Envy since the one that was cancelled, my DC haven't had a "standard" half term for me to try and rebook.

Sorry, I have a couple more questions I would appreciate any opinions...
There are 4 younger children (between 13-18mths) coming to my daughter's party. Do you think I should take few age appropriate toys for them to play with? Not sure what we have left (mostly given away now but sure i can find couple bits). There is a party lady coming to do main entertainment.

Also I was thinking I would assume they would join in (with parents) the pass the parcel game. Would it be better to do their own mini pass the parcel?
There will be 18 four year olds and one 2.5yr old so was thinking maybe having 2 circles and 2 parcels for them or it could go on all day????

I think this could be the most over thought party ever!!!

Thanks again for all your help
SSmile

P.s probably should have said it is us (my husband and I) who are running the PTP game after the food, at the end of the party.
The party lady does non 'winner' type games (so hopefully no tears/feeling left out), dancing, bubbles, parachute games etc.
thanks

Ooh, it's all gone quiet!

slp int he main I try to cater parties to the birthday child and older/younger ones just have to make of it what they can - otherwise you end up tying yourself in knots trying to please everyone and it never ends - I'd say, take the toys if you can find them but don't worry if you don't. 13-18 month olds will love the music and the hustle and bustle, they'll be fine.

IME parents are always happy to sit down with the teeny ones to help with pass the parcel too.

I'd stick to one circle and one present for pass the parcel. Timing two parcels going round 2 different circles and still trying to get it to land on everyone without fights is a task I'm not sure I could manage!

I'm currently attempting to make a dairy free cake using only my combi oven - wish me luck!

One circle with 2 parcels is my chosen methodology for PtP. Definitely leave the smalls up to their parents - if parents sit down with them it will also help keep it going for the 4yos.

stealthsquiggle · 06/04/2013 19:58

Small person toys - if they come to hand, otherwise just crayons and lots of paper.

stealthsquiggle · 06/04/2013 19:59

Blathers - good luck with that. Anyway news on oven replacement?

Blatherskite · 09/04/2013 08:22

Oh lordy, I need to make these !

Exceptionally cool, but I don't like piñatas [spoilsport]

Blatherskite · 09/04/2013 09:06

Pinatas never work ime. They either flatly refuse to break, break open on the first hit or someone misses the pinanta and smacks someone over the head with the stick.

The only time I might attempt one is if I do end up doing a Star Wars party as I think a Death Star pinata might be cool.

Those cookies would be a massive hit though I think.

When making American recipes, how do you work round the cups thing?

Do you convert into weights? Have US cups? Use UK cups?

I spent ages searching for some proper US cups a while ago but when they arrived, I realised they were UK measures and I'm never sure whether they'd work so they've never been used.

There is a good conversion guide in the front of this book which I have, but it's at home and I'm not.

I saw that on a blog at the time and thats why i decided to do the house hollow but she'd said that cardboard was crap as a former for the tower and that it wobbled in the cake Hmm

Dd was given a set of dolls aswell and i planned on putting one in the house but when they came the scale was all wrong. Nevermind i never have to make one again Grin

Shit what if dd2 wants one too?!!

stealthsquiggle · 11/04/2013 20:48

Don't worry - Tangled will be out of fashion and DD2 will come up with something different and equally impossible to demand Wink

Blatherskite · 11/04/2013 21:26

I've finished my face painting course!

I have a certificate and everything Grin
