Hello! Thought today would be a good & apt day to start a new thread

Let's hope it is an Exciting and Blessed year of New Beginnings for us all

Here's the summary from the last thread:

katsh - Prayers for her brother who's marriage has just ended rather traumatically He and his ex are sharing their children 50:50 at the moment and will be starting court proceedings for access etc very soon. They really need your prayers.

MadHairDay - Prayers needed for her friend's DD who is currently in a very bad way with Anorexia. Her organs are shutting down & she is being tube-fed Prayers also needed for other friend's and their DS who has just had a DX of Leukemia ; and for MHD's DF who's husband has just left her This is going to be such a tough year for them, hold them all closely, Lord. Praise though for recent favourable results for MHD's recent lung capacity etc tests

TeaandCakePlease - Her DF who has had a recent DX of breast cancer (which has spread to her lymph nodes) has just had her 1st course of Chemo. She needs prayers for the hard times ahead, as do her family. Prayers also needed for her friend's DS, William who has special needs, he has just come out of hospital where he was having brain seizures every 20 mins. He is home now with special meds.

JaffaCakeAddict - Did your pregnant friend who was snowed-in have her baby safely???? ....and did your sis and family make it home for Christmas!!?

LoveBeingaDaddysGirl - Lost her father at the end of November and suffered a m/c at the beginning of Dec. Such a hard time for LBADG and her family. Hold them close, Lord.

M44 - Prayers for her poor DS whose Eczema is being terribly exacerbated by the weather at the moment

MaryBS - Her BIL has been DX with a secondary brain tumour and will now require special care at home. Prayers for him and for his wife whose health hasn't been too good recently either. These are such hard time for them both. Prayers also needed for Mary's knee which recently collapsed and is causing Mary a lot of pain and discomfort; and for Mary's DD's friend who is currently in an Eating Disorder's Clinic, she is only 11

TotallyUnheardOf - Prayers for her as she seeks to find a church to attend where she lives; and for a more positive attitude to her faith from those around her. Praise for friends who has recently had a BFP after commencing fertility treatment

CaptainCaveman - Her DH has been acquitted of misconduct at work He is now looking for another job, so prayers for success in this would be great

WisteriaWoman - Prayers for family, especially her mum as they settle her father who has Dementia into a care home.

amber - Will need an op in Jan 2011 after the results of scary tests, which she bravely undertook a couple of weeks ago. Prayers for her friend's DS who is in hospital with bad Flu - how is he doing??

Caz&Belle - Has got through her 1st Christmas since losing Belle; but still awaits results of DH's lumbar puncture and finding out what is causing his poor health.

TooBlessed - Hoping that TooBlessed got to Zimbabwe with her family and has had a wonderful time with them

gingercurl - Prayers for her friend and her DF who have been the targets of some appalling behaviour, which has meant the DS has had to move schools. Prayers for 2011 to be a much better year for them.

DutchOma - Has Bob home after a hospital and rest home stay He is doing well and making progress.

JentlyDoesIt - Really needs our prayers at this time as her DH has been taken to start a 6 year prison sentence following a guilty verdict in court just before Christmas. Jently is understandably devastated and is struggling. Uphold her during these dark times, Lord.

BoxofDelights - Posted the following: ". To cut a long and complex story short, a couple of years ago I had a miscarriage and the aftermath of this revealed various problems with (longterm) relationship and it ended. The emotional fallout also led me to confront issues of abuse in my childhood by family members (which I had been trying to cope with, put to one side and hide)which happened for many years." She has cut ties with her family and a lot of her friends as a result of difficult circumstances and is so wanting 2011 to be a year of reconciliation and renewal; and we join her in these prayers

PositiveAttitude - Is finally feeling better for the 1st time since July - Yippee!! Prayers for a continued fantastic recovery

mufti -'s old Pastor died on 28.12.2010. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Prayers especially for his family at this time.

Last, but by no means least - Praise for the safe arrival of Saliswan's DS Thomas on 17.12.2010, weighing 7lb 8oz at 37 weeks - Hurrah!!

The message I got was: "Am ok...some pain... but cheerful...phew..love "

And " a month of recovery to go but so far so good"

dh's Gran is getting worse. They are stopping treatment so she will slip away soon. Please pray for dh and the family. dd especially is very affected by it. Thankyou.

Amber is out of hospital, came out last night. Prayers for a swift recovery...

If anyone is around, I really need some prayers for guidance as I confrongt a difficult issue with a friend. I can't fall out with her over it, but it's not something I can avoid dealing with. I'm going to ring her now, please Lord help me find the right words to say.

Thanks Mary. I've just finished talking to her - I think we've left it so everything is ok but I guess time will tell.

