The new word for big is massive, apparently. Is it just me or has its over-usage began to rankle anyone else?

You can't exaggerate any more, you have to over exaggerate. Or massively over exaggerate.

And I find the hashtag stuff annoying - #justsayin'.

I blame modern people.

In parts of Dublin 'massive' means really good. ('Deadly' is also used for this..."I love your car, it's bleedin' deadly so it is"). I remember bringing newborn dd1 into my workplace and one of my colleagues cooing over her "awww isn't she massive!" (She was 6lb 5oz) ShockGrin

To cheer you all up, here's a good one - my friend was talking about the Hay Literal Festival last week.

Oh yes, 'be like' for say/ do. My three and six year old have started using this - 'and I was like "Help Me! I'm falling!" and then I was like "oh, I'm okay now!"'

Yesterday the small one was asking me to 'come here mummy and see what I was like', meaning 'see what I did'.

I haven't had 'and she turned round and said...' from them yet.
