To find UK emergency vehicle sirens too loud?

They aren’t this loud in France or Netherlands for example.
i believe they’ve got louder with new sirens fitted at some point over the years designed to be felt as well as heard within modern insulated cars.
I have found this petition on line & will sign.

Yes definitely. There was a lady killed on the road near me a few years ago.
Excessive noise from an ambulance caused her horse to spook & they were both killed

The ambulance was responding to a lower priority call so minutes or seconds would have made no difference. Also there was a queue to handover in a&e of an hour.

Yes they are too loud & also they should be restricted to the highest priority call.

Yes it's ridiculous. There's absolutely no need for them to be so loud.

If anything they are not loud enough, they are pretty muffled in modern cars. They need to be loud enough for all to hear, even us with reduced hearing

Ambulances on continent seem to operate in fine without ear splitting sirens

live on main road normal for sirens to scream past several times a day morning noon and night it just becomes background noise after a while and not often noticed by myself when at home pottering about
