Good afternoon everyone, I should be doing so many other things right now, but I've decided to pop in for a cuppa and a chat instead. Warm welcomes to all of our new people and to friends who are returning here, it's great to see you all in the Kitchen and hear about all your wonderful experiences Halloween Smile

speakout · 25/10/2020 18:00

Lovely to see you Blanktimes Brew

And you too PurpleFig SmileI remember you well. It's great to hear from you and heartwarming to hear how much you're enjoying being a Mum. Eight months is a great age. Nothing prepares you for Motherhood or that rush of love you feel for them. And that protective instinct never goes away. My two are both young adults, (they're 6ft tall and have beards) but I still have this overwhelming urge to protect them. My inner lioness! You sound like a lovely Mum ❤️

Anyone else feeling exhausted this evening? The clock change seems to have really thrown me this year, I'm ready for bed!

speakout · 25/10/2020 21:06

VioletCharlott I am exhausted too.
I am already in bed. Everyone is fed and watered, kitchen tidy I have just taken myself off for an early night
I have had quite a lot of stresses and strains this week, which have been resolved to some extent- 5 family members and we have been is very strict lockdown for some time- but am in a still and peaceful place- and taking full advantage!
I am in bed already with a cup of peppermint tea.

Sending peaceful and restful energy to everyone.

Another tired witch here Violet! Feels much later than it is.
Just sitting down for a relaxing tea and a catch up. I like to think that BlankTimes magic tea pot can also transcend time so we can connect for a chat even when our tea timeframes differ Halloween Smile

Lovely to hear from you purplefig and so pleased to hear how much you’re enjoying your LO and the role of mother. Makes me think of the empress in the tarot as a focus for archetype work.

Yes, the insight I mentioned was one of the’just knowing’ kinds you describe. I woke up with a sentence in my head as though it were a message for my attention in the ‘inbox’ of my consciousness. It was down to earth, to the point and gave clarity. I‘ve learned to trust these more over years which seems to encourage more.

I hope everyone has a restful evening

BlankTimes · 26/10/2020 01:27

Oh definitely Aerwyna Time is no barrier to the Magic Teapot, nor are many other things.
I think I dozed off in the corner here for a while, maybe it was the lovely aroma of Speakout's candles, or just the waves of companionship in here, it's so comfortable and cosy. I've had a nagging migraine all day, so I've done much less than usual.

Only because I had to, I nipped out to top up the coal bucket a couple of hours ago, it was so cold I could see my own breath. I saw the moon framed by the bare branches of a tree, at my level there was a mist beginning to form into wisps but up above, the sky was crystal clear and full of stars, as ever, the more you look the more you see. My outside light bulb has popped and the werelight flame on my fingertip isn't quite bright enough to discriminate between coal and the creatures I'd rather stayed in there than hitched a ride into my home. Nor is it practical to have a self-generated finger-flame near anything flammable, so the choice of illumination was my head-torch. At one point I turned my head from the bucket to a spot about 6 feet away and nearly jumped out of my skin. Two fluorescently bright very yellowy lights hovered about a foot off the floor. I thought it was a migraine light-display. Then I realised it was one of our black cats, but I couldn't see any other part of him at all. Like this but only the yellow lights. i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/041/228/harbringercat.jpg I've never seen his eyes do that before, I've seen them glow indoors and outdoors many times, he's 8 years old, but tonight's display was really something else Halloween Shock
Even the most banal tasks can include a wow moment!

hilariousnamehere · 26/10/2020 01:33

Delurking for a late night cuppa and so I can catch up with the thread properly in the morning! It's lovely to meet more magical women 💙

queenrollo · 26/10/2020 07:34

Morning beautiful sisters.

I seem energised by the clock change! Up early this morning, lit the Rayburn and hung a load of washing on the line. It is brilliant sunshine out there, but cold. Nonethless the laundry will 'lighten' and smell beautiful even if I have to finish drying it inside.
I whispered magic into it all as a hung it too.

A challenging week ahead, in many respects, but I feel I can face it head on. I hope this fire in my veins remains!

speakout · 26/10/2020 07:45

queenrollo

Lovely to hear your bright morning energy and fire in your veins.
Cold and bright here too, I am up early too, taking advantage of quiet time to do some laundry and work.

hilariousnamehere I am glad you have joined us- welcome.

OP posts:
rivierliedje · 26/10/2020 09:26

The clock change has given me energy too it seems. Yesterday did laundry and hung it out in the sun and spent a lot of time outside (two walks, a run and some gardening plus sitting outside for a zoom call).

