Leave them in one room, let them get used to it.
Mine were older from RSPCA and spent 3 weeks hiding on top of the kitchen units.

4 beady eyes staring at you while cooking.

donbean · 12/02/2008 13:09

thread dead, silence and from kind folk who like animals.

dinny · 12/02/2008 13:10

I really wanted a boy and a girl but ended up with two girls... have always had boy cats before but am loving my girls (called Tilly and Mouse/Mouseling)

they are a bit gangle and attitude-y atm, teenagers.

Peachy · 12/02/2008 13:10

OOh see I'd be careful with the dried stuff- it's what we were told caused last cat to die (caused a kidney stone that blocked urethra and in turn caused heart failure due to a weak heart from his previous injuries).

never had a problem with iams or Scince Plan, but we changed him over to a generic brand and vet thinks was a contributory factor.

robinia · 12/02/2008 13:11

Poor little mites - wouldn't you be scared if you'd been plonked in a new place with strangers and no mummy at that age. Give them time, space and quiet (if that is possible). At least they have each other

TheHonEnid · 12/02/2008 13:11

Fabio and Enid

they are more fun when a bit older

Awww, I love kittens.

Best to stick them in a quietish room with food, water and a litter tray and let them come out in their own time.

New Cat

bodiddly · 12/02/2008 13:38

mine did exactly that ... they say to leave them in one room with their litter tray, food and water for a week and just let them come out and explore. Needless to say I didn't heed this advice and mine hid for days ... but if you wait until the kids are in bed and go into the room and give them a quick cuddle every now and then they will soon get used to you. 3 boys all at once are a bit much for anyone to deal with though!

Peachy · 12/02/2008 19:02

Pah to your newtoen wusy cat- our cats came from Bridgwater council estates.

(one of them has turned into a complete soppy nightmare though, despite being found sealed in a box and being named Frankenstein at the time....)
