Hi guys

Thanks for all your support - the emails and the text messages too, they mean a LOT to me! I've no-one to discuss this with IRL, because so few understand "calling".

DH has calmed down now, and we do need to talk, but not tonight, when we're both so tired. I bought him a takeaway for father's day so we're both feeling bloated! We've given each other a hug, so hopefully that will sustain us.

We're meeting with the head tomorrow (and 2 of the KS1 teachers) to discuss DS and the report, so that is preying on our minds.

Evensong went through without any major disasters. People were really kind. One slight glitch was that people expected me to announce everything like "the choir will now sing the magnificat". The choir just SAT there waiting... I got the message eventually!

harrisey · 17/06/2007 21:00

I might just have offended half of MN on anthother religion thread.
Please pray I havent!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 17/06/2007 21:01

Glad things are not so bad & you enjoyed the take-away - yum! Praying for you both & for your meeting with the Head tomorrow - Do let us know how it goes - what time is it?? Glad Evensnog went ok too - don't worry about the "gliches" - merely "teething" probs!!

I just wasnt thinking when I was posting - hve had stresful weekend with MIL )who is usually great but was weird this weekend) and I was feeling a bit stroppy with the world when I posted, and now am worried I have pulled down all Christians on MN.

Sorry ladies

DutchOma · 17/06/2007 21:14

Hi Mary, Glad the 'sun did not set on your argument'. Happy that the service went well. Sorry I don't know the problem with ds, difficult to pray, but others are more informed and God will know all the problems and will support you through all the difficulty.
Rosey, how are things now? E.mail me if you like, I'm always so glad to hear from you.

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 17/06/2007 21:45

DON'T worry harrisey! {{{{hugs}}} sorry your MIL was weird this w/e.

DutchOma - I think you are FAB!

Hiya CD,

thanks as ever for new thread - you are tooo good to us.

Can you please pray for my friend - the one I told you about whose husband left after meeting another woman? and she had the wonderful God-incidence at the petrol station? Well, she just moved in to her new house 2 weeks ago and has been totally flooded last night . Her garden was waist high with muddy water!! She's such a brave lady, and has now had to move in with her (ex) in-laws . Whatever must she be thinking of whats happened to her in the last 2 months? One minute happily married with 2 lo's, the next separted, moved house and flooded out

Hope all are ok?

xxxx

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 17/06/2007 21:56

Gosh CC, poor lady. Will pray for her. xx

Jst finished my reflective paper.

DONE! Year 1 at Bible College OVER (bar the results - what we refer to as 'Judgement Day' on Tuesday)

Oh, and inishing placement. But that just doesnt seem real somehow.

MaryBS · 18/06/2007 07:35

Well done harrisey! What a relief! I'm sure you'll get brilliant results, like before. Don't worry about that post, just don't make a habit of it . People have short memories. You're not the only one thats made a fool of themself, I have before now. How is your DH? I hope and pray you can get sorted with your MIL.

CCM - praying for that poor lady. Was she insured? My brother went through the same thing in the Carlisle floods. His house took 6 months to dry out before work could begin on replacing floorboards, and then replacing everything downstairs (new kitchen, the lot). I must say now, his house looks absolutely gorgeous now! He took the opportunity to get his kitchen remodelled just how he wanted it. All the work cost about £50,000 though!

DO - thank you for the prayers. DS is 5, nearly 6, and is absolutely lovely (affectionate, good natured), but he has problems with his speech, its still not very clear. He also has problems with social interaction, and gets very upset in new situations (curls into a ball). The school arranged for him to see an Ed Psych, and I was there when he was tested. A lot of what she said to my face seemed to be negated by what she put in the report. So we're meeting with the head to discuss it. I want to know where we go from here. Every now and again, the subject of "mild aspergers" and "autistic spectrum" comes up, but this isn't coming from the school, or the Ed Psych, so hopefully that is a positive sign.

Well done CD on your summary! This is obviously your ministry to us!

DutchOma · 18/06/2007 08:39

Thank you CDSB for your kindness, that means such a lot.
Thanks Mary for explaining about ds, will he be with you in Oxford? I'm so looking forward to that, are we to have instructions as to where to go? It's NQGU who organises it and she is going (has gone) on holiday?
Where is the lady whose house was flooded? I know we've had some floods so if she is near...?
Harrisey, I looked on some of the other threads, maybe not the one you are referring to. What I've seen seems alright to me. Are you feeling better?
On the whole I stand in awe of all of you, so much input, so many troubles.
Blessings to all

PandaG · 18/06/2007 09:15

How is everyone else??

ZipadiSuzy · 18/06/2007 11:55

Morning all you lovely lot

CC - Sorry to hear of your friends flooded new house, prayers for her life to improve. How are you atm?

Mary - Prayers for today, hope everything goes ok, let us know the outcome of the meeting.

CD - prayers for you and your house guest this week/end, how lovely, new mummies getting together, all those scrumptious new babies together

Oooooops, look at the time!!! 'ITS TIME FOR LUNCH! playschool in 45 minutes!

fannyannie · 18/06/2007 11:58

well the shoulder is better - but could do with some prayers to help me sorting out DS3's feeding. He's suddenly started getting hysterically upset when I try and feed him - combination of desperating trying to latch on (and failing) and arching his back and pulling away (screaming when both thing occur).

Gave him a bottle of expressed milk this morning - and have a bottle of formula made up ready in case I need it later but it's just so hard to deal with it when your LO is screaming for up to 1hr and there's nothing you can do to help........could be colic - could just be having a few 'off days' - but want to get it sorted.....

ZipadiSuzy · 18/06/2007 12:08

big whoops, the twins have fallen asleep whilst I caught up with e-mails, think I might be late for playschool now, oh well.

FA - aw little sweetie, I'd phone the midwife or hv for some advise, the feeding problem would stress me out aswell, poor wee mite, big prayers to sort your little precious one out! and post if you need us for support.

Notquitegrownup · 18/06/2007 12:48

Ooh, prayers for you lo, FA. If it is colic, there is a magic medicine that you can get on prescription or over the counter called Colief (it's about £10 a bottle, but worth every penny)

CaptainCaveman · 18/06/2007 13:45

Friend is in Retford (north notts)

Second your recommendation for Colief NQGU, worked wonders for ds.

Am gong to try my hardest to make the meet-up!

ZipadiSuzy · 18/06/2007 14:35

Well didn't get to playschool, twins woke up all sniffly with another cold [grr]

CCM - I would have liked to make the meet but DS has organised things with his school mates as last week at school together before they get split up moving schools (year 7 in sept, my baby!)

Plus we have the village yearly show, and I have to tow bouncy castle for work.

I have been drilling my brain of a way to get there but have come against brick walls, I can't drive out of notts, could catch train, but a bit daunting by myself with 3yo twins, let me know how you are getting there CC ya never know, god might guide me there.

bobsmum · 18/06/2007 14:44

Just popping in to say hi.

Our friend who had the heart attck is home now - hurrah! But not allowed to do anything for a few weeks. He's not impressed

Dh's contract with his current job comes to an end on August 31st then he'll be out of work again if nothing comes up. Ds starts school on August 20th, so it would be good if the Lord could have lined something up by then? But then he did give us 6 months of redundancy last year which was a steep learning curve. I'm just hoping we don't need to learn any more atm .

Ho hum.
