My cat is at the vet's - I'm really concerned that they are going to have to put her to sleep.

I came home from work and found her in real distress and unable to get off the floor.

Doing x-rays and blood tests on her while I wait at home.
Have to phone them in a minute.

Just read you post from this morning Sparkler - was hoping it would be better news - nice that you got to say goodbye though....

Oh sparkler, i know how you feel. We had to get our second dog put down today. She has had a bad leg for three weeks, and then this morning she had a sort of fit, all jerking and vomiting and we had to take her to the vets.
No one ever tells you how hard it is when you lose a much loved pet. I have been in tears most of the day, and then when i read your thread I started crying again.

nicm - I'm crying my eyes out reading rainbow bridge. Thankyou it's beautiful.
Saltire - sorry to hear about your dog today.

Awww, my dh hasn't got in yet (will be late). I'm in the kitchen at the moment and the rain keeps rattling the catflap so I keep thinking it is the cat coming in and then remembering it can't be.....

Am having myself a mini wake - in other words getting slightly sloshed. Am feeling high as a kite right now. But by the time I get to the bottom of the wine bottle shall probably start blubbing again.

Poor you, it's so sad to lose a companion animal. I am feeling all teary remembering my old cat who had his last trip to the vet in summer 2005. It was a similar story, I found him lying under the kitchen table looking very sad, and the vet said he was simply going into multiple organ failure because of his age. I held him while she did the injection and told him how much I loved him and what a great friend he'd been to me. The only comfort was that I did know that I had given him a lovely last few years - he was a rescue cat - and I bet you gave your cat a wonderful life too.

Sparkler1 · 02/03/2007 21:39

Haven't got to the bottom yet and I'm blubbing away nicely already.

DH and I are having lots of bitty conversations about bits that we remember from the past.
We had "Fleck" as long as we have lived together. So it's even more sentimental.

Thinking about you and your family this morning sparklerxxxxxx

Sparkler1 · 03/03/2007 08:47

Thanks Novacane. It was very strange this morning getting up and coming downstairs - not to hear her miaowing for her dinner.
Am going to try and sort out a few things of hers today and pass them onto MIL who has a cat.
