VioletCharlotte absolutely!
I am hoping my usual yoga classes wil be running soon, how I will savour working in a group again.
A beautiful misty morning here, the air is soft and still, trees shouded in a gentle cloak, I can hear wood pigeons cooing outside my window.
Although nature is under threat it is still warming to know that there are more birds in the UK than people. And in my local area we have a bit of a hedgehog explosion, seem to be running around everywhere right now. We have lots of moles, quite easy to spot badgers, deer and foxes are commonplace too. Where there are native trees everything else will follow.
I spent last night giving myself a facial, so soothing and relaxing. Although I have to work for a while today it will be a pedicure later- DD gave me lots of foot treats for my birthday recently, and I have a real yoga class tomorrow, so my bare feet have an outing!!
I also bought myself a new selection pack of incense, I am working my way through them with glee!!
Have a magical day friends.

So much this!! I've joined a wild cold water swimming group today - not sure when I'll be brave enough to go but it seems to be mainly women and feels like exactly what I'm being pulled towards right now.

I've had a funny old week topped off with my fluffy familiar catching two birds - she ate one which was sad but ok, nature, right? And then the second one I had to rescue from her as she brought it inside and it broke my heart with its wise, sad little eyes. I cried and cried after, and I couldn't put it out of its misery, I am sometimes a rubbish witch I think. (though the cats are grounded and the bird is gone so hopefully has either recovered or met a swift end).

She brings me about one every two years normally so hoping that's it for a while, but wondering about fledging season and how long each nest takes for all the babies to fly - perhaps I should keep her in till the nest in my porch eves has finished?

So today has been punctuated by unimpressed cat stares because I kept them both in just in case Blush

In happier news speakout your words have lifted my spirits!

speakout · 17/05/2021 06:26

hilariousnamehere

It's horrible when a cat catches a bird isn't it. I understand why you felt so sad- my cats sometimes catch birds- thankfully not very often.
I have mixed feelings about it. It is absolutely in the nature of a cat or any carnivore to catch an kill another animal, and wild animals rely on this in order to survive.
But domestic cats decimate the bird population and the massive number of pet cats in the UK ( 10 million) is a very unnatural situation, caused by humans- so we are really the ones responsible for the death of so many birds and other small animals.
I speak as a cat owner myself though, and cats are fine creatures who are here through no fault of their own and deserve a good home.
I would personally like to see fewer pets of all sorts being kept, but we can work towards minimising our impact.
Getting rescue cats or kittens rather than supporting breeders, not allowing our own animals to breed so we are not adding to the problem. Keeping cats in overnight, feeding before we let them out- hunger will stimulate a cat's killer instinct, a full belly will lessen the interest in prey.
But even with that some cats are wired to kill and hard to stop.

I am off for a yoga class this morning- my real class for 6 months, so I am excited. It is very local, and only 8 participants. Also a little costly, but good as a kick start into yoga class again.
I wish I was brave enough to go wild water swimming. I don't do well with cold at all. The water itself is appealling- I have spent quite a bit of time abroad and in hot climates spent time every day in the sea, rivers, waterfalls. Can't quite bring myself to do it here though.

I have been deep diving with Lilith this weekend, that vilified kiss ass feminist deity. She is presenting herself to me everywhere so I need to listen!

Oh, I hope you enjoy your yoga class speakout - I'm going to an in person dance class tonight and I can't wait!

Getting rescue cats or kittens rather than supporting breeders, not allowing our own animals to breed so we are not adding to the problem. Keeping cats in overnight, feeding before we let them out- hunger will stimulate a cat's killer instinct, a full belly will lessen the interest in prey. agree with all of this, and do it - my (rescue, spayed) fluffy idiots eat before they're allowed out in the mornings, don't go out after 5pm, and usually only catch a bird every couple of years between them Confused I hadn't realised there were so many pet cats in the UK though, wow!
