This may have been done before but I find this really annoying. Someone advertised a chest of Chester drawers the other day 😂. Anyone else.

Someone recently asked for local recommendations to fix a puncher in their tyre

DreamingOfAGreenChristmas · 18/12/2022 23:39

Wall Drobes are popular here.

And I saw Holy Reefs on sale as nice Christmas decorations for your front door.

This has just made me hoot with laughter.

For anyone enjoying this thread, Bill Bryson's "Dictionary of Troublesome Words" is a good read. Apart from the usual "draws" and "drawers" stuff on our local for sale site, my most recent eye-roll was at being "thanked for my patients" by a legal firm. 😂

I feel for the woman who was ‘lack toast intolerant’

JFDIYOLO · 19/12/2022 00:24

Duct tape. 😡

It's DUCK, after the canvas type fabric the glue is on.

Nothing to do with ducts.

Geppili · 19/12/2022 01:13

Theydoyaknow · 19/12/2022 01:29

"needs gone" is standard English in various regional variations.

Does anyone have a link to these hilarious mistakes they've seen?

Thought not.

Not necessarily. Duck tape is a type of duct tape (designed to seal ventilation ducts).

Needs gone today

That’s perfectly fine usage in Scotland, and not grammatically incorrect.

Yes, please show us the links.

I'm not sure it's funny to mock people who may have dyslexia or a learning need.

An article popped up on my phone , the title of which said, 'The peacefullest dogs on earth. The calmest most peaceful breads you can own'. 🤐

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 19/12/2022 10:24

@FuckabethFuckor fair enough. It still feels like my eyes are being scratched out when I read it though. Sorry
