Am I allowed a little gentle rant in here? I don't know why this one gets on my nerves so much, but it does. The verb is 'to quote'. The noun is 'quotation'. I will accept 'quote' in the context of 'getting a quote from the builder' as it's become such common parlance but it sets my teeth on edge when people about 'a literary quote'.

Grrr!
