Yes - and something which is needed by some for medical conditions/disability. Not going to sign this one. Let's get rid of packaging that has two or even three layers of unnecessary plastic first.

It can be done. I was very impressed when buying a 'One for All' remote control recently that the packaging was entirely recycled paper and cardboard.

Also I remember watching a documentary on plastic pollution and they grilled someone at the top at Tesco about the plastic packaging on their fruit and veg. She said she could "stop it all tomorrow if she felt like it but I don't want to" then laughed at the camera. Do you think she's going to care about this petition? I don't think she's going to give a shit but I do sort of agree with it as I do hate plastic straws.

I drink through a straw and when they started phasing plastic straws out I went and bought as many as I could possibly around 5000 to stockpile them.

Paper or card ones make my teeth itch they are absolutely horrendous so I can't use them. I tried metal ones and silicone ones and they had the same effect in my mouth - absolutely awful to drink from.

I've yet to see the plastic composite ones to try them out so meanwhile I'm sticking with my plastic straws.

@sammyg12 this is a 5 year old zombie thread, how did you even find it? The petition is now redundant as the law has changed. Better off starting a new petition and thread.

Ah a zombie thread. I see the petition worked so I stand corrected. I stand by my point that they don't care though as they still produce so much plastic. The straw ban was just to make them look good.
