A MN friend asked me for positive vibes and I thought that others might be into sharing good energy and intent.

Glitterfairy would appreciate some good positive vibes for Monday at 12pm !

Thanks guys gscrym sometimes it is meant though. I did not get one job and was really upset only to get another one which was much harder but better paid and actually more challenging.

Hi gf, thanks for asking

She is still quite up at the moment, sends her thanks to all you spiritual ladies for your good wishes and positive energy.

Has a pre-op assessment on Thursday morning, then into hospital Monday for op Tuesday.

A sign of how up she is feeling, she has just rung to inform me that she has booked an apartment for a summer holiday next year - a fortnight away with me, dh and the kids.

Fab I will think of her on the days of her op and send her nursing good wishes from me!

Am sending positive thoughts to Samhains mum today!

Op 'went to plan', which is about the best you can get out of a staff nurse these days!

She went down to theatre at about 10 and I was told to ring at lunch time. So I duly rang at noon, 1, 2 and 3 o'clock - each time to be told she wasn't back on the ward. I was starting to get a bit edgy so couldn't last another hour but luckily when I rang at 3.30 she was finally back.

Just waiting for an update from my aunt who is at evening visiting (I still can't go because of my cold )

How bad is your cold? To be honest if it is on the way out I woudnt worry and yes I am a nurse!

Can barely take a breath without coughing and sneezing, I am a walking mass of aerosolised germs.

I am getting better though so hopefully tomorrow (fingers crossed)

Zinc is my cure for this kind of thing I take it all winter and so far havent had a bad cold in two years or used my inahlers! Still sending those positive thoughts.

First full on cold in 3 years. I think it is because I started working with the new foundation class at school in September so all those lovely 'new term' bugs are getting me.

Update courtesy of my aunt: in some considerable pain, understandably enough. Usual monitors and a saline drip plus a small oxygen line. All goes well, home at the weekend.

I'm definately going to visit tonight.

How was Spinel last night SG?

Amazing considering it was only 1 day after the op.

No drips or monitors, just one dinky little bag to carry around with all her drains in. Up and about, bored out of her mind, desperate to come home.

I spoke briefly to one of the nurses who said they are all astounded at how fast she is recovering and they fully expect her to be out earlier than originally mooted.
