good morning - God be with each of you this morning in all your trials and give you peace in every hour, thinking of you all

madhairday · 22/06/2012 12:29

Praying for your MIL, Panda and for wisdom for you in decisions.

Lost, I love 'How to talk..' and dh and I have found it invaluable in the way we interact with the dc, would highly recommend though I don't agree with every little thing in it Wink

Mary praying really specifically for some joy in your life. Sometimes things can seem so joyless especially when things keep happening that are rubbish. I am thinking on joy at the moment, on finding joy in God despite circumstances, after reading an article in Christianity magazine about God delighting in our joy in him. IN the past sometimes in the most intense times of suffering God has somehow broken through - not taken the suffering away but given me that sense of joy in him amid it all. I'm asking for some now, and will be asking for you too.

DO hope the gp gets their act together today.

Only a few days IV left now thankfully. So very exhausted from it. Praying for you all.

creatovator · 22/06/2012 18:34

Thanks for the welcome back and waves. Things are going have gone from good to better for us this week. We've found out that DCs are getting same great teachers next session. PTL

Praying for everyone, particularly Weegie. I've gone through times like that when I had ME. I used to have a good rant at God at times.... and still do when I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just praying that God will show you His love and you will feel supported.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 22/06/2012 21:25

Thanks for your prayer jan ( haven't read all of thread yet, but that caught my eye)

I went to the funeral of a colleague today - she died fairly young (50's) and was obviously fondly remembered - as you know I've not been in the job that long so I didn't know her as well as some who've been there for many years. Made you think about what was important in life.

We sang "Abide with me"

  • a great hymn which includes the words "I need thy presence every passing hour" - so that goes so well with your prayer jan

Have had a good, reflective day. Have been on Mumsnet quite a bit, on various thought provoking threads. Has been quite a blessing, and helpful.

Thoughts and prayers for all x

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 22/06/2012 22:21

amberlight · 22/06/2012 22:32

(((hug)))

and prayers for everyone

Tuo · 23/06/2012 00:06

Hello all...

Hugs and prayers to you, BES.

Prayers for Mary (good to see you!) for joy in your life and for fewer problems and more bounce. [tigger] Hmm Also praying for everyone who's finding life tough atm, but especially Oma - I hope you got some help from the GP today.

Continued and ongoing prayers for health for weegie and MHD, and for Bob and Panda's MIL.

Prayers for your colleague, Juggling, and for her family and friends. I love 'Abide with me'; it's one of the hymns my gran used to sing over and over on the toilet when she lived with us after she'd had a stroke. It was also sung at a particularly poignant funeral (of a young person) that I was at recently.

Praying, in particular, at the moment for Blue, that all continues to go well with your pregnancy and that you get support through these next stressful weeks.

Thinking also of lost, PA, FoD, Faith, MomeRaths and her LM and anyone else I've forgotten.

I am tired and finding it really hard to focus on the things that I really need to do atm. I have to go into work tomorrow too, which won't help. But I'll be OK... just need to get myself into bed before 1 a.m. for a change.

Tuo · 23/06/2012 00:07

Bother... forgot jan and creatovator... you too, of course!

jan2011 · 23/06/2012 09:02

aw Tuo :) thinking of you for work today. and those who need strength and hugs BES and those who need healing, and God to break through in their situation. and God to just be that friend that noone else can be.

been struggling here don't know what else to do except keep on going on and try to move on from my failures (which are a lot at the minute). i have a lot coming up - i start intensive training for a voluntary job next week - its a stressful role, and im concerned about it as i thought id be in a much better place by now. i want to be able to do it, and not worry that arguments or health will prevent me or make it all overwhelming. keep leaving things in Gods hands. please pray for stability in my life

creatovator · 23/06/2012 10:55

Tuo thanks for your prayers. Praying for peace and strength for you.

Praying for breakthrough for everyone in every way. We've been having some small ones and some big ones, so sharing the anointing around.

Woke up with a really sore back today which I've not had for years, though I tend to have a constant niggle which I don't really notice anymore.

