Thread on this here:

twitter.com/SafeSchools_UK/status/1161957169731911681?s=20

Sadly this doesn't surprise me. My daughter won't sit upstairs on the bus because all the boys are watching porn on their phones making it a hostile and unsafe environment for her and her friends. SSAUK are calling on the Department of Education to do something about this. Lots of MPs have been tagged in this thread so please share it if you are on Twitter. Its on Facebook too - www.facebook.com/safeschoolsallianceuk

If you don't think I am BU please share and send to your MPs flagging the urgency of the situation.

I can imagine sending nude pics to a boyfriend when I was a kid. As a young adult I allowed one to take Polaroids of me. He tried to blackmail me into staying with him. Said he'd show my mum. I told her and she said that if he brought the pics she'd refuse to look, tear them up if he let her hold them. I'm very lucky in my DPs.

But kids do incredibly stupid things. They don't think ahead. And girls are being groomed by boys obsessed with porn to engage in painful, dangerous and demeaning acts. Doctors have been horrified by serious anal/rectal injuries in young women and girls.

It is truly horrific what future is in store for our girls.

Especially when men know that they are unlikely to ever be held to account for their actions.

Spot on Deathgrip.

SGB have you looked at www.safeschoolsallianceuk.org?? If don't think you can have or else you would not call the organisation "anti-trans". The focus is entirely on safeguarding.

GColdtimer - I have read the 'about' page on their website. It's the usual 'concern-troll' anti-trans nonsense. About as credible as this tosser.

Understanding safeguarding and The Equality Act means recognising that biological sex exists. It seems you have a problem with that, and that makes you the wing nut, imo.

BoneyBackJefferson · 20/08/2019 11:41

It has been mentioned many times on threads like this, but whatever you do to block content on the internet there are ways around it.

The only way to stop children accessing the internet, watching porn etc. is to remove the devices on which they are watching the porn on.

Yet the outcry at the very suggestion that Smart phones should not be given to children is immense.

And for those that will respond about needing phones for emergencies, you can buy mobile phones with no internet access.

GColdtimer · 20/08/2019 20:32

Nothing like that organisation you linked to SGB and you know it.

Recognition of biological sex and the protections that girls are afforded under the equality act on the basis of their sex is one of the foundations of safeguarding. That is being overlooked as schools listen to single issue lobby groups with no experience of safeguarding. Nothing transphobic about that. And nothing "wing nut" about parents, teachers, governors, doctors, MH professionals (many left wing or liberal leaning) coming together out of concern for kids. Read the "our stories" section and open your mind.
