Blimey - does he/she have educational difficulties? I would assume so - can't believe that is just text speak.

Iklboo · 23/04/2008 14:26

DH is dyslexic and he wouldn't write a note like that - especially not u r, 4 it etc.
That's text speak isn't it?

Different types of dyslexics use different ways around it. Text speak is around everywhere and fits with a lot of dyslexics' ways of thinking about the sounds of words, so unsurprisingly a lot of young dyslexics use more text speak in their normal writing.

Are dyslexics also incapable of using capital letters and full stops?

youknownothingofthecrunch · 23/04/2008 15:06

They can find it hard yes - depending on severity and type of dyslexia. They can even find it difficult to write along one line of a page and may continue sentences in random places. It's all very individual.

philmassive · 24/04/2008 09:50

Just send a reply thus:

ys u cn av it
if u stp bshng ur grlfrnd
or i wl cll th plc
u ilitr8 twrp

that should do the trick.

Oh goods heavens to Mergatroid, what are you like, you paragons of virtue teetering on your moral high horses!!

Dyslexics can use dictionaries can't they??! The ones I know are children and are very proficient at doing so! Anyway, far more likely that he is just a thick lout who could actually make an effort to improve his literacy if he chose, but does not.
