Trigger Warning - Has my parents given my baby solids?

Hey! Just looking for a bit advice. Our little one has been overnight at the grandparents and we feel a little suspicious. Our baby has done a poo which seems to be thicker in consistency and we noticed threads and tiny clumps? His poo is normally really smooth and more liquidy.

Our baby is nearly 6 months but we haven’t tried him on any solids just yet.

Would you say our baby has been given solids? If so, what does it look like?

For Fucksake, couldn't you have put a trigger warning on that?

BarryShitpea · 05/05/2023 17:18

Wtf! Didn't need this at supper time.

Have you asked them? The only foods I've ever been able to identify are sweetcorn or beetroot (and half a blue wax crayon)

extensionswan001 · 05/05/2023 17:18

@SuperSange oh wow, no need to swear. A little rude? I mean given the name of the title, are you surprised?

I don’t understand the issue? You have to Click the ‘sensitive content’ photo before you see anything? So when someone reads the text then opens the photo, why the shock?

I'm on the app and the photo was just there, no option to reveal it.

It could just be some mucus from possible teething rather than solids. I don't think I noticed the poo texture change that much with the first bits of food DD tried.

Is there a reason why you can't ask grandparents, if you suspect they have?

UpUpUpU · 05/05/2023 17:22

looks like baby poo to me

BarryShitpea · 05/05/2023 17:23

There is no option on the app. Its just there.

SpaghettiSquash · 05/05/2023 17:23

OP - you really need to ask Mumsnet to edit the title to say there is a graphic image. Not what I wanted to see whilst eating.

Not if you're on the app. Really didn't need to see it!

GreenWheat · 05/05/2023 17:25

There a couple of things here. Mainly, is there some reason why you can't ask the grandparents directly, if you're concerned? But are you concerned, ie did your baby seem uncomfortable passing the poo? At nearly six months it isn't harmful for a baby to have some solids.

marshmallowsforbreakfast · 05/05/2023 17:26

Why don't you just ask them rather than get strangers on the internet to look at pictures of your babies shit? Bizarre

This!
I don't care about the poo pic, but it's a weird thing to post. Just ask them.

Mrsjayy · 05/05/2023 17:28

Well that was gross ! 😝 looks like teething poop rather than anything else . Did you ask them ?

LubaLuca · 05/05/2023 17:28

Yeah, there's a much easier way to get your answer than asking people to inspect a photo of a shitty nappy.

WedTheBed · 05/05/2023 17:30

No, I’d say this is normal for a 6 months old. Teething makes their poo’s look like they’ve got tiny bits of chewing gum in… and can smell a little vinegary!

🤢

Yeah I'm with the wtf OP, just opened up as a massive photo

TurquoiseDress · 05/05/2023 17:33

Oh Jesus I cannot un-see that!!!
Confused

TurquoiseDress · 05/05/2023 17:34

Err maybe ask the grandparents what they gave the baby to eat/drink??

And this is such a weird thing to post, just ask them

Clymene · 05/05/2023 17:36

If you don't trust whoever it is who looked after your baby (not scrolling back because I don't want to see that again), don't let them look after the baby

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 05/05/2023 17:36

I mean given the name of the title, are you surprised?

Are people surprised by a photo of your kids shit when there’s no warning?

Yeah I’d say so. Fucking hell

Sugargliderwombat · 05/05/2023 17:40

🤣🤣🤣🤣 my baby has just started solids I am so un-shocked by this photo.

Op if they'd never had solids there would be bits of food in it. It just looks like they have maybe drunk a little less or thicker formula or something. The strings can just be mucus from teething or just their tummies. Doesn't look like my babies weaning poop at all. How old is your baby ?
