I take it next door is not an 82 year old ex-colonel English teacher?

CountessDracula · 23/04/2008 14:08

You could respond

"You may certainly have . I do not require payment, however I would request that you re-write your request in legible English"

Thanks mate that's just the job for my allotment

Think you're being cruel on this one actually. Patently clear that whoever wrote it knows no better.

My2Weegirls · 23/04/2008 14:12

do they talk like that in rl?

Twiglett · 23/04/2008 14:12

pedantry is funny and witty when it isn't cruel

oh I actually think I can be cruel seeing as I have had to listen to him beat up his girlfriend on more than one occassion

OP posts:
Twiglett · 23/04/2008 14:15

fair enough to be cruel about abusive behaviour. Although calling the police would probably be more useful.

But there is clearly either an intellectual or an educational defecit in that note.

It's not the same as taking the piss of an organisation not knowing the difference between less and fewer, because they should.

jumpingbeans · 23/04/2008 14:15

Nasty,Nasty, Have you thought, perhaps they have trouble spelling, no, not nearly so funny

oiFoiF · 23/04/2008 14:16

I did call the police and I have given him said item.

OP posts:
oiFoiF · 23/04/2008 14:23

I dont actually think he has trouble spelling, I think its just how the young of today write notes

I do however take on board it could be construde as nasty so I apologise to all those I have offended

youknownothingofthecrunch · 23/04/2008 14:24

I work with dyslexics a lot and that note smacks of dyslexia to me - the use of e in "ples" is a common characteristic as is the use of u and r and "bin in" instead of "binning".

Fair enough be mean to the nasty sod in general terms, but picking on something he can't help is mean!
