they get walked regularly, fed once a day, shut up at night, one never goes in garden other two are horrid in their toilet habits, thinking of getting rid - they are springers of 1 and 5 and the clean one is a mongrel

Stick a cork up its arse

Or you can train them to hold it in until they go for a walk, make sure you take a poobag though

Same problem here, she used to do it in one place ,now she does it all over the place (mainly because its to cold for her to drag herself to the bottom of the garden (such a lazy bitch).

I think it's the height of irresponsibility to get rid of your dogs because they poo, by the way.

I agree. Dogs poo, children poo. Nobody enjoys it, but it has to be dealt with.

IAteTheWholeSelectionBox · 15/12/2008 18:41

I thought this was going to be all contentios but then I discoverd it was just VinegarTits "having a moment"

To even consider getting rid of your pets because they [gasp] shit! is totally insane. Didn't you think about this before getting dogs? Just walk them at exactly the same times of day, and experiment with what time they are fed. And if that doesn't work then get your backside out there and clean it up.

LOL I thought this thread was going to be a fount of wisdom from hundreds of dog owning MNetters.

You seem to have posting diahorrea. Perhaps your PC could do with a cork too?

but surely they should go at home, rther than out,
can you train them by telling them, with word commands. Do you business - or somesuch. or not letting them in the garden so much.

Lauriefairyonthetreeeatscake · 15/12/2008 18:58

obviously you're joking about getting rid of them because they go to the loo.

I have a springer too, he poops twice a day on walks, first thing in the morning and then late afternoon - feed him just before both walks.

IAteTheWholeSelectionBox · 15/12/2008 19:03

Sparkly, dogs often don't like to crap in their own garden. It would be like you shitting in your front room.

ohreindeerwhatamessysleigh · 15/12/2008 19:11

Mine will only poo in our garden in absolute desperation. Has been known to hold it in for hours and hours if we can't go out first thing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/12/2008 20:08

blimley vinegar - was that you or mn had a mad moment?

was amazed had over 200 replies

unfort no real solution yet

MadameCastafiore · 18/12/2008 16:31

We are trying to train our puppy to only poo in one flowerbed at the moment - although she prefers to do it at the bottom of the DCs slide which will become a problem in the summer - we have mulched one flowerbed and when she wants to go out we stick on her lead and go to said flowerbed - it hasn't worked yet - she waits until we take her for a walk or she does it at bottom of slide but I will persevere as one of my friends has a chocolate lab which only goes in a flowerbed and this is how they trained her.
