Sounds like a joke but my lovely son 31 years is getting a bit jaded with dating apps but he does use them.
He is kind, caring etc and well educated.
I was somewhere the other day and got talking to a lovely girl and I wished I could somehow connect them!!!
Is there anything out there?

I thought this thread was going to be about adults with learning difficulties and an app for that might be nice. But for a mother of a non disabled 30 yr old son it would be weird weird weird. No one would want to go on a date arranged by a mum even as a teenager let alone at age 30.

This is how arranged marriages work. It has its perks.

Calmhappyandhealthy · 29/12/2024 16:27

Does your son have learning difficulties or special educational needs?

Weird comment.

just because people are using dating sites doesn't mean they'll meet every single person so they may not connect that way.

@Fionuala

what stopped you saying, I think you & my son would really get on, can I give you his number? Or him yours??

nut it would be weird as fuck to have some site where parents get themselves involved in setting their child up like that

I didn’t mean that they could only meet people through an app. I meant if they can’t even be bothered to use a dating app or look for a partner another way that people would not be looking for partner who is leaving things like this to their Mum to do for them.

I hope not.
A grown man whose mummy gets him a girlfriend?
Huge huge red flag.

I worked on reception in a hotel once and a lovely man gave me his sons email. He lived in Australia! Fell at the first hurdle though as didn't like animals.

Reminds me of the Date my Friend site that Lowri whatsherface set up.

You should have organised a post-Christmas turkey curry buffet

Ilovemyshed · 29/12/2024 17:59

I reckon he is gay and doesn't know how to tell the overbearing mammy.

Step away OP.

usernother · 29/12/2024 18:04

Yes. It's called Cringe.com.

drspouse · 29/12/2024 18:08

I suppose the only blessing is that he's your son not your daughter and you aren't able to go on about biological clocks.

wizzywig · 29/12/2024 18:09

Yeah, it's called an arranged marriage!

I'm watching Downton Abbey whilst reading this.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 29/12/2024 23:57

You should have just shown the girl a photo of your son and asked if she'd take his number

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 29/12/2024 23:58

A lot of my uni friends met their spouses pre dating apps on my single friend.com
You need to start mysingleson.com

EmeraldRoulette · 30/12/2024 00:05

wow

um, I have heard of this in other countries- more like agencies though. Glad it's not a thing in England.

but my first thought is does he actually want a partner

I think a lot of people can't face saying "actually I'm happy being single" - especially if their parents are keen for them to have a partner. I even know one guy who got married because his weirdly enmeshed family kept on about it. He's miserable. He should have ignored them of course. It's one of those families that thinks only weirdos are single.

I'm with you OP. My DD, in the past, picked terrible men and I was sure I could match her with someone much more suitable. I often used to show young men I met through my job (very people oriented role) her photo. She of course was mortified 🤣. But it worked. She happily married with 2 kids now.
