Hi everyone,

I only have a little bit of time - we are going on holiday tomorrow. Really looking forward to it, but very complicated packing for a wedding and then camping with a two year old!

First of all, I have been keeping up with your posts and praying for all of you.

Katz - so sorry about the job, but it must mean there's something better waiting for you. Hugs

CD - your poor dd, hope she feels better soon

Puddingz - that is so sad, heartbreaking in fact. I pray that God comforts them at this time, I cannot imagine whwat they are going through.

Nanou - Congrats to your husband, that is great news.

Mary - I am praying for you about your job

NQSTM - Oh, I sympathise, my dd also suffers from excema and it keeps her awake at night. The doctor gave us some anti-histamines to give at bedtime and they have really helped. Have you tried that?

Big hugs to everyone who is feeling down, expecially lwtg and pudmog you are all in my prayers. Sorry to anyone I have missed.

A huge thankyou to everyone on this thread - I don't know if you have been praying for me, but I think you must have been! God has blessed me with some amazing insights into my depression and anxiety and I have had an amazing weekend writing in my journal, eating really well (a big problem for me) and feeling quite positive!! So huge thankyou!!! We will be back from holiday in 10 days, so see you then.

Pudmog · 11/07/2006 11:12

This is an anzing thread and thank you to all who have prayed. I do pray for you all and give thanks for the good and weep for the not so good.

My situation is ongoing and sometimes just wears me down as it is unavoidable if I go to church. My dh is angry about it- not at me but for me. We will get through- as you can see I have good days and bad.

I also want to thank God wholeheartedly that dd2 has got the teacher she wants next year and from my point of view I am thrilled that she has been separated from a particular child who tends to dominate the friendship.

PandaG · 11/07/2006 12:38

Nanou - fantastic, tell your DH that some virtual friend on a random website says well done!!!

Footprint - hoping and praying you have a lovely holiday, glad to hear you are feeling a bit brighter. I will prob be on holiday by the time you get back, but catch up in the middle of August!

Pudmog, you seem brighter today, I'm glad. Praying that you will have more good days than bad ones, and that the bad ones will get fewer and fewer.

CD, how's DD2? Praying for you too.

Puddingz, if you're around, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends today

love to yiou all.

Nanou1 · 11/07/2006 16:26

Hi everybody. Gosh I miss my dd so much. She seems a bit grumpy on her first day. It is going to be a long week?
PandaG ? thank you so much for your kind words and your prayers. Since you seem to be very good at it, can I ask you to pray for me to get off my youknowwhat and get on with some cleaning when I get home tonight?
Pudmog ? thinking of you. I agree this is an amazing thread. Great news about your dd2; you must be relieved! Glad you are feeling better ? must be so hard? you are brave [hugs].
Footprint- thanks so much and well done you!. Have a great time on your holiday but? don?t forget us!!! And well done for keeping up . Am so glad to read that you are better. I think we have something truly special going on in this thread? am I the only one to feel that the bond we have formed is just getting stronger and stronger and making our prayers very effective? And that?s all thanks to CD our great team leader . CD. My pleasure! How is your dd? . did you friend had her operation? How is she? Hope your throat gets better soon. Thank you for your prayers too. It is a relief that is for sure. If all goes well though, we will have to move to Buckinghamshire since dh will work in Milton Keynes because of the hours etc. am quite looking forward to it as it will be a new start and hope we will find a new church as good as the present one. Will miss the good people we have met here. Anyone from Buckinghamshire? Can you recommend nice part of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas ? quite fancy village, small town.
PUDDINGZ? so much pain for your friend?. Have been praying for them and hope things were ok. Surely this has to be the worst thing for any mother? this is too upsetting . And prayers for you too as you will need to be strong for your friend too.
KATZG. I agree that you are an inspiration to us all. And well done for bouncing back so quickly. Your turn will come for the better.
NQSTM? how nice to read you - praying for you both. Must be painful too? dd has a bit too but thankfully it seems to get better at the mo.
MaryBS ? lol . thank you for trying you ok? Well done for raising so much money and ggrrh to the head - go figure!!!??. Praying for you to cope with work. It is bad enough to have to work (isn't?!), but to hate it as well makes it so much worse. Where are you based again? Not reading much these days I am afraid. Must remedy to that soon. Going to the library tonight!!! Very impressed with your dh. Whilst I was in france, my dh was at church at 8.30am on Sunday to help out (lol as he likes his lay in on Sunday am!!!) til 2pm. Thank you Lord
How are you keeping LWTG? Was it a nice meeting? How are your grandparents? It is ok to cry you know. Don?t worry about what people might think. Maybe they are thinking ?how would she react if I gave her a hug? Poor thing looking so unhappy?? I would think it but would never dare asking someone if they want a hug I don?t think ? there again, if they looked anything like pearce brosnan? [sigh]. I cried twice in church. One I can?t remember why and the other was on mother?s day. The vicar asked all the kids to come and collect a little plant near him and each child had to give one to their mummy to celebrate mother?s day. It was so moving? and there I was crying because I was thinking of all my lost babies through miscarriages and crying because i was so grateful to be given dd though ivf? I did feel so silly?
Chilly ? do you have an update for us? Praying hard, finding it so heartbreaking when children are in hospital.
Pudmog ? I just don?t know how you do it girl!? Praying to give you strength and peace.
Xavielli ? happy birthday to your dp! How did it all go? Hope you were feeling better for it too. And praying for your poor sister. So .
Sorry If I have missed anyone? hugs and prayers to all. x

puddingz · 11/07/2006 16:43

Gonna start blubbing again. Thank you all for your love and prayers today. The service was beautiful. The little one travelled in a white carriage pulled by white horses - he would have been chuffed. Beautiful service - packed church - a sunny day. We could not have asked for more. God gave the family a beautiful boy whose life touched and shaped so many around him and for that everyone felt blessed. Thank You God.

