Need some advice. Not sure what to say .
One mum whose son is in my sons class (Year 4) is so full of herself. Very outspoken to the point of rude. She will pull a child up about his/her behaviour, one that is not hers and put him in his place. Its not her job so find it very annoying when she does it. She dresses in the classy way to look rich. She even states , "My son would NEVER do that !" My son once said something at school to her son to gain attention and amusement, (he has mild ADHD) . She told me it was dispicable, even though i did apologise. She has told me when i have explained about my sons problems that he is "Extremely irritating".
Today she told me in all seriousness "Its not cricket rules. . .its Cricket LAW". . . .What the .......k ??????
Stupid woman .

Any advice to deal with Miss Perfect/Bossy/Speak you mind please.??

So what about the people who are friendly half the time, and refuse to look at you the other half....(most of the parents at DD's nursery)

SuSylvester · 18/05/2010 18:49

yes
do you know what
i have a handful of mates. I dont give a toss about most of the rest.

notnowbernard · 18/05/2010 18:49

She doesn't seem the shy wallflower type (can you guess at my hidden meaning there)

And she talks to other people

Perhaps I shout shout her an overly cheery "Hallo!" tomorrow and see what happens...

PortBlacksand · 18/05/2010 18:49

I am an artist and drop the DCs off on the way to my studio, i sometimes wear my work gear if i have a busy day (no school run dress for me ). The other day i had a job spray painting some stuff at a local park and i dropped them off wearing my paint splattered overalls...

I overheard two mums not, as you might imagine, laughing at my scruffiness; but actually calling me a show off. n.b. they were in suits obv about to go to work too.

You cannot win with some folk...

notnowbernard · 18/05/2010 18:50

should shout

ahundredtimes · 18/05/2010 18:50

Fanjo - those are people who are just going about their business and or have a headache, aren't in the mood to talk.

They are just people, who don't imagine anyone would feel slighted because they don't talk to other parents everyday at nursery.

SuSylvester · 18/05/2010 18:50

the mistake is to listen
obv not everyone likes everyone
move on move on

maltesers · 18/05/2010 18:51

There is one mum who is so weird. She never says hello . I have even asked her child to tea, birthday party etc and she doesnt even respond. I know its not me, and just think its so strange and bit sad that she is so shy she cant even say Hi. . . . .I have given up saying hello as i pass her now. . .as she just blanks me. I have been a mum for 22 years and have never come accross any mother so weird in that respect.
BTW Susylveter as you can see deary i am not 4 !!!!!!! lol

I can't believe you've got to year 4 and only come across one, we met ours on day two of reception.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/05/2010 18:51

ahundredtimes - oh is THAT it...I am new to this nursery lark you see!

compo · 18/05/2010 18:51

this makes me sound ancient but as you get older you realise the transitory nature of friendships
I tried really hard at toddler groups to make a couple of friends and it worked, but now kids are older I don't see them any more
so now at playgroup some mornings I chat inanaely to someone or other days I sit there checking my phone
I know who my good mates are and i know in 10 years time I won't see this primary mums again cos once kids are at secondary sch they'll be no school run yearns

skidoodly · 18/05/2010 18:51

I'm just someone who appears to know more about cricket than you do. And I know fuck all about cricket.

SuSylv is right, you do sound like a pissed off child. Maybe that's why you hate her? Because her manner is meant to intimidate 8 year olds.

ahundredtimes · 18/05/2010 18:52

maltesers - there is a pattern developing here. You are objecting to the loud and to the shy

who is left at your school gates?

SawneyBeane · 18/05/2010 18:52

My DD clearly goes to Enid Blyton Primary, as all the parents are friendly.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/05/2010 18:52

ouch

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/05/2010 18:52

ouch was to skidoodly....that was harsh

SuSylvester · 18/05/2010 18:53

to your face.//
all you need is to beill - then you find out who your mates are.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/05/2010 18:53

my DD clearly goes to a nursery where all the parents have regular headaches!

SuSylvester · 18/05/2010 18:54

who cares.
anyone who SERIOUSLY thinks they will make mates from life from a playground - with a few excpetions is dementoid.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/05/2010 18:54

oh dear..I could collapse and die on the nursery steps and they would walk over me.

stepfordwife · 18/05/2010 18:54

yes, mumsnut!
but the second i read dresses in a "classy" manner, knew it wasn't me

ahundredtimes · 18/05/2010 18:54

Everyone is friendly at heart

everyone is well-intentioned

not everyone wants to talk all the time

some people aren't looking for friends

some people are

it's not PERSONAL

it's all quite normal

these my nursery, school-gate truths
