Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

How have you found working with Freya in your practise QueenRollo. I am reluctant to add that level of complexity when life is utterly insane already. I fear it adds an endless amount of opportunities for fuck ups

Verbena87 · 03/05/2021 19:45

I love my job but there are major issues with the system at large, for sure. I use a mixture of overt resistance and quiet subversiveness.

Witch weather here too but I’m so worn out I’ve just been hibernating and baking with the rhubarb from the garden.

Ogress · 03/05/2021 20:19

It's a bitterly cold and drizzly day here, but I'm still riding high from a wonderful Beltane celebration (the benefits of a private and not-overlooked garden!) and looking forward to the joys of May.

This song sums me up right now

queenrollo · 03/05/2021 20:29

@HillsBesideTheSea I'm going very slowly with Freya. I've ordered a print and a little statue and am making a space on my bedside table to set up a small devotional space to her. I've set up a folder on my youtube and am dropping videos in there to watch. I'm about to start a two page opening in my Grimoire for her and am making notes in a rough book of things I might add.
As ever with my practise it is little and often and if I'm not feeling it that day then it doesn't happen. I have too many other demands on me, and so while I prioritise a little 'me' time every day it's not necessarily witchy.
My work with Freya will grow organically I feel.

hilariousnamehere · 03/05/2021 22:48

Thank you ladies - and I'm sorry to have inadvertently brought up bad experiences Flowers

@YarnOver I might pop you a message later in the week depending on assessment outcome if that's ok - mostly I'm worrying about driving licence although I've never had so much as a speeding course/ticket in 13 years of driving so hoping that won't be an automatic outcome if I do get a diagnosis.

Mainly I'm just intrigued to know if it's the reason for some of my quirky bits Smile

Definitely witch weather here, the wind is hurling my garden chairs round and while I am enjoying the sound of the storm, I don't especially want to go out in it to rescue them Grin

I love your small explorings with Freya, queenrollo - looking forward to hearing more.

Ogress your Beltane celebration sounds glorious - how I wish I wasn't overlooked! I love my home but five neighbours would get an eyeful if I used my garden for witchy things Blush

@HillsBesideTheSea

Let's put it this way. Mum got called into school about the fact i was suddenly angry. Her response was "well she just discovered that this is what you have been doing..... I actually think she has every right to be angry. Perhaps be glad that she is not the kind of kid to properly kick off" Primary school caused a nervous breakdown in ds. I have very strong feelings about exactly how unfit for purpose the English education system is and how very much it is not one of the best in the world. What we export may well be, but you give one of our kids the iGCSE exam and they would have major issues. As for the systematic destruction of self worth and confidence. Criminal. Completely and utterly. It was so bad that i got out and stayed out. And there will be a party when I no longer have ds in the education system.
I completely agree with everything you have said. I don't agree with the English system of schooling, the ideas are bonkers in some cases. Most of the curriculum is decided by people who have never been in teaching or know anything about children.

Saying that, teaching children is my passion. More so working with children who need extra support. I want to make a difference to them.

Ogress that song is beautiful. I lsitened to it last night- after an emotional evening, it soothed me. Thanks for posting.
I am also enjoying the talk of Freya, it is interesting how the She will manifest in so many forms, we are called to explore to understand a little better.
I often get very intererested in a certain goddess for a while, love to delve deep and understand- whether from India or Africa, China or Japan. So many work holes, so much to learn.
Weather here continues to be very wet and overcast, but adding to the greening and helping all my plants no end.
I hope everyone finds some ways to enchant their day.

Sometimes I wish i felt in control of my practise. Half the time i feel like the universe is just giving me a slap to the head to knock some sense into me and then telling me to just get on with it Hmm

I mean I know i am incredibly good at denial and procrastination but yikes. the last 18 months have felt life a roller coaster.

I am lacking motivation today. Poor life choices yesterday. So i think i am going to break out the hiking gear, the spiced orange sugar for my coffee and head out somewhere where there are less distractions. Unfortunately i fear that where I would like to be will be a complete mud bath after all the rain last yesterday. Localised flooding and car almost being blown off the hills were a thing when i was running errands.

queenrollo · 04/05/2021 13:19

Oh Hills I am frequently being kicked up the backside by the Universe and if procrastination were an Olympic Sport I would be gold standard!

TheLastLotus · 04/05/2021 13:49

Sorry late to the party but such a lovely thread

speakout · 04/05/2021 13:52

TheLastLotus

You are welcome. Always tea in the pot and a cosy place by the fire. Make yourself comfortable.

A very cold sunny morning here, bright blue sky but warnings of torrential rain and sleet later, so I am up bright and early to hang laundry, hopefully to catch the magic before the storm comes.
Off a early shopping trip to buy some craft supplies and food, I prefer to shop when things are quiet, no queues.
I know I get stressed and frazzled when shops are busy, so a gift to myself to go when it is quiet- and also a gift to myself of more time left in the day to spend on more interesting activities!

Sending magical energy to everyone.

OP posts:
Aerwyna · 05/05/2021 11:34

I love those kind of gifts to ourselves speakout, powerful self nurturing I think. I have also been getting washing out before another change in weather- I love your words ‘catching the magic’

I’m not up to date with the thread but wanted to say welcome to our new friends. I enjoy the magic of our collective energy and look forward to catching up with a peppermint tea. Love to all for a magical day

speakout · 05/05/2021 14:44

Aerwyna I see it as self nurturing too.
I have a great ethos of getting the chores out of the way first, then a gradual winding down of the day, until evening time when things are at a slow pace!
But I am a morning person, I know others beat to different rhythms.
As predicted he skies are turning black here, already a few moments of hail.
My laundry is hung inside to air, crackling and fizzing from the spring air.
I notice my cats have noticed the approach of the storm, and have already chosen their favourite warm spots to snuggle.