Nanou1 · 11/07/2006 16:49

puddingz... thank you for letting us know. what happened to the little boy? illness or accident? this is so

puddingz · 11/07/2006 17:06

hit and run

longwaytogo · 11/07/2006 17:10

Pudingz glad it went ok and praying for strength for you and this family.

Footprint so glad you are feeling a bit better - have a brill holiday.

CD Was thinking before I read the post by Nanau that you are brill at keeping this thread updated Thanks

Nanau I bet that your dd will be so settled by the time its time to come home that she won't want to, and now you will be able to celebrate without worrying about babysitter.

Spoke to my mum yesterday my Nan isn't very good, very battered and bruised. Even though they still had the shop open yesteday morning for a couple of hours. As for me i'm alright, really need to concentrate on praying and picking up my Bible.

CaptainDippy · 11/07/2006 21:42

Hello all - Not much time to post as have stuff to organise for tomorrow, but you are in my thoughts and prayers - So glad that the service etc was so beautiful Puddingz - a real tribute to a gorgeous little boy, I expect. Hit and Run. That is just so unspeakably awful. I cannot even begin to express the emotion I feel. Just terrible. I am so sorry that your friends had to loose their beautiful little one in such tragic circumstances. So much love to them. xx

Glad your DD is getting on in France Nanou1 - It will be ok!!

Best go - heads in a whirl!!

Very quick visit, been out this evening - PCC meeting, just got in. Lots to pray for I know, will try to do a longer post in the morning.

Praise God! The PCC have given me a book grant for my training! £200pa! And they're giving me the first year's grant up front! Great news, especially as I've ordered my first 2 books from Amazon...

CaptainDippy · 11/07/2006 22:27

Fantastic news MaryBS - God will provide, eh!?

OP posts:
MaryBS · 12/07/2006 06:24

CD - He certainly will! . Thing is, I wouldn't have had the nerve to ask for myself, but M. (the Vicar) asked if the 'book grant' was still available for those studying, and when the subject of how much came up, he pointed out I would be serving 3 parishes, so should get the 'full' amount. Then the treasurer came up and said she'd pop the cheque through my door soon...
I also found out more about whats happening with the hall and access for the children. It looks like we may have to get tough to get what we want. The church hall committee say its not their responsibility, its the parish council's - the parish council say the opposite. There is a problem with giving access because they say the insurers are unhappy about us having a key, plus there is a 'child protection issue'. Even the gate which goes between the church and the hall has been padlocked by their committee, although its 'our' gate. There is also a secondary aspect of access to toilet facilities. It was a condition of sale that anyone using the church could use the loos. Only they changed the development so the loos were inside the hall, rather than an outside toilet block - we've been told it could be 'years' before it is resolved! Ridiculous isn't it? There is a meeting on 27th of the hall committee - pray that it goes our way, or the PCC will be writing to the diocese claiming breach of contract - we are prepared to go to the law over this, but only if its necessary.

Puddingz - praying for that poor family... hit and run... a nightmare. Have they caught the person responsible? How can they live with themselves? Now, after the funeral, it is when reality sinks in. That family need prayers more than ever.

Nanou1 - DD will settle in, praying for her and for you. I'm based in Cambridge. Glad DH got the job. Don't feel guilty about being happy re: DH, think of it as praising God for his goodness to you! Good luck with the house hunting. From what I remember of Milton Keynes, you're better off being in one of the villages outside and travelling in. I'll ask DH what he knows about living round there, he's travelled to there for work before now.

Talking of DH, I came home from the PCC meeting, saying I'd heard he'd volunteered to get the BBQ ready for the Vicarage funday on Sunday, while the rest of us are in church. He told me 'it was vaguely mentioned at the men's group', and that M. had better ask him if he wants him to do it... after all, HE might want to go to church as well Good to see him joking about it...
Oh and while we're on the subject, pray we get lots of people at the funday. The organisation seems to have gone a bit awry, and the tickets haven't been sold - I only got mine last night, and when I saw one of the mums yesterday morning, she said she and her family DID want to go - so thats another 5. So it looks like they need to phone around say, 'yes, people can still go, we need to know numbers' - the deadline was last Sunday you see.

lwtg - praying for your family and your nan in particular. It will have been a shock for them, but God is good and I pray that he will lift them up and support them when they need it.

NQSTM - praying for some rest for you and some peace for your daughter at night. I guess the warm nights aggravate it? Does cooling her down help? If so, have you tried that Magicool spray? What about a fan in her room?

Sorry if I've missed anyone, praying for you all.

Nanou - yes I do feel as if there is a bond building up here - I really feel as if our prayers are achieving something!

MaryBS · 12/07/2006 06:57

Flying visit -

Nanou1, spoke to DH, he suggested Woburn and Olney as nice villages near MK. Woburn I know, because of the Safari park, and IS lovely
