woowoo try thinking of the UK as a big house. We don't have to invite people into our homes just because they want to come in, even if they do just want a quick look round.
Only EU citizens have an automatic right to enter the UK, and he isn't one of them.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/11/2014 16:30

I agree Fatlazy, we don't have to let dangerous people into our home.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 15/11/2014 20:46

Have you all seen that he tweeted the Duluth power and control wheel, a tool used to support DV survivors to identify aspects of domestic abuse they have experienced, and called it a "checklist"

There is no doubt that he is inciting violence against women, and that is a crime.

Signed - because (woowoo) what he advocates is sexual assault.

portico · 15/11/2014 21:48

I have asked moderators to remove the line I wrote referencing Russell brand

Zazzles007 · 15/11/2014 21:51

Just did a google on the reverse petition put forward by these sexists/misogynists - it has a grand, grand total of.... 2,693 petitioners Smile Grin

It is really, really, really weird though that they are still not getting the message of "Hey, perhaps what I am doing is wrong and so, so, so socially repugnant on so many levels, that the vast majority of the world, both women and men are outraged by this, and getting us banned. Maybe I need to rethink this...." Are they really so hard of thinking that they cannot come to this conclusion all on their lonesome??? Confused

On another note, the googling expedition revealed that the Julien Blanc's assistant, mentioned in the news reports of his ousting in Australia, well his name is Glenn Goossens. I'll leave it up to you Lovely Vipers to find out more information about this weasel. Do what you will... Wink

rootypig · 15/11/2014 21:53

why portico? is it not true?

rootypig · 15/11/2014 21:54

God, if only people were so easily convinced Zazzles. The older and more cranky I get, the more I think people hardly ever change their minds.

RubyGoat · 15/11/2014 21:56

DH & I have signed the Change.org one. What a vile man, and how sad that it is booked to capacity.

Zazzles007 · 15/11/2014 22:01

the more I think people hardly ever change their minds

So, so true Rootypig. People can be very, very wedded to their ideas and beliefs, no matter how outlandish, or morally and ethically repugnant they might be. Case in point - JB and his fellow PUA's.

AuntieStella · 15/11/2014 22:10

Would his activities fall under the offences of 'encouraging or assisting' if carried out in England?

And if so, would that be immediately arrestable?

rootypig · 15/11/2014 22:11

The change.org petition says it needs 150k signatures. Does anyone know what happens then,if anything? or is it just a benchmark?

bloodyteenagers · 15/11/2014 22:13

Oh wow. Just read some vile things on his website, not the realsocialone but another one. Even the name isn't that great. Although if you are in London and intend to go clubbing, arm yourself with the knowledge that this workshop does not just happen in a room somewhere. He takes men out into bars and clubs to practice what he preaches.. Fucking shocking. This nasty little cretin also have over eight thousand wanna be rapists following him. Shocking.

Zazzles007 · 15/11/2014 22:14

The change.org petition says it needs 150k signatures...

I've been following the petition for a while, and it has a target number to reach, but once it reaches that target, it just up-levels to the next target number. This could go on for ages, preventing JB from ever spouting his misogynistic bullshit ever again Grin

AuntieStella · 15/11/2014 22:17

The Governmental e-petitions trigger Commons debate if the number of signatures reaches the threshold.

Whether that leads to action is another question though.

rootypig · 15/11/2014 22:19

Oh how irritating!

Is there a govt e-petition?

rootypig · 15/11/2014 22:20

Here it is
epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/71737

Only 110 signatures. What on earth is the point of change.org then Confused

Italiangreyhound · 15/11/2014 22:35

mumsnet why don't you allow petitions on other boards?

Italiangreyhound · 15/11/2014 22:35

Signed. And hope he never gets in.

frazzledbutcalm · 15/11/2014 22:54

I've just signed ... his behaviour/advice is just horrible!

CantBeBotheredThinking · 15/11/2014 23:00

I've signed both the change and the epetitions.gov

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 15/11/2014 23:17

@Italiangreyhound

mumsnet why don't you allow petitions on other boards?

Because people get annoyed with petitions clogging up the other conversations - now obviously some are very worthy and important - we too think this one is, hence us making it a discussion of the day.

However there are plenty of petitions online that are very specialist or localised "stop Mr Jones at number 23 parking in front of my driveway"
(NB this is an exaggerated example for comic effect)

While these are no less important to the people who have started them we prefer MNers to post petitions in one section to keep things easy to navigate.

Wotcha, Olivia, we've a new troll on the "sea man" thread in FWR.
