I sympathise. I would struggle to feel at home in that kind of church - at first anyway - but it might be worth persevering if you think it would be good for the rest of the family. After all songs you don't know are only songs you haven't learnt yet.

Didn't mean to post then... phone fingers. It sounds like you may have moved recently? In which case maybe it's worth trying out a few different churches to find one that suits you.

Christmassnake I'm Catholic and have received communion in an Anglican church. As far as I'm aware ( and I may have misunderstood) it is open to all, unlike Catholicism when you have to be Catholic to receive communion at a Catholic Mass. If you are enjoying where you are attending then just go with the flow.

I understand your predicament. There is a Presbyterian church right next door to us, very integrated into the local community and my husband is Presbyterian but it is quite new style too. We went there for a Christmas service. However ds has his first confession soon so we need to attend our local Catholic church for that and for the prep classes. It's a bus ride away. The community are lovely and I'm settling in. However I'd never have thought of that church because it is a distance from me!

Mind you ds turned to me after the Presbyterian Christmas service which had a rock band and comfy padded chairs and whispered 'I prefer it here to the other church!'. He finds the sacramental element of the Mass a bit technical and has expressed a dislike of kneeling. And the pews are too hard. I'm bringing a cushion to the next Mass

Christmasnake you can only be baptised once and you are baptised into the Christian faith. Whether that is Catholic or CoE or Mathodist. Baptists sometimes make an exception for people who were baptised as babies, but we are not talking about that now. So the CoE would accept you for communion if you were a believer, which obviously you are.
If you are still uneasy it might be good to have a word with the minister/vicar/priest whatever, but I don't think that would be too difficult.
Can I ask why you cannot attend a RC church?

Hello. Forgive me but I am in hospital I have had a accident I think I was hit by a car. I have excruciating pain in my bones and teeth and I think a kneck fracture. Please pray for me for a speedy and full recovery. I am self employed so I am worried about money and work.

I don't think from what I have been told it's my fault. I skidded and got out of my vehicle and then he skidded and hit me. Ouch!!!
Everyone has been filling me in and I pray for less pain, less sickness and to get well. Nothing is broken but I have a neck brace on and a fracture in the neck. My teeth are bad and sore and I feel sick but my catheter came out today and I waddled to the bathroom with two nurses. Please pray for me to improve.

Oh dear Don't I am so sorry to hear this. I am going to pray for you - for healing and for peace of mind. I know you are worried about money, but I will pray your clients understand and that the Lord in some way provides, so you might concentrate on resting. It sounds a terrible accident and not at all your fault

It is good that you can walk and have managed the loo. I pray that you are looked after well and have all the support (and painkillers!) you need so you can recover and heal. May God bless you and be with you.

Oh sweetheart, I am so sorry to hear that. Yes definitely prayers for you to improve, what an awful thing to happen. If the accident was not your fault the insurance should cover you for loss of earnings while you recover, so don't jeopardise your recovery by getting back to work too quickly.

oh dear Lord Don't - how horrific for you. I hope you recover quickly. You must feel like your world has been up-ended. I hope your family pull together to give you a hand. They must have had such a shock too. I will say a prayer for a quick recovery but, as Dutchoma wisely says, don't hurry back to work.

Thank you. Mum then dh and the dc have visited me. Yesterday the inlaws. They are really amazing and I am so lucky.

I didn't think about the insurance company for loss of earnings. I was told I travelled down an icy Road and after a brief non incident got out to look at my car. The road was slippery but I was ok and my car too. It's at this point I was hit by another car. They called 999 and stayed with me. I feel so sore and weak. In a major trauma ward recovering. With prayer and meds it's better x

Things here are ok...
Dh now works away more (promotion)
Ds1 is now 13 and choosing his gcse options (!!!?)
Ds2 (8) is still having health issues but since his op no more tonsillitis!! Yay!!
Mum is still struggling without dad 😞 although she seems better now than in oct/Nov (she was telling me she wanted to die in October!)
My sister has a difficult time with her dh (loooong story!!)
I now work very pt at my sons school as a 1-1 for dc with additional needs - I've been there a year now.
All in all it's been an odd year (global issues aside!!) and I sincerely hope for better this year!

Welcome christmassnake. I go to a 'lively' church and do love it but I know different styles suit different people. Might be worth having a look at it though and seeing how you feel. :)

for oma at the post christmas period.
for pas grandson.. at which point I fell asleep until ds woke me up at midnight complaining he was still awake. (eek)

I am up because I have been poorly on and off all day feeling sick. though it was minecraft motion sickness as I am prone to it in all forms (half a turn on the roundabout and a glance at a map in the car is enough) but my tummy is grumbling all the way along so it may be a bit of a dodgy tummy.

Ps I am not baptised COE and take communion... never been an issue.

Very quick stop off, chicken pox city, I've escaped to work, supposed to be going on holiday on Sunday but dependent on GP appointment on Thurs (and on DS not coming out in spots). Also DS birthday party Sat.

Back to wading through 65 million emails!

bes prayers that you feel better. Thank you for your prayers, i expect the Fuckwittery to resume as legal offices open here tomorrow. I need to decide mediation or court; H might take the latter decision anyway, although I am advised this would be premature. Mostly though I am praying for more time to address DS's day to day needs and to be able to focus on both DC and my life here. There is such a difference in DS when he is not overloaded, still needs careful planning and managing his day but not fire-fighting iyswim. Hate the fire-fighting but I think you get that too!

Consultant told me that I can't drive for six months due to the head injury. I am self employed and absolutely depend on my driving though.

Nice that someone else could drive to enable him to drive into me in the first place.

Hoping to be discharged home tomorrow.

My dc and dh have been absolutely brilliant. I am so proud and blessed with them. The dc are grown up into considerate and thoughtful and sensible people. They work like a well oiled machine. I need to be more appreciative and less quick to moan. I am a fast doer and need to hand over the slack to my extremely capable family. If anything good came from the accident, its my realisation of just how wonderful they are and how I don't appreciate them and I owe them an apology on galactic terms! Forgive me for I have misjudged and moaned! I am so blessed, seriously.

That is going to be very difficcult Dont, I hope you find a way to get round it. Take it easy of you do get discharged tomorrow.
I am so glad that at least some good has come out of your accident and sincerely hope that people don't just fall bak in expeting you to do everthing for them as soon as you are back home.
So many people quite a bit poorly at the moment, and it is so cold and miserable looking outside. Spring is on its way though.

back to school. lost a tie and a pe bag did not get sewn.

fucked up vestibular sytem... mainly due to earache and sinusses... but occasionally get a dizzy spell.

pray that it will clear up quickly as it has been hanging about ages.

Prayers for don't and badders and family, and drspouse, and bes, and MHD, and everyone posting or lurking.

Spare a thought if you can for my parents; it's a hellish week for them.

Thinking of Oma as it's the anniversary of her beloved Bob's final time and passing. She never seeks support and always helps others. I just wanted to let her know that I am keeping her in close thought and prayers. Hoping you are ok Oma xx