This morning it is incredibly windy which is wonderful. I have tea and porridge and rhubarb compote on the stove and a candle burning. I plan to mow the lawn later if the sun keeps up. A last mowing for the winter, I don't like distrubing the wildness out there so am following the biodiversity meadow guidelines. This booklet is very helpful.

hilariousnamehere · 26/10/2020 12:20

Thank you for the welcome! This feels like a wonderful, welcoming, magical homelike thread so please forgive me if I make random comments as I wander through 💕

I too am feeling more energised by the clock change, although I'm a real night owl so just surfacing now!

Lovely to come here and catch up on the chat; new faces and old friends, tenacity, fighting spirit and funny cat stories. Perfect with a tea break!

I’ve been thinking I should cut the grass too- the last time of the season. I like the wildness too though and on closer inspection I see it is cultivating fungus- very fae. I might just leave it Halloween Smile

VioletCharlotte · 26/10/2020 18:15

I'm feeling energised too after a good sleep. I like the mornings lighter, I got up much earlier than usual and enjoyed the extra time in the morning before starting the working day.

Blanktimes your story about being startled by your cats eyes made me smile. I'm sure I would have jumped too, very spooky!

Speakout sorry to hear the restrictions are so strict where you are. I imagine it's taking its toll, it must be challenging to have five adults under one roof. However much you love your family, it's nice to have a little space from them at times!

Aerwyna goodness, yes, I would leave that fungus well alone! You don't want to do anything to invoke the wrath of the fae! Grin

Hilariousnamehere welcome SmileLovely to have you with us in our cosy witches kitchen.

I'm just back from a dog walk, the dark evenings are certainly creeping in. I was treated to a beautiful, bright waxing moon to guide me around the park. I'm very lucky looking forward to Saturday's blue moon, I do hope the sky is clear.

Elasticatedwaist · 27/10/2020 05:56

Morning everyone
Having a cup of tea before heading out with my dog . It was very windy here yesterday which was lovely , I could hear it howling down the chimney as I snuggled up on the sofa, very cosy .
Tier 3 restrictions here for us too . It hasn’t made a great difference though really as we have been keeping very isolated from the start due to dh Lung issues . It’s taken some adjusting , from spending quite a lot of time alone to now having my adult son here 24/7 as he unfortunately lost his job back in March . We have certainly learned a few things !
Thanks @speakout for the heads up on the mini pumpkins at Aldi , managed to get some yesterday. They’re great .
I too am Looking forward to The full moon , I’ve been having very vivid dreams for the last 3 nights , each time involving people from my past after not having any dreams ( that I can remember anyway) for ages. I do believe that dreams are often messages , I just need to work out what it is .
Wishing you all a lovely day 🙂

speakout · 27/10/2020 06:55

Elasticatedwaist good morning, I am up early too., just have the beginnings of a stunning sunrise warming up the morning sky.

We continue in phase 3 here, This has affected people in many different ways. I am sorry to hear that your DS has lost his job, and apart from health dangers financial secutity is a real issue for many people.
I am not a big social mixer anyway so not a huge problem, I am missing my yoga classes though and I think we are a long way off to having them start aagin in my area. All exercise classes are cancelled.

We have had several sightings of a huge black cat in the woods around here in the past few weeks, several independent sightings by dog walkers etc, The size of a puma, it has been seen near the river and running over grassland.
I know there have been similar sightings in parts of the UK, and folklore stories going back centuries. It just piqued my interest, a plausible explanation is that an irresponsible owner has lost an illegally owned animal and now trying to survive in the wild.
Could it be a manifestation of other energies?
I have very strong feelings of wolf energy in my local woods. None live there, but their presence is tangible, I can feel their raw energy and sense their breath. They watch over and protect, not an energy I fear at all, just a wild power within the ancient woods.
I may go for a walk to see If I can spot the elusive cat.

Any thoughts?

OP posts:
Runningdownthathill · 27/10/2020 07:40

I’ve been awake on and off since 4 am. The sky is amazing, a beautiful pink with amazing turquoise blue.
speakout the Puma sightings sound so exciting! I would be out every day looking for it I were you...

Interesting thoughts about wolf energy in the woods. I am fascinated by wolves. I watched a bit of a programme about travelling through Scandinavia by train with a stop in the Arctic. The presenter went to a compound with wolves which were being encouraged to interact with humans. They surrounded him and started jumping up on him and licking him. He was both terrified and exhilarated I think. I’m not sure how I would react.

I’m very tired of lockdown. The prospect of not having a family Xmas is so depressing. I haven’t seen my eldest for nearly a year. I hope restrictions are lifted by then but who knows?

Aerwyna · 27/10/2020 09:56

Another one who’s been awake since the crack of dawn here,

It’s a wild and wet day where I am today. I’ll need to go out on it this afternoon so will seek to embrace the cleansing energy it holds.

