i spent more on the friggin party bags than this woman spent on the single poundshop tat for a pressie she gave.
and i gave a party bag to her younger child.
and the worst of it is, it's not in my character to actually be annoyed about this. i am trying to work up some annoyance, but its only really theoretical. i was brought up to give generously, and presents are always meant to be what you yourself would like to receive. so when dd goes to her party in two weeks time, i wil lbe spending my usual 5 to 10 quid on the pressie.
and dh bought her dh coffee as well.

Absolutely, Lulu...

Should be done over by the Trades Description people. They've fooled me many a time

notnow, again, you give me more credit than i am due.
i dont really think things through that much. in rl i would never voice such thoughts. on mn i chat about all sorts of stuff i wouldnt in rl. i have a hard hat, and can take the knocks.
threads evolve over time. and tbh, this has kept me more entertained than i would have been otherwise.

Great for household cleaning products though!

My best friend was broke so gave ds2 and ds3 something her children had outgrown for their birthday present. That was 2 years ago and they still play with them most days - their most successful presents probably.

Sounds sensible rather than antisocial to me.

yurt1 · 10/02/2008 22:30

do cheaper party bags is my advice.

notnowbernard · 10/02/2008 22:31

Gald you're not feeling battered and bruised, Pukka.

Am going to drag my weary butt to bed. Alas the weekend is over!

pukkapatch · 10/02/2008 22:33

tbh yurt, i will no doubt repeat what i did again, and again. the party is for dd. as long as she is happy, then the party was a success.

notnow, thats what i should have done hours ago. cant believe i have spent the entire eveing sat her in front of theis puter.

i'm an mn veteran of four years. i can take it with the best of them. only once in my entire time here have i actually been really upset by something. even then, it didnt last long.
okie, yell at me if you see me on the active convos list again.

dare I say that my mum got DS a similar toy to what you describe from a toyshop - think it was £2 or £3 - so though not expensive, not exactly a poundland purchase
