The old thread was nearly full, so here is a new one. Oldies and newbies, chat or prayer, all welcome.

Praying especially for MHD and JanFeb’s daughter.
Also praying for all who are preparing Holy Week/Easter services.

@whataboutbob praying now for your DS1. So hard to miss something so anticipated.

@coffeecup88 just saying a prayer for your middle dc now. May they know the peace and presence of God holding them closely. Flowers

Madhairday · 16/09/2021 13:11

@ReuniteTracyandEliska I don't know anything about your story but it sounds harrowing and I'm just praying now for you. God, bring peace, wisdom and resolution to this situation, in Jesus name. Flowers

ReuniteTracyandEliska · 16/09/2021 14:56

Thank you madhairday. You will hear more about our situation as it unfolds. Thank you for your prayers. They are exactly what we need darling. Have a lovely day. Thank you. X

whataboutbob · 16/09/2021 17:05

Thanks you @Madhairday and thank you all for this supportive non judgemental thread.

Dutchoma · 16/09/2021 17:22

I’m actually just reading a thread that I think madhairday began a while back about Jesus. I’m interested in what makes people believe or led to their journey into faith. That’s probably not the purpose of this thread, but thanks for starting such an interesting one. It’s answering some questions I have.

Dutchoma · 16/09/2021 21:13

You are very welcome to air questions here, Tracey. Not that any of us have all (or any) of the answers, but an honest discussion is perfectly fine.

Thank you @Madhairday . I'll be saying a wee prayer for you all Thanks

Madhairday · 17/09/2021 09:59

Thanks, all. It's good to be back.

@ReuniteTracyandEliska like Oma says, feel free to ask questions here too. I'm glad you're finding one of my old threads helpful - I think there are quite a few about Jesus, so not sure which one it is, but I'm glad.

ReuniteTracyandEliska · 19/09/2021 19:03

Hi madhairday, it’s a debate one between you and a non believer. It’s really interesting.

Thanks dutch. I’m curious as to whether belief is something people on here were born into/raised with or something they found, if that makes sense. Or has anyone experienced the feeling that god has sought them out?

Hope you’re all having a nice Sunday. X

Dutchoma · 19/09/2021 22:24

I don’t know Tracy. I think it is different for each one of us. I only came in contact because my mother liked the new vicar and she and all five of us children were baptised in one service. But I knew about God before then. I have gone through many stages of belief and yes, I have had times that I knew God called me, other times that I was totally at odds with what was going on.

I came to Jesus by how hard the devil was coming for me. Have a lovely Monday everyone. X

Dutchoma · 20/09/2021 10:07

I’m sorry to hear that you feel treated with contempt Tracey, that was not my intent at all of course. I am glad that you have found Jesus.

Just a word for dutchoma. I am very much a lurker rather than an active participant here ( come to think of it that mirrors my attitude to faith 😳) but have never seen dutchoma be anything but honest, supportive and humble on these threads. Sorry you feel judged a Tracey. Sometimes stress is so debilitating it causes us to not be able to cope as well as we usually would with most new situations. I have been there.

I have always been taught all believers are saints sudoku.

coffeecup88 · 20/09/2021 11:54

I think my experience of God and faith are similar to Dutchoma.

Dutchoma · 20/09/2021 11:58

Thank you whataboutbob.

Also just jumping in here to say @Dutchoma is one of the gentlest, kindest people I know, and has never treated anyone with anything but love. I think you have misinterpreted something, Tracy, and I'm not sure what. I'm sorry you're feeling that way and hope that you continue to find your way with Jesus, who loves you very much.

Sending love to Oma who is our rock here Flowers

@SudokuZebra the saints are indeed all of us, but there are certain people through the ages named as saints and venerated as such especially in Catholicism, from some biblical characters through to Christians who have given much of themselves eg Teresa like you say.

Dutchoma · 20/09/2021 15:07

Thank you MHD
