She likes to chew my nail files.

oh this is so funny- Loving all these.

Especially OldLadyKnowsNothing: "Another cat, when she had kittens, went down to the kitchen and laboriously dragged up a lump of tinned cat meat, then called all her babies to see what mummy had killed for them."

We moved quite a distance when I was young with my first cat. So she wasn't in her box all the distance we trained her to go on a puppy lead so she could have a walk at stops on the way. After the move she used to run and get the lead when she wanted to go for a walk.

Spent a year living on a farm with my old cat I have now (when she was alot younger) She had a litter, and after they all went to new homes, she used to go out and hunt for baby rabbits, bring them back alive and unharmed, then try and nurse and mother them.

All the cats I've ever had have loved nailfiles btw.

I'm loving these too.
Male cat loves playing fetch with bottle caps he will fetch and drop into our hands to throw again

oh yes forgot to add same male cat also loves to drink from my glass of water even though he has fresh water in his bowl.

piratecat... dp was less than impressed... he triedlocking the cat out of the bedroom but he'd howl blue murder in the hall and we were in a shared house

funny how many cats are facinated with water... one of mine loves the bath, she prowls around on the edge while the kids are in there and doesn#t mind being splashed at all... she even jumped in once.

another one 'fishes' in the water bowl... he gets himself and the floors completely soaked and drives me to distraction. i have to leave water out, if i don't two of the other literally take over the sink trying to get a drink from the tap.

My Special Needs cat (also a three-legged cat, following an incident of such stunning stupidity I am yet to comprehend it) likes to paddle in his water bowl. We're not quite sure if this is because he has wonky eyes or just because he's weird.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 01/12/2009 14:42

My older cat used to jump in the bath alot too.

My little one hates water though. If she goes out when it's raining she lifts one of her paws and hops along on the other 3 legs to avoid getting that one paw wet. Then she'll realise the rest are getting wet so ends up doing this strange alternating 3 leg dance down the path until she gives up and bolts back in doors.

BloodRed - you should leave water out anyway though.

My cat is getting old now but looks like a kitten in her face so I am in denial about her age.

None of our cats have done anything as wierd sa the cats on this thread - I've just had to read most of it out to dh because he asked why I was hooting with laughter.

We did have a cat that played fetch, though. In our first house, when lying in bed, you could bounce a ball of screwed up silver foil off the bedroom door and down the wooden stairs - and the cat would chase it down the stairs and bring it back for us to throw again. She was brighter than ddog is - ddog hasn't sussed bringing things back so the game can go on.

That cat's brother wanted to be a fierce hunter-killer (his sister was) but didn't quite have the moves, we think - but he did bring home some out of date bacon, a half-eaten pork chop, and a sponge cake. Mind you, you should have heard the stories he told about the fight that sponge cake put up!!!

My cat was doing something she shouldn't the other day, I told her off so she ran up the stairs and put her paw through the banister and scratched me.

My youngest one is a serial attention seeker - if she yowls and you ignore her, she will just launch herself at you and, if you don't catch, she ends up landing on your boobs and hanging on with her claws - ouch !!

Her favourite game is coming up behind DP and letting out an enormous wail to make him jump !

She isn't too sold on rain, but her reaction when I took her out in the snow last year was priceless - kind of the opposite of cat on a hot tin roof

Both mine drink out of any water glass but not their bowl. The older one will play fetch for hours and is a cuddly toy thief - a few years ago, she pinched a draught excluder in the shape of a dachsund from next door and dragged it up the steps to our kitchen door. I recently had to put posters up, asking people to claim the nine cuddly toys / rag dolls that have been brought in through the cat flap - included one Tescos doll still with the price tag on

If I see them in the street, they come running up, yelling their heads off - one leaps into my arms and the other jumps on my rucksack and has a ride down the road !

They pose in front of the living room window and any family with young kids stops to wave at them