Bless you MHD. I'm really touched by your question. How thoughtful of you. I'm just stressed out over so many things at the moment and wake up with aching head and sore teeth due to grinding my teeth at night. Over the holidays, I realised how utterly exhausted I am and that I can't actually remember what it feels like not to be tired . Have decided to rely less on caffeine and to get more sleep from now on. I hope that will eventually make my head less muddled. Less muddled = more effective/efficient = less stressed :)

I'm sorry to read about your DHs gran . Keeping you all in my prayers.

Oh dear. Been up since 2am, unable to sleep. Now 5.15 so it looks as if that is it for tonight.

Please could I ask for prayer? My life is out of kilter. Work is too busy with important things that cant be shelved. Have signed up to help with my boys cricket and badminton clubs a bit and that is proving too timeconsuming. I'm getting snarly with the boys as a result and have stuff at home I really, really must do! And my parents are getting older and I don't get to see them enough. Now I can't sleep!

Still praying for you all. NQGU I hope you find time for YOU in your busy life. Concentrate on the people that are important to you - I always apologise to the kids if I snap at them because I'm tired and grumpy!

Please pray for S., who trained with me. For the past 6 weeks she has been in a lot of pain and worry over a lump found on her spine. She had a scan at the beginning of the week, and saw the Dr yesterday. The Dr said they couldn't tell from the scan what the problem is, agreed that this should have been sorted sooner, so she is going into hospital today for the next 4 days, to find out what is wrong. She is understandably worried and could do with some prayer, as could her family.

Lifting all of us up in prayer. Praying for light, to see clearly, to bathe in God's sunshine and to find His peace.

gingercurl I could have written that same post about 6 weeks ago - I really sympathise! Like you it really made me realise hom I needed to get more rest so since the holidays I've been making a real, concious effort to spend a bit of time each day doing NOTHING (eg actually sitting down with my cup of tea after the school run, just for 10 minutes) I have to say, it's really helping and my head feels a lot clearer and calmer. I pray that you will find some 'nothing' time in your day too!

Thank you for your prayers last night, I saw my friend again this morning and I think we're ok. She was fairly upset that she'd given me cause to doubt her, and I'm equally upset that I did doubt her, because I think I possibly overreacted to a situation (but I'm saying that with hindsight and my husband assures me that I was right to raise it with her. I just hate confrontation and don't handle it at all well).

Please could you also pray for two families I know: a friend's mother, who had cancer, passed away quite suddenly this week. They knew it was coming but the end came very quickly and our friend didn't manage to get there in time. She's coping ok, apparently, but this is going to be a very difficult time.

Also prayers for another family: I'm not sure of the circumstances, but the husband of one of the mums I used to go to toddler groups with died suddenly at the beginning of the week. I'm not aware of any previous health problems. They had 3 young children, including a new baby. This seems so cruel - it's the second death of a young father in our community in the last few months and it feels horribly, dreadfully cruel. Lord, be with them and hold them close.

Morning everyone. Keeping prayers going.

Having survived the operation on Tues and now recovering ok, checkup with GP has resulted in me needing referrals on to breast clinic to check out a lump that's suddenly appeared and told to go to nurse to start monitoring for high blood pressure. Arrghh. It's like buses - you want for ages then three things turn up at once. Prayers would be appreciated that all of this is easily sorted out...

I've got another chest infection, such bad timing as was going to go up to see dhs gran tomorrow with him but can't go in a hospital with active pseudomonas so can't. Also meant to be going on my new wine leaders conference next week (go every year and love it) so need strength back, so asking for more prayers for that alongside dh's gran, no more news yet.

Hi ladies,

In need of some urget prayer right now, just found out my father in law has been taken into hospital, his heart wont stop racing and the doctors are trying to bring it down with medication, which isn't working. They may have to shock his heart to try to slow it down before he goes into shock. Please pray that the medication starts to work soon.

I dont know where else to turn right now as I am stuck at work and my DH is at home very upset.

Dh busy looking for jobs

I'm in the middle of writing my dissertation, so prayers for concentration on my part much appreciated (ie, I'm here on mn...)

I'm also uplifted by talk of prayer journals. I need to refocus on my relationship with God, and I'm hoping he doesn't mind if I just get my dissertation done first?

Prayers for you Livvy. It's good to knnow that when all else fails we can turn to our God for His care.

I know i'm absolutely rubbish at coming on this thread or on mn at all anymore but please pray for the relationship between my dd and i. We just seem to implode whenever we try and speak to each other. Both dd have dropped out of college this wk neither will let me go to college to try and sort anything out for them they both think their big enough to do this on thier own they both want to go and work full time for different fast food companies!

I just feel that i'm not enjoying them at all. Its stress, stress, stress constantly. they say they do loads for me i see it differently we are just constantly at loggerheads. I'm no good at praising them and find fault with everything - just feel like a failure of a parent and feel that my dc just fit inot stereotypical non achieving dc from single parent families.

Also have got minister involved who is willing to come and be intermedary for us but the girls say why does he need to get involved and yet they like him and talk well to him