OP posts:
MedusasBadHairDay · 05/05/2021 14:47

The storm has just reached here, had a flash of lightning and a rumble of thunder. I love a storm, though I'm slightly reluctant to do the school run in it 😂, they're far more enjoyable from inside a nice warm and dry house.

speakout · 05/05/2021 18:31

Crazy heavy snow here- started off with hailstones the size of plums battering off the roof. Snow is lying thickly- strange as it will be June next month!

OP posts:
VioletCharlotte · 05/05/2021 22:19

Goodness Speakout, snow in May! Enjoy being safe and warm indoors.

No snow here, just a little rain this afternoon. I've had a busy week so need to sit down with a cuppa and catch up properly on all the posts. Love to you all and welcome to out new comers Smile

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/05/2021 22:35

We had gruppel earlier today but you can keep the snow speakout.
It has been unusually cold here or more accurately unusually i have felt the cold. Everyone has been commenting that it must be really cold as i was wearing a jumper.

Welcome to our new comers.

hilariousnamehere · 05/05/2021 22:43

Emotional rollercoaster today so hot chocolate, bed, journal and currently I have a small black kitty purring away in my lap - they've been taking it in turns to visit me all afternoon!

Better update once I've slept, I think, but welcome new magical friends!

speakout · 06/05/2021 07:00

The Venus trine Pluto aspect today will boost energy to deepen and consolidate relationships with loved ones, with those around us, with ventures and that which we cherish, with ourselves.
Some deep love diving.
Snow is still lying here, So I am guessing it's back to boots and warm coats!
I am off to my second meal out this week, it's such a treat! Tuesday was dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with my DS, today an Italian lunch with my DD.. So will be a light fruit breakfast today with a salad for dinner! I am happy to support small independent restaurants, it's been and continues to be tough times.
I came across an old Grimoire that I used thirty five years ago, such a treat to have a deep glimpse into the young woman I was then. Full of excitement at starting "real" magic, on the back of my childhood magical education. Working with a Coven, learning about ceremonial procedures. Writing down lists of suppliers ( way before the internet) to track down just the right obscure ingredient for my spellwork. Notes on learning Tarot, - book is written with a fountain pen, all quite serious. She was doing some intense and powerful work though- it was a time of great learning, it made me smile.
Although that was all useful and a time of great learning I am much more relaxed about my craft now. Far more likely to grab a jar of spice from Tesco than find some esoteric supplier.
My craft is also far more integrated into my everyday life. In my younger days I would have magical moments within a muggles life. Big dramatic events and workings requiring a lot of preparation, weeks to plan. It felt like that of course, but I was unseeing of mundane magic.
I no longer have the muggles days, my whole life is magical, and most of it at a low key, but far more integrated, much of it done without even a thought. When magic is woven into everyday activity it requires no effort, but enhances and supports at every turn.
Off for my morning ritual to ground and find space before the start of a busy day.
Enjoy your magical moments sisters.

@speakout any tips on weaving magic into everyday life? It sometimes seems that when I don’t focus on ritual I get completely distracted

speakout · 06/05/2021 09:17

TheLastLotus mostly simple things, involving everyday acts we are already performing- cooking, cleaning etc. Taking time to light a candle or incense.
There has been quite a bit of discussion on everyday magic in the past month or so on this thread- and thread 13.
I would love to sit and give lots of magical examples, but dashing off right now.
I'll post back later- maybe some others will come along in the meantime and give some ideas.

BlankTimes · 06/05/2021 19:31

TheLastLotus have a browse through our previous threads, there's so much info there and it's nice to see how this space we all share has evolved with exchanges of ideas ebbing and flowing.

Ritual is usually high in concentration and focus, spreading magic everywhere even in the mundane is more of a natural flow, doing everyday things with positive intentions.

VioletCharlotte · 07/05/2021 07:47

Popping into day good morning before I start the working day. Very pleased it's Friday and the end of the working week!

Thelastlotus weaving magic into everyday life is a lovely way to love! As others have said, it transforms mundane tasks into something magical and special. We've talked often on the thread about laundry magic and kitchen witching. Do everything with intention, used essential oils when washing and cooking, stir intention into your cooking along with your herbs and spices, change your mindset around housework; you're not just cleaning, your clearing and cleansing and pathing the way for energy to move.

Sorry, a bit of a ramble. It's early! Love to you all for the day ahead Smile

speakout · 07/05/2021 08:33

BlankTimes

That is a good summary of everday magic.
VioletCharlotte some great examples- magic is rarely far from my thoughts, just thinking about this morning, feeding my animals, wild birds, these are all sacred acts. My morning coffee is an offering, my daily foot massage with my Roots Butter is an act of devotion.
I have dropped some moon water into my washing machine as a final rinse, my candle is burning to uplift and share with my sisters here. I will wear my obsidian to the supermarket, I will whisper into the wind to send support to loved ones. I listen to chants as I work to help with the flow.
I may go barefoot as I hang laundry- takes only a moment to slip off my shoes and do some earthing as I peg clothes.
With a little intention our days can be stuffed with magic.
