Just thinking it about my 6 year old. I wouldn't say it to her.

Just about to have tea and she just said she wouldn't tell me as I don't listen as I don't care about her.

I know she is just being a madam and knows I love her but it still hurts.

I have come upstairs and left dh to sort them out.

Ds1 just came in but I sent him away as he started it.

OMG I cannot believe how sanctimonious some of these posts are.

I have called my dc names in my head loads of times. I thought everyone did. Never say it to them though, just like OP!

unltd · 03/05/2010 17:30

Send the 6 year old to her room with a harsh warning not to be cheeky & not to tell lies?

Seems better than you hiding in your room

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:31

Thank you.

It is much better to post on here than take it out on the child.

fab this just reminded me of my shoe thread a long time ago, dd threw her shoe at me, I vented but I used a swear word and ended up being hounded for months, all kids do this to us no matter what your personal situation. There is a good reason nobody warns you beforehand

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:33

Sometimes this place is a hard place to be.

Compost · 03/05/2010 17:35

I think it is ok to be thinking the name about your dd, but imo where you are going wrong is going upstairs and leaving dh to deal with it. Face the dc if one or either of them is lying, and sort it out.

I notice you often 'go upstairs' and leave dh with it.

Bloody nora - all 6 year olds can be cheeky little cows. All children can be irritating little sods. It is the nature of childhood.

SUrely thi is a place to express this if nowhere else

personally I have no qualms in telling my children exactly how they make me feel - and they're all doing pretty well

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:36

I don't. I left the room so as to not shout.

OP posts:
Shodan · 03/05/2010 17:36

Coo.

Some right po-faced cats-bum-mouths on here.

Ignore all, Fab.

Ds1 is 14 and has sometimes accused me of not loving him. It's always after he's done something he shouldn't have and has been told off for.

I prescribe a cuppa tea, chocolate and a nice bath. And an early night for children who are plainly Very Tired.

shimmerygoldglitter · 03/05/2010 17:36

It really does depend on the day Fab. I once posted two similar threads but around a month apart, the first time everyone got it and had a good laugh and loads of good responses. The second time got some right tight arses. Someone on the second thread actually pointed out the discrepancy. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

activate · 03/05/2010 17:36

no no compoist is wrong - walk away if it's doing your head in - that's the beauty of 2 parents

MoneyNoPockets · 03/05/2010 17:38

Blimey, Fab do you need a flak jacket some people are very judgy today.

Hope Dh cheers up.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:38

Sometimes I just want to rant on here so as to not shout at the kids.

Sometimes I want people to acknowledge I am trying as God knows I have no reference point.

Sometimes I just want someone to tell me what to do. Nicely.

OP posts:
ditavionteased · 03/05/2010 17:38

again I agree the best think to do is leave them when you are angry.

MoneyNoPockets · 03/05/2010 17:38

As no wine, how about chocolate?

EggyAllenPoe · 03/05/2010 17:39

umm..children are annoying..and some have a particular penchant for pushing us to our very limits..

My dad always let my mum sort everything out. So long as someone is doing it, that's being a partnership, no?

MoneyNoPockets · 03/05/2010 17:40

Fab, could you sit everyone down and ask what happened, using a wooden spoon can help - by that i mean only the person holding the spoon can talk and everyone gets as many turns as is needed and then lay down some new house rules?

BuckBuckMcFate · 03/05/2010 17:41

Oh Fab, ignore the holier than thous.

I regularly think mine are behaving like 'nobs' in my head, but I would never, ever dream of calling them 'nobs'. But sometimes they are being nobs and it is the only word that does justice to explain their behaviour.

ditavionteased · 03/05/2010 17:41

not beating them all with the wooden spoon then?

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:47

Actually, dd is probably tired and I suppose I am being daft thinking that having the morning out with her to spend her money and then cooking tea for us all to have together should mean a happy house.

This lying is a new-ish thing and I think we are handling it wrong so will address that.

They will be in bed by 7 so that helps.

MoneyNoPackets - I have a couple of biscuits I will have later.

Dita

Enjoy them in the calm Fab

Undercovamutha · 03/05/2010 17:54

There's an awful lot of judgey judgey-pants on this thread. Is there some law about getting frustrated with our kids now? I regularly have had to go out of the room to mutter swear words under my breath after a particularly trying DD-related episode. And DH and I quite often ask each other to sort the DCs out when we feel that we are at screaming point. IT'S CALLED A PARTNERSHIP!

Fab, you have done nothing wrong - you are only human and I prescribe a bit of chill time, a bar of choc and a good soak in the bath. Am at all the Peter Perfects on this thread. Must be lovely to never put a foot wrong .

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 03/05/2010 17:56

Thank you to you as well Undercovamutha.

I really thought I was doing the right thing by walking away and posting on here.

WhiteNoise · 03/05/2010 18:01

I chuckled at the wooden spoon thing too
