Just that really. Anyone going to New Wine this summer?

Hoping to! Just got back from Alive! Conference where it was raised often. Would you go the 1st, or 2nd week?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 26/05/2014 18:08

Week two, and the Friday of week one as I'm speaking at a seminar that happens on both weeks.

It's really good, I went last year and had amazing experiences.

Get you, I'm impressed. I'll ask around at church on Sunday and see if I can raise a group. No one else in my family would be interested.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 29/05/2014 22:44

Do it! Even if only a few go its worth it. No one from my church goes so I go with friends who lived 30 miles away and people from there church. You tend to camp near other churches in your area so may be near people you know.

I'm in the midlands if you're anywhere nearby?

(The speaking bit sounds better than it is, I just have an interesting job for a church and someone from nw knows me and what I do)

Yep I'm going, to week A. I think I heard somewhere that one of the weeks was full already, not sure which?

I did a seminar last year but oop north, v sad that it's no longer there as loved the feel of it there. We did go to the Shepton one for many years though so it will feel very familiar, just bigger!

I'm in the midlands too Caulk ...

cheapskatemum · 04/06/2014 17:32

Quite a long way due east of the Midlands, east of pretty much everywhere as in East Anglia. Going for a Google to check out availability.

cheapskatemum · 04/06/2014 17:37

Only Day tickets left for week 1 and I have a friend coming to stay week 2. Maybe next year. Have an amazing time.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/06/2014 18:44

Madhairday...

Oooh, I wonder if we do? Could this be the outing of me on mn? It's quite likely you know/have heard of my boss as she is a pioneer and gets asked to do stuff and that a lot.

I'm going

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/06/2014 18:58

Ilovestrictly -

Which week?

OP posts:
ilovestrictly · 04/06/2014 18:59

oops ...posted before i was ready!! I'm going to week 1 again this year ...fourth year in a row now. Will be interesting to see how busy it is this year if week 1 is full ...i struggled with the different format last year and the loss of venue1 and venue2 to flip between.

madhairday · 04/06/2014 19:01

Ã’oh caulk. .. my dh is a pioneer.

Will PM you when not on phone.....

madhairday · 04/06/2014 19:02

There is a new venue 2 this year strictly - impact, which has been in the north for a few years now (and is fab)

ilovestrictly · 04/06/2014 19:09

ooh thanks madhair! There was a small 'urban' option last year (equivalent of tearfund tent size) but it became so popular they asked people to return to the arena and to leave the venue for the urban churches. I've heard too that the fridge will be open later in the evening for the junior age children, so sounds like the children's work has been reviewed to. Starting to stockpile couscous and m&s tinned curry!

ilovestrictly · 04/06/2014 19:12

Caulk - i tend to start packing up during the seminars on Friday ...are you speaking in the morning or afternoon??

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/06/2014 19:23

Friday afternoon at 2.

My dc love the Fridge! Although DD is now in Club One so has the Flava Cafe thingy. They've been through every group from Gems on

Will look out for your seminar, Caulk - can you say what subject it is on? Have you done one before at NW? I was bricking it last year but in the end loved doing it!

madhairday · 05/06/2014 09:50

Strictly I am going week 1 as well....maybe we need an MN badge/handshake? Grin

We've been the last 5 years but to Newark. No one from our church is going this year because it's just too far. It's such a shame because last year we took more than 40 :(

Hope you enjoy it. We will really miss it. Last year my DDs were on the Gems and Groundbreakers teams and they had a fantastic time.

madhairday · 05/06/2014 09:56

Oh Julie that is a shame. We also went to Newark since 2007 and will really miss it. I have heard of a lot of churches up North not being able to make it down there. It's such a shame, but they couldn't make up the loss :( They are hoping to start it again one day.

ToFollowJulie · 05/06/2014 10:01

As soon as it comes back we'll go! We'd actually have made the journey if others from our church had been able to do it with us. To go alone seemed like too much of a leap for us as one of the best things was getting together with our own church after the evening meeting and hearing about what everyone else had done that day while we waited for children to come back from the fridge full of sweets and the excitement of unexpected liberty!

CaulkheadUpNorth · 05/06/2014 10:47

My talks on "growing leaders in urban areas" and about growing people from within the church as leaders.

OP posts:
madhairday · 05/06/2014 10:59

Sounds good - will try and get along to it as it's what we're doing here :)

ROUNDandROUNDINCIRCILESMORETHA · 06/06/2014 22:31

Aw i am not going but dh and daughter are with friends. I thought would let them investigate first as i'm concerned about the scale of the sight and have mobility probs sounds exciting though.
