My husband lost his life. Could I ask for your help?

My husband loved football, I am a Manc and love Man City but he was an avid LCFC suporter. He went all over the place to watch them and started many of chants when he was watching the games. He would often come home with destroyed vocal chords. City was everything to him but he also had a soft spot for my team too 💙

However, I recently lost my husband through a gambling addiction. He was a happy man but was sucked into a hole after being given 'free bets' which ultimately cost him his life. I have made a video that explains more here.

I have set up a petition asking the government to ban 'free bets'. This is where I am asking for your support. Could you sign and possibly share it.

I watched your Facebook video Annie, I am so sorry for your loss. I’m sure he was a wonderful man. You are doing a very brave thing when you’re grieving.

Free bets - I can see how someone might get pulled in. Betting adverts around football stadiums etc really normalises it doesn’t it. I’m guessing we should all be talking to our children about this too.

Also Interesting what @nicegerbil said regards the exploitative nature of the late night adverts, the celebrity endorsements - so toxic.

I’m so sorry for your loss 😔 A friend of a friend lost her brother to online gambling. They have started a charity to support families who have suffered similar losses. Perhaps you could get in touch with them, they are trying to change the law too.

Yes. And I was foolish enough to go down a rabbit hole of gambling because of this.

Would like to see any recommendations for matched betting deleted to be honest.
