hercules are you a priest??

melsy · 19/04/2004 22:27

Night wobbly, speak again I hope X

hercules · 19/04/2004 22:28

lol sophable .
No an re teacher. Very agnostic. I'd like to believe but cant quite bring myself to.

Heathcliffscathy · 19/04/2004 22:31

phew, i was worried that you were and that my winking emoticon would offend. i think the idea of an agnostic re teacher is a good one, less bias, but lots of interest...

hercules · 19/04/2004 22:34

I agree. My own re teacher was a complete atheist and our alevel re group was the biggest class in school. i had a shock going to uni to find re had a boring reputation.
I have to say it makes me cringe when I observe re teachers teaching it as the truth and fact rather than believe.
The more i learn about it the less i can even begin to believe it true. I find it fascinating that so many people do believe and can devote their lives to something like that.

Heathcliffscathy · 19/04/2004 22:38

i was raised catholic, but my dad is buddhist (ancestor worshippy souteast asian kind). i rejected the whole lot at about 11. now i believe, but am not religious or monotheistic. does that make any sense at all?

hercules · 19/04/2004 22:41

I had no religious upbringing and was never babtised aas a baby.

papillon · 20/04/2004 08:40

Morning all

Busy chit chat session last nite!! Thats good. I am glad to see people like to come and visit - even if some of the discussions are difficult to follow etc.

The introduction of a Spirit board could allow for a variety of thread levels so that people could participate more readily in the thread that most relates to them!

Yes then you can talk on the thread that most attracts you. As this is such a broad subject and there are so many different layers that everyone is bound to have a something to talk about.

juniper68 · 20/04/2004 11:01

Hi all,

snugs you didn't offend me in the least hun xx It's soooo difficult sometimes writing text as you don't get the whole picture iykwim? I was just putting my experiences as we're all on a journey but some are on different routes and paths.

Hercules, I agree about re teacher's not pushing their beliefs on the kids. Our teacher was obviously Christian and I learnt v little in her class. I was brought up without religion aethist dad/agnostic mum and am now christian. I've had so much proof by prayer that I'll never not believe but like I've said before and will become obvious by my messages I believe so much more.

melsy · 20/04/2004 11:05

I keep meaning to say I've recently started magnesium, a kinesiologist told me i was lacking in it. Have u ever looked up the symptoms of magnesium deficiency? I'm sure I've read PAs are one of them. Apparently most pre menopausal women are lacking in it so we should all be on it