I’m intrigued by the big cat sightings speakout and like you, beyond the logical explanations I like to tune in to the symbolism and medicine of animals. I love the way you describe tapping into the ancient wolf energy in the woods and feel like this wild feline energy brings something of the divine feminine. Independent and strong, fiercely protective, it seems to fit well with the wolf influence you sense there. Agents of Gaia on the prowl..

speakout · 27/10/2020 10:13

Agents of Gaia on the prowl..

I love that- big paws afoot....

My dawn this morning.

Oh my goodness speakout that is so beautiful!

Thank you for sharing your glorious picture, powerful and full of the promise of new horizons

Elasticatedwaist · 27/10/2020 10:26

@speakout it’s amazing that there could be these big cats living amongst us . There were a few sightings in my area a couple of years ago . People described them as panther like or black leopards. over the years there have been quite a few reports of them in the U.K. Dr Hemmings apparently studied the bite marks on carcasses of deer and sheep and found them to be consistent with what would come from these big cats .
@Runningdownthathill i haven’t seen my eldest son since Christmas . He lives quite a long way from us and it’s his birthday on Sunday . We would normally make the long drive to visit . I can’t decide whether to send him his present through the post or deliver it in person knowing that I would just have to stand in the street for a few minutes and then make the long journey back home . It’s tough isn’t it ?
I am very grateful that we have all stayed well though that’s the main thing .

The squirrels are busy again today at the back of my house . I know some don’t like them and class them as pests but I love to see them .

HillsBesideTheSea · 27/10/2020 10:32

Speakout that is really pretty.

Wolves used to exist in the UK not even that long ago. Maybe you are feeling their echo? Sensing them where they once were. Protecting the place they once roamed?

I am struggling with me-ness. Life has over taken me. I used the more powerful tarot pack yesterday that i have not really used and it has got sass. Life is changing faster then i can keep up and i find myself in a constant state of stress. And I have discovered a pattern. One of the reasons I find halloween so hard is it lowers my defenses/requires my defenses to be 100 times stronger. And i am really struggling with that. My mind is too scattered.

I wish you all gently days.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 27/10/2020 12:19

It's very Autumnal now; showers of leaves coming down today in the brightest shades of yellow. Some trees, I think they're ashes (they were across the river so I was at a distance), are already bare. The change in the clocks really brings home the shift; at least it's light(er) in the mornings now but it's almost dark by the time I bring my horse in for the night. Last night it was properly dark by the time I'd finished up, so I could stand and look at the stars and the moonlight though the almost-bare branches. It was one of the first evenings where I've really noticed the chill starting to creep in of a night.

I find this time of year has a quietening, fading energy - like nature is packing up for the winter and putting everything into storage for a bit. I'm looking forward to Samhain, it's one of my favourite Sabbats. An end and a beginning combined.

And yes to reading other people! Often I get a feeling about someone as soon as I meet them and it's rarely wrong. Maybe some of it comes from experience and maybe some of it is intuition, I don't know. It might be quite vague ("I think I should watch this one", or "She's rather spiky") but it's useful all the same.

@speakout could you continue your yoga practice at home? I like the structure of classes but I love having time to practice at my own speed - that way I can do my yoga by candle light and pause if I feel my body needs a longer stretch in a certain pose.

speakout · 27/10/2020 12:34

BrightYellowDaffodil

Yes I do daily yoga practice at home, but I miss the community of a group.

Fabulous sunrise Speakout
I've always wanted a wolf companion, we had a lovely large otherwise quite ordinary dog who used to howl like one which was spine-tingly, he used to almost go into a trance and then start howling.

Elasticatedwaist we've had rumours of big cats here too and footprints have been found. I empathise with the situation about your son's birthday, maybe an extra-special zoom call on the day and a get together and celebration when it will be more than just standing outside in the cold and wet.

Runningdownthathill the wolf compound sounds like a really immersive experience, I'd like to try it. I hope restrictions are lifted for the festive season.

The Agents of Gaia ( love that Aerwyna ) avians are making their presence known too. Yesterday when driving through the open countryside, a Red Kite took off from the verge right beside me and flew right in front of my windscreen, their wingspan is over 6 feet, it was like being buzzed by a dragon Halloween Grin

Hills life is hurtling helter-skelter in all sorts of unknown directions, could you do some more grounding as a daily or twice-daily practise to help you ? Bend like the reed is a lot better than trying to stand and stem the flow with events you can't control.
It's good you have found a pattern, try and strengthen your defences a lot, reflection and deflection can help.
Have a magical day everyone Star