Could you pray for wisdom for me and DH. We're thinking of moving within the next 8 months or so for DS's schooling. His teacher is very confident he will be able to cope with mainstream when he goes into secondary. He's got another 2 years in primary. Unfortunately the local secondary is too big which means a placing request or we move. As I feel I need to be nearer the country we're looking at moving (I wasn't well for a few months last year and at the beginning of this year, and part of it is down to city life). We need to decide where to go for schools regarding both DS and DD so that they can get to know some people. Thing is we're looking at something in a different council area. DS is doing so well in his current school that it's hard to think of him moving, but it will require a miracle for us to be able to keep him where he is if we move into the area we're looking at. We're also not sure whether to go mainstream with support (he could do it with a lot of support according to his current school Smile). He needs lots of transition time though. We're also first time buyers and have a small deposit, but need a house within our budget, which are few and far between.

Sorry long post... hope it makes sense Confused.

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 23/06/2012 11:43

DO special prayers for the 'small' things that build up to make a whole big heap of things. (((hugs)))

CheerfulYank · 24/06/2012 03:58

By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me?
a prayer to the God of my life.

weegiemum · 24/06/2012 08:42

You'd never have thought it was possible but I went to a festival yesterday! It's a wee christian artsy festival called Solas (Gaelic for light) that's on in the Borders. Last 2 years dh and I have volunteered but obv couldn't this year. So we borrowed some walking poles and went for the day. Kids had a ball, dh sat on a sofa in the Christian Aid cafe tent all day and dozed, i went to a Gospel singing workshop and 4 really interesting talks/seminars, including an hour with the new moderator of the church of Scotland who had brought his band along!
Saw lots of people I knew, drank waaaay too much coffee and still slept like a log last night! I'm stiff and a bit sore today, but who could have expected me to cope? I even was able to walk the prayer labyrinth, which was very interesting and moving.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 24/06/2012 08:48

Oh how wonderful Weegie Smile

DutchOma · 24/06/2012 10:55

Weegie, what an answer to prayer. Hold on tight to this experience so that you will have a Psalm 42 experience in the bright times as well as the dark.

Bob slept well in the night, using his machine

madhairday · 24/06/2012 11:48

That's brilliant weegie and has put a big smile on my face. Hope you don't suffer too much today for it. Lovely lovely.

PandaG · 24/06/2012 13:59

great news Weegie and DO. Continuing to pray for you all.

MIL is at home after her surgery, is a fortnight till she goes back to find out what is next. We offered to go and visit, but FIL said not to. Praying for peace as we wait for results.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 24/06/2012 15:15

Lovely to hear of you walking the prayer labyrinth at the festival weegie - sounds like a really wonderful day Smile

PositiveAttitude · 24/06/2012 17:33

Lovely to hear good news Weegie and I am pleased Bob had a good night DO

Well, I pasted a fake smile on my face and got through church this morning without strangling anyone! Only 3 more Sunday's to go! The 4th Sunday from now we will be the other side of the world and we can just enjoy a church service with no political undertones! YAY I can't wait!
Last week of work for me this week. It is looking absolutely madly chocka block. Out or busy every evening, too. When am I going to get the time for packing the house up?

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 24/06/2012 17:37

Ooh, exciting adventure PA !

redwhiteandblueeyedsusan · 24/06/2012 21:14

oh heck... there was an incident at church this morning. i am considering calling the police. eek.

lostmywellies · 24/06/2012 21:20

Wow, bes, hope things are ok. Praying.

Just racing through and have only read the last post on the thread. Will read through properly tomorrow. Today is/was ds's 5th birthday. It's been a lovely day. Things have been better this week since I spoke to dd1 and dd2 about the things I wasn't happy with and have been firmer with ds, too. Thank you for your prayers. Was still feeling TOTALLY unappreciated and not sure when I'd get any recognition of the things I do... but today I had so many nice comments from the dcs, including "this is the BEST birthday present EVER!" from ds. So am feeling very happy about all that. DH almost ruined it - was spiteful about the cake I made as he knows I'm proud of my creations (though he probably doesn't realise the nervousness with which I make them!), and managed to be apologetic about it, too - can I say wtf on this thread?!?

Anyway, he's not ruining it. Off out for a quick cycle/pray before the light goes.

JugglingWithTangentialOranges · 24/06/2012 21:30

Glad you've had a good day for DS's birthday lost

An apology is something after cake comment ?

My DH is very slowly learning to apologise occasionally - it's slow progress Hmm

(Hmm is nearest emoticon I can get to a slightly weary raised eyebrow !)

amberlight · 24/06/2012 22:08

Much prayer...
