Hiya girls , a fresh new thread for us to chat on

Hallo
The 2nd insight for me is about what I called the mainstream technological religious history - especially western. And Melsy u made the comment that we have already gone through the many other insights over the years --
Which I agree with - especially with regards to the 2nd insight... from the individual standpoint and for alot humans on this planet re environmental awareness, not believing in War as a remedy for Peace.

I would suggest that the majority of westerners live in a mainstream environment with alot of technological input. Also, even if we are not spiritual or not religious - the element of God is a very actual concept in our society - whether people believe in God or not.

The 2nd insight maybe not a discussion point here.?. From my own personal perspective. And also from the perspective that I have felt it may deviate us away from the energy we are trying to share and build upon as perhaps it creates tension.

Hiya Papillon , how did u know I was online???!!

Just come back from brent x.

Do you mean in terms of it becoming a political discussion over our veiws of god exsiting and the effects of war and our opinions?? May we can find a way fo discussing it from a positive angle. I m not sure.

Linking this to phsychology , we are in a western sense are at the top of the pyramid . Like the maslow theory. The next step is evolvement of sprirutal living.

Do you think that others who do not feel this yet are still stuck in the 2nd insight??? Its just a hunch as it discusses secular living and materialistic progress and not much else.

For us to progress we would have to steer clear of fear conversations about how bad the world is etc.

I am sure that there are many people stuck as alot of people are very trapped in mundane life senarios. Hard not to be really.

papillon · 09/04/2004 16:37

Nothing wrong with nice stuff... I like it too. I mean to become more spiritual doesn´t mean we have to dress bad LOL

papillon · 09/04/2004 16:39

In fact, what I have seen, if u try and remove yourself from mainstream life too much then - wot u are trying to prove to others is often seen as odd ball, or ignored etc.

IKWYM , I think people can think it is cultish and that you are taken in by some charlaton entitiy. they may be worried to be friends with you because it is sooo alternative.

which is why i reckon it is good to have a healthy open mind with regards to spirituality.
Fear or bad has frequently been touted as something to avoid or not consider, but these days it is often the place that a person has to confront and consider to see what good can be.
I have always found the concept of good and bad to be necessary for growth and not to eliminate bad from my thinking.
gotta go and think about food now.

Morning all,
we're off to Whitby (N yorks) today.

IKWYM about coming across as 'oddball'. People tend to label you as eccentric if you look a bit different although I think we're getting more accepting myself.

I don't think there's anything wrong with thinking about the bad stuff that's wrong in this world. Ignorance isn't always bliss I believe strongly in prayer - whether Christian or not - and try to do so whenever I hear sad things about situations/people. Even if I see a drunk in the street I'll pray for them/send them positive vibes whatever you want to call it. I'm not trying to sound pious here I just wish everyone felt like us and loved each other more. I'm much more accepting of peoples faults/weaknesses as I have my own. If friends or family start negative conversations I try to turn it round gently without them noticing It's amazing how a mood can change in a moment

take care all xxxx
