mummy to teven it should do. Paps yes it does feel like teh othe rinsights build up the theort base and the fifth is just about you. i understood a bit more after readin the first bit of the 6th but I think these 2 will be th ehardest to master s iot requires alot of reflection whilst the others were more of a mind set to get into

you have got the good mumsnet spelling down Gothicmama

The 4th insight is difficult for everyone because it is the most realistic in my mind. I mean we can have ideals about how we see things but interactions with others can either make us protective of our energy space or dent holes in it.. I read yesterday that someone here said that there self esteem is good but there are holes. It is not that conflict or unhappy times are going to go away which is why the 5th is good - it reinforces how good it is to get off ya theoretical backside and make the energy you understand / feel an active continum.
Have not read the 6th yet...

mummytosteven -- I think the experiential guide does explain stuff BUT I do think that alot of reflection and insight is gained from reading the book - so I reckon it would be very worthwhile reading the story too. Does the library have it and it is just on loan?

papillon · 14/07/2004 13:17

hi gm
keen to discuss these hardnuts soon - will find my thinking cap and come back for discussion in afew days time

melsy · 14/07/2004 14:01

G mama. Not feeling to well today to talk too much , But I would love to get right into the nitty grittys of this more very soon.

I feel that the 4th is the hardest to master and I think its the kind of area that you get faced with continualy through your life. I would love to hear your theorys on hiw to master it. Is it that when you learn how to gather energy from natural sources you dont allow this kind of energy draining behaviour to affect you ???

mummytosteven · 14/07/2004 14:25

hope you don't mind a daft question from a complete newbie to this thread - 4th and 5th insight from where? sounds interesting.. tho I guess I would have to master insights 1 - 3 before being able to discuss 4 and 6

gothicmama · 14/07/2004 14:28

mummyto steven its from a book called the celestine prophecy by James Redfield it is a really interesting story .
Look forward to talking more about this later

I think the struggle for power is so obvious in everyday life and almost every interaction you make.
(Didn't know that was what was happening till i read it though).
I found that when i first read the book, my relationship with my mam changed alot as i'd back down and not fight her all the time for energy.(IFSWIM!!)
That was 10 years ago and i'm sure i've fell into bad habits recently.

Will come back later to see what others think.
gothicmama, good thread+

mummytosteven · 14/07/2004 14:30

thanks gothicmama - will see if the library does it!

melsy · 14/07/2004 14:33

Its from Celestine prophecy by James redfeild. It came out 10 - 11 yrs ago and we read it then but some are new to its magic and we are all working through it together. Please feel free to join in wherever you would like to . It really is a wonderful way of looking at life. It is lovely to see newbies to our discussion. We have several threads started on it around this board.

melsy · 14/07/2004 14:34

oooppps I started that and someone came to the door . Youve all beat me to it!!!!!

gothicmama · 14/07/2004 14:46

I think alot of the struggle for power is how we all have apath to follow adn some people need to feel in control and more powerful .. I think everyone has friends who make them feel better and friends who mak eyou feel drained. I think the essence of the 4th is to make you aware of these power struggles which like angeliz says are obvious once you are aware taht as aconcept they exist. Once you are aware you can then work towards either withholding transferring energy to people and resist taking it or you can work towards the continued source of energy which appears to be pur e love and appreciation for teh beauty around us and for ourselves as products of this beauty .Look forward to discussing more later

bambi06 · 14/07/2004 23:44

thanks for reminding me about the book, i read them all and it fascinated me and have since worked on my spiritual side a lot more.. its amazing what happens.. i find that when i surround myself with pure white light or pink it protects me and i project my light onto others that are aggressive towards me which not only helps me to remain calm in this controlling environment but they seem to back off abit, its all about spiritual protection and i personally vouch for it..you probably all think im some complete nutcase but heh if it works for me that makes me happy although it would also be nice to think that i might help others in the process.. i had a very interessting experience recently which convinced me that i was actually doing something real as i had my aura read with the latest equipment and they could actually see my healing above my head as i concenttrated on my protective white light( i had nt told them what i was doing to purposfully see if anything happened and they were amazed at what they saw and asked me what i was doing as they could visually see all this going on) it really convinced me after that that what i was doing was realy happening and now im completely hooked and want to experience so much more ...has any body else had some amazing experiences? please share

melsy · 15/07/2004 00:16

Firstly welcome bambi06, you are not a nutcase here. Your experiences are why I got this board started. Your experience sounds amazing. I hope you get a chance to read some more of the threads here. Look foward to discusing more here soon.

