I thought it was time to set up a new thread for Christmas.

Will just leave it short and give you all the opportunity to add your own prayers.

Nickelbabe Prayers of thanks for the delivery of her little girl, continuing prayers for her and the baby. We look forward to you to be able to update us.

MHD prayers that the medical team will get their act together, but also that you will be able to be at home and stay at home over Christmas.

Soozi we know how hard things have been for you for such a long time. Prayers that you will find the strength to cope, especially at this Christmas time.

CaptainDippy Prayers for comfort and joy.

Prayers for all of us that we will proclaim the birth of the Saviour to a world in need.

gc. how are you today? how are you coping? try to just do what you need to do to keep the stress down

SweetestThing · 29/01/2012 13:19

Prayers as I read through.

Weegiemum, so pleased they have ruled out cancer!

Amber, I am enjoying (and learning from!) your posts on Facebook. Although both my children do/have done a lot of work with children who are autistic/Aspergers, I don't have much understanding of what it feels like to have or live with someone who has this. I think I am beginning to get a tiny bit of understanding from you - thank you!

Very unmumsnetty hugs to everyone who needs them. The power of prayer is mighty, so I shall keep praying for all you lovely ladies and your families/friends.

PositiveAttitude · 29/01/2012 17:29

I was hoping to come on here and tell you all about my lovely week away. Well, can that wait? Urgent prayers are needed here please...... I feel we are under spiritual attack, which is hardly surprising I suppose!! When we arrived at the airport yesterday there was a mess up with our ticket which cost us a very expensive 500 euro for another plane ticket, which we cannot afford. Today so far a radiator has caused a flood in our lounge ruining our carpet, I managed to get this fixed with the help of a lovely neighbour, then the heating would not turn back on, then we had an over flow pipe pouring water and flooding outside the kitchen. Then the car that started first time this morning has now decided it will not go anywhere! We have no water, no heating and no transport to work tomorrow and a very low bank balance!! We are sat here in at least 4 layers of clothes each, with sleeping bags over us and no water for washing or gettting school clothes clean for tomorrow.

We must be doing something right I suppose, or we would not be being attacked!! Please pray.

By the way, it was an amazing week and we are all fired up and ready and excited for our next big step of faith.

Sorry for the me, me , me post, I have been reading and praying while I have been away.

SweetestThing · 29/01/2012 17:35

Prayers aplenty, positiveattitude - you are certainly being tested!

JugglingWithSnowballs · 29/01/2012 17:50

Anything to be thankful for I wonder PA amongst all those trials ?

  • You are now in the right place ( to respond to God's calling) ?
  • You arrived safely ?
  • You have each other ?
  • Perhaps this experience might be used to help others or yourselves in the future ?

Perhaps you can think of others ... could be an interesting challenge

"Give thanks in all things" (Read Paul in prison in some of the letters ?)

Meanwhile on a more human level, you have my huge sympathy and my prayers

PositiveAttitude · 29/01/2012 20:46

Absolutely loads to be thankful for, thanks JWS.

Not too sure how this has happened, but we have just tried the heating again and it is working and we now have water in most of the house and not pouring out of places it shouldn't be!! Grin

Thank you God.

thejaffacakesareonme · 29/01/2012 21:44

Prayers PA. It does sound as though you are being put to the test.

Weegiemum - prayers that the medics will get to the bottom of what is wrong soon. It's interesting to hear what they are looking at as I've a friend who is going through something similar atm.

MHD - how is your daughter getting on? Praying the bullying has now stopped and her skin is better. And that you feel better soon.

Lurking and praying for everyone else too.

blackeyedsusan · 29/01/2012 21:51

blackeyedsusan · 30/01/2012 07:13

still praying pa.

gc have you got an appointment?

blackeyedsusan · 30/01/2012 11:17

help! I am stewwing over dd's maths. there is a parents evening in 9 days. please pray that I can weather the hormonal storm AND KEEP MY TRAP SHUT til then. (and then be tactful)

gingercurl · 30/01/2012 12:09

Had Doc's appointment this morning. Blood pressure is well above what it should be, but not so high that they need to get it down immediately as a matter of life or death. Even at the peak reading on Friday night, I was below that level [relief]. I have been instructed to monitor it for the next couple of weeks have blood tests and to see him again when the results are back.

As much as I love him, DS really isn't helping at the moment. Why, oh why, will he not listen and do as I ask him when I ask him in a normal tone of voice? It is only after five attempts, when I scream Blush at him from sheer frustration that he reacts and then he complains that I shout at him. It makes him unhappy Sad and me lousy, but I can't get through to him.

madhairday · 30/01/2012 12:17

GC - that's hard and not helpful for your bp. Praying ds will listen and things will be calmer.

PA - wow - yes sounds like attack to me too - praying for you - all sounds so exciting too, would love to hear more about your week :)

I'm not too good here with another chest infection now so back on stronger abs. Just praying it will not be a bad one and I'll be stronger because of the IVs.

DD is OK, thanks, skin is still awful but we now have new creams and waiting for her first appt for UV treatment so hopeful. She has some cards she has taken in to school to give to children who stare etc which explains psoriasis and that it is not contagious etc.

Weegie - so pleased the scan was good but still praying it all goes away entirely for you.

JugglingWithSnowballs · 30/01/2012 18:33

Ooh, I'm stewing a bit over my DDs homework bes

She had two lots of Geography over the weekend (apparently has two teachers who don't know what the other has set) and she was at it all day on Sunday and up till 11 trying to get them both finished.

Just what do you do when it is too much for them/ unreasonable/ too difficult ?
Wish I could remember who I'm supposed to raise it with.
And wish DD would let me write some feedback in her planner.
She's fiercely independent these days (Y8)

Love and prayers to you all.
My DH should be back tomorrow in time to at least see me on my birthday. So thanks for your prayers and company over last two weeks friends, and I'll be praying he gets back safe and soon !

weegiemum · 30/01/2012 20:58

I've just had a reasonably fruitful day in hospital, saw 2 consultants, physio, OT and am starting IVIg (intravenous immunoglobulin) treatment tomorrow for 5 days. It's used for all the things that could be wrong with me so is worth trying as it should do some good. It means being hooked up to a drip for several hours every day tues-sat but I don't mind as it could at least stop if not start to reverse the ghastly numbness I have.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers- very much appreciated!

blackeyedsusan · 30/01/2012 22:42

tears over homework. mine. apparently dd lacks confidence to try in school from what I can make out and I am disappointed that she is not showing maths to her best ability ( we have had a lot of physical problems with her and trouble with the school recognising her reading which is now sorted and maths seemed to be going ok and the one consolation and be trouble free so I am a bit disappointed. )

juggling, that seems far too much homework.

blackeyedsusan · 30/01/2012 22:44

x post (didn't refresh) Blush

hope it brings some improvement weegie.

notevenamousie · 31/01/2012 08:44

I'm struggling. Got a tough week and finding things really hard. Just trying to reach out for a bit of support. The guilt is huge about what's done and I just don't want to drink. Love and prayers to everyone else, sorry I've not been around.
