And to highlight this petition to stop it?

Alex, of course nurses don't need pay rises, should be thankful for a job (those that catching COVID at work due to expired PPE doesn't kill or incapacitate). Did she vote for the increase in MPs pay, I wonder?

BumBurnerBum · 23/10/2020 18:05

I'm a Tory but I'm disgusted and have signed.

VinylDetective · 23/10/2020 18:07

@LilyMumsnet

Hi OP,

We're just moving this over to our petitions topic. Flowers

I wish you hadn’t done this. This petition needs all the traffic it can get.
canigooutyet · 23/10/2020 18:13

Did the MP's even bother to change their practices after the Panama Papers?

Mps on the whole are self serving "public" servants who aren't qualified for the positions they hold. Who give public sector workers pay freezes yet award themselves rises. Who claim back what they can, and use every single loophole they can including offshore.

AlexCabot · 23/10/2020 18:14

Zilla Of course she fucking did. She is at least predictable.

Another bump for Saturday evening

LadyWithLapdog · 24/10/2020 20:36

Signed and shared.

I don’t want them to become dependent on the taxpayers. I’m actually looking after their own welfare.

Smarties87 · 24/10/2020 20:44

Signed!

Mumtumwobble · 24/10/2020 20:47

Signed. It’s an absolute disgrace.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/10/2020 20:55

I've signed but has one been set up on the official petitions site so it has to be discussed in parliament?

DianaT1969 · 24/10/2020 21:03

Signed yesterday.

We need a petition to Cancel the House of Lords too. I'm sick of all the freeloaders we're supporting. People volunteer in all walks of life. If the Lord's aren't willing to do it for free, absolutely free, then we don't want them.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/10/2020 21:18

@DianaT1969 I think you need to have a look at all the policies that have been amended or stopped by the lords before you make that sweeping statement. I'm not saying its a perfect system but having the checks and balances from people who aren't a) looking for votes and b) in a position where they could be long gone when the full effects of a policy is felt puts the country in a much better position than only having parliament would.

dooratheexplorer · 24/10/2020 21:54

Lots of perks. Much better than my NHS job where I have to pay for parking and contribute to the tea fund.

Where do I apply?

Thelnebriati · 01/11/2020 15:06

I've signed but I wish it was on the dotgov petition website.