melsy · 15/07/2004 10:13

WERE IS EVERYONE ???

gothicmama · 15/07/2004 11:22

I found the 4th easier once I accpeted that the purpose of it is to just acknowledge that it happens and to be conciously aware of it when it does happen the 5th is about maintaining and gaining energy without taking it. The begginning of the 6th then looks at the methods people use to take energy from each other - I found it rather hard taking each one separately as they all seem to link together alto the 4th an d5th have to be mastered before moving into the rest of the 6th. It's like I ave realised that some of the behaviour I learnt as a child I revert to when I want energy from people and if someone is aggressive towards me I found I revert to how I usually react in this control drama so I must learn to confront in a positive way thes situaions in order to progress. Does this make sense to any one

Papillon · 18/07/2004 13:08

Just read the 5th in the experiential guide. Have experienced many of the energy manifestations they discuss... the kundalini and sporting highs. I have done some quite amazing things in sport actually, under huge pressure. My parents even have a painting that was done when I was once in that zone. When competing I have entered the place of peace and everything was possible because I had no fear of limitation. I just did it... like the Nike slogan... Just do it.

Holding that energy though does take practise and concentration which is why for me it makes sense that all the previous insights have predominately been about how you feel, while the 5th is about putting your feeling into practise. Yoga, mediatation etc. The actualisation of intent

Anyway that is my short spiel for now... see gothicmama you have not been totally desserted the regulars are around - albeit after some mulling time...

sibble · 18/07/2004 23:41

I am lurking here too, mulling things over...

mummytosteven · 18/07/2004 23:42

Couldn't find the proper book in the library, only the experiential guide - will it make enough sense without reading the original book?

melsy · 19/07/2004 12:11

I think that will give you a start with it, as there are referances to the book at the begining of each chapter. I quite like it as there are some really great excercises in it to help you put it all into life. I agree with paps though that it wojld be benficial to get hold of the actual book ,as it is truly a wonderful read.

I am rumintaing over the 4th still and doing some of the excersises to help me move forward.I feel knowing that awareness of the sturggle makes you wisened to whats going on. I can move on now to 5th understanding that it is not amtter of achieving nirvana with this insight but having the knowledged to do something with it. I have looked at the 5th and feel quite intune with what it is saying. I know now that I am doing a good job of increasing my energy in new ways, which will help me see the struggles from a more loving place. There is so much inn the experiential guide to work on my head is buzzing with it. I need to ponder some more.

May be it would be agood idea to do some of the group excersises ?????? I am writing a profile of my strengths from page 107 experiential guide. Im not sure I want to post it here. It may look showey to others not into this ???

gothicmama · 19/07/2004 15:28

I have not get experimental guide could someone post some of the exercises on here for 4th and 5th then perhaps everyone can can work on bits without posting personal stuff unless thewy want to

Insight 4 :

There is a huge amount of text for each of the exercises & several are group meditations which may not work on here. Theres a page of 9 questions on how we can discover self imposed obstacles. The purpose is to attain why we perpetuate unneccassary struggles to gain energy. There is then a pge of 6 intentions to help stay connected to energy. I will get round to typing it out at some period, as it covers nearly 4 pages so bare with me !!

For the time being I have chosen an exercise of the written grp work :

A profile of your strengths

Take 10 mins to come up with 3 of each of these qaulitites for your self below

Best physical attribute
Best mental abilities
Best Financial Moves you ever made
Most unusual characteristics
Best general Human attributes
Best social Skills
Best business skills
Most imortant interests
Single most important value
(e.g health,love , freedom, creativity)

Keep your list were you can see it frequently

I will come back with mine later as I have to be out of house in half hour.
