Mine are both in at night. The old gimmer would freeze to death and the kitten would run off if he was left outside for more than half an hour without supervision. .

The old gimmer goes out for a wee before we go to bed and out for as long as it takes him to find his loo spot in the garden and do his business. The he comes in, has suppoer and comes up to bed with us.

I am buying one of these for Turner in the New year as he sleep in a very cold hallway next to the back door.

Tilly is now staying in the kitchen with Snoop [dog] each evening. Its -7 here today, way too cold for the pussers!

ours is in or out as he chooses - usually several times a night.

last night I believe that he was on my feet for the whole night.

he has a good layer of blubber on him to keep him warm

Ours is in, she spends half the night tucked up with DS3 and then sleeps on DH's head for the other half.

He is tagged too, like some ASBO cat. He is a farking nightmare.

We need a cat flap really for the gimmer but the only door it could go in is the back door which leads into the utility where the hamster lives.

Iota · 17/12/2007 10:37

NdP - a cat-flap with a tasty supper laid on

MegaLegs · 17/12/2007 10:37

Is yours eating loads? Mine is constantly after food at moment, round my legs each time I go in kitchen. She is getting a flabby tum.

NomDePlume · 17/12/2007 10:39

FIFTY QUID for a cat bed ?!

I bought a cat bed for Gimmer and he just completely ignored it and slept on our bed instead

Iota · 17/12/2007 10:39

Mine is a stomach with a cat attached

MegaLegs · 17/12/2007 10:39

Mum got her cat a magnetic collar for catflap. Had to take them off her though as she kept jumping up on side and getting mum's carkeys stuck to her neck and then running off with them.

PirateInaPeartree · 17/12/2007 10:39

lol.

our cat is a bit dim, has me up in the night yowling to comein, she changes her mind about things all the time, and forgets what she was doing.

Last night she cameunder the duvet with me, unheard of, must have been desp for warmth.

Got me up half an hour later, i thougt u need a wee dont you. Had to throw her out, then was just about to shut the door on her but felt sorry , and waited for her. She was trying her best to have a wee as fast as pos, but she does 3 minute long ones. She was staring at me across the garden, and I was like, 'its ok mummy will wait (as i am frezzing me ass off).

Pelted back in almost joyous, that I hadnt shut door on her.

I am pleased cos she normally pees inthe fruit bowl.

Ours is nearly 16 years old.
She spends half the night ripping the throats out of mahoosive rats in the field next door.

The rest of the night is spent purring gently in DS1's arms, after demanding to be lifted onto the bed because her legs are a bit creaky.

Yuk and LOL at fruit bowl. Ours went through a stage of peeing in the bath.

MellowChristmasEveryone · 17/12/2007 10:42

scroll down for cheaper cat warming plates....

Although his big scratcher costs £60 but he does not go out so he needs some fun in his sad little life!

My Big cat pees on the paper beside the dog

BellaBear · 17/12/2007 10:43

Our cat is well hard, he's in and out all night. Though we suspects he visits other houses who actually put their central heating on in december.

Our cat is fatter in the winter than in the summer, is this true for anyone else's?

PirateInaPeartree · 17/12/2007 10:45

luckily, in our house there is never any fruit in it, no wonder she gets confused.

'ooh look a nice empty, clean receptacle for me to pee in'

CremolaFirCone · 17/12/2007 10:47

thought i would share this with the cat lovers:
its made me roar with laughter

how cats really wake you up

LazyLinePainterJane · 17/12/2007 10:50

Ours have the cat flap unlocked but they sleep inside. One of them comes upstairs for a cuddle every night when we get into bed then goes off to kill things before sleeping in whatever is the most annoying position on the bed.

There is no way they would sleep in a cat bed. Not when there are magazines to sleep on.

Iota · 17/12/2007 10:52

cat beds are there to be slept in half a dozen times and then ignored thereafter.

my extensive survey of 5 cats proves this to be true
