I have my parents little yorkie here while they go on holiday, they dropped him off yesterday and today he said been struggling to breathe and making a horrible noise, so I phone my parents and ask what they want to me to do, they said to let him calm down and he would be fine. Well anyway he got worse and was sick everywhere, so I phone the emergancy vet and explained the sitution and that my parents are away and that they are on benifits, and she said that they would see him straight away at no charge, so Misdee and I rushed him over the college vets, and then on the way his tonuge went blue, so I carried him in and as soon as we walked in they took him away and said someone would be with us soon. The vet came down and explained that his windpipe has prolly collaped and that they had given him a jab to calm his breathing and he was in an o2 mask. When I got home DH said the vet had phoned again and that he is much worse. I phoned her and she said that he is struggling and suffering and we need to decide if we risk the jounery to another vet where they can do more investigations or operation (but he most likely won't make the jounery) or to let him go.
I had to then phone my parents and tell them all this, they are coming down now, the vet is going to try and keep him alive till my parents get home. Misdee and me feel so crap....

Sparkly, it's normal to feel slightly crap at this sort of stage.

Nicotine withdrawal isn't fun.

You are however, slightly richer, slightly healthier and slightly more delicious to snog (speak to your sister's strippers for confirmation)

Irritability is a classic feeling. Carr's book may have some suggestions for you.... and you did say you were going to buy it, but you haven't, so maybe you should.

Again, I think it's phenomenal that you launched into this utterly determined, and that you've stuck to it despite dh and SIL puffing away etc. Do carry on as in a day or two I think you will start to notice smells, tastes etc. that have been masked my the fags, and you might start to feel a little more energy and a little less snappy etc.

Be strong for me, your kids, the MN posse and most of all, FOR YOU.... Oh, and Giavani - the Italian one with the red posing pouch and those unbelievable arms....

I still have a cold so can't smell nothing still, I am still hoping that it stays for a few more days and then I can't smell the smoke and want one....
Was able to get through yesterday but Dh had his head bited off a few times..... doesn't help that he is moody git anyway!!!

Buy some scented flowers for the house: Not sure what's in the shops right now - fresias maybe ? You'll be able to tell how you're doping because although you'll be smelling other people's smoke, and the stuff in your furniture / clothes (yuck) - you'll also start to smell some of the more subtle, nicer smells out there.

Maybe visit the garden centre and pick out some scented flowers for the window sill / balcony / patio / garden ?

Keep going.

Sami is still in the pet hospital in North London, he needed o2 again yesterday and they are discussing surgery.
My parents are very grateful that I went against what they said to do, and took him to the vets anyway.
