I am just soooooo peed off with my two yr old ds. A couple of weeks ago we had a sudocreme episode where he smothered it over absolutely everything - as you all know its a bloody buggar to get out of carpets etc, water resistant and all - anyway i haven't bought anymore at the mo. but today he got hold of the diprobase and has done the same bloody thing - God its going to be a long day. Sorry, just having a moan.

It's not silly at all. We've all been there and unfortunately will be there again (and again and again...) You just do the best you can each time and then move on. Looking back I find it hard to believe that I got as upset as I did on Thursday, but, there you have it. He just pushed all my buttons.

madmarchhare · 11/06/2005 11:49

Its not silly at all. Go outside, run around and have fun with the others. 1. it will release some endorphines into your brain and 2. DS2 should want to join in eventually

Sax · 11/06/2005 11:50

jabberwocky, he just runs inside, he wants to have the tantrum right under my feet even though I'm ignoring it (I'm not sweating quite so much now, trying to slow my breathing down, shit its horrible to feel so wobbly - i know you know what its like huggy!) i thought these panics had stopped! crazy......he is quieter now - probably exhausted

well, write it down anyway so youve got it just incase.

tbh, when mine are having tantrums i tend to throw chocolate at them just to shut them up so i can have a minute to calm down

Sax · 11/06/2005 11:52

ds1 - happy and playing
ds3 now happy and playing

ds2 sitting crying but not screaming - copable now - sorry guys

OP posts:
huggybear · 11/06/2005 11:53

how are they now sax?

ds2's been having a tantrum but have put him in his cot to scream to himself for a bit, he's shut up now!

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 11:54

Just a thought, would music or a video distract/calm him? Fantasia worked beautifully on ds the other day.

madmarchhare · 11/06/2005 11:54

Yey, time for choccie (for you, that is) - I think that does the endorphine thing as well

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 11:55

Glad things are better sax. It's tough, I know and the panic attacks make things worse I'm sure. I had them before ds and they are awful!

huggybear · 11/06/2005 11:55

dont go saying sorry!

you've been there for me when i needed some one to panic too! and i really appreciate it, i understand the feelings and dont forget to write my number down - even if you dont want to talk about how you feel, if you just want to take your mind of this by talking crap about the weather! i know what a difference talking to someone makes.

Sax · 11/06/2005 11:55

I've tried the sweets - tried the tele - he just wants the bloody toy! - he has restarted the wash three times by dialing the knob himself - silly idiot! I can't give in or he'll do it everytime and think he's won

he's not too noisy now

thank you guys for the support - sorry it was stupid to get in such a state

OP posts:
madmarchhare · 11/06/2005 11:56

Youre apologising again!!!

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 11:57

That's what makes MN so great. Please don't feel stupid - you've got 3 little ones and that would be enough to put me in a panic all by itself!

Sax · 11/06/2005 11:58

I don't have any chocolate - don't have any alcohol either which is the biggest shame - nice glass of wine would go down a treat!!!!!! i know I hear you all shout - thats not the answer - but I am not exactly thinking along the 'lets be healthy' line at the moment

OP posts:
madmarchhare · 11/06/2005 11:58

I know, I say you probably do a better job job than me every day!

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 11:59

have to admit to having a glass of wine myself at times...

madmarchhare · 11/06/2005 11:59

just a glass?

Sax · 11/06/2005 12:01

Mmmmmmm a glass would be a good start......a bottle would take the edge off.....now theres my excuse to get my arse upstairs and get dressed!!!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 12:01

I'd rather not say...

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 12:01

But yes, several definitely takes the edge off!

Sax · 11/06/2005 12:03

Trouble is he is still bloody crying so we aren't going anywhere yet!!!!!! He needs a sleep! I think I need to stop the wash but then he'll be soaked!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 12:05

I had thought of that. Of course, if you do stop the wash, will he then understand that playing with a soaking wet toy is no fun? Is there a place he could handle it without getting water everywhere? (That's probably a silly question)

Sax · 11/06/2005 12:06

Monsters Inc now on, he's so tired he's forgotten he was crying - seems to have worked ........ all is quiet

OP posts:
snafu · 11/06/2005 12:09

Oooh, can I join in? Ds is two next week and easing himself nicely into full-blown terrible twos And we had a paddling-pool-poo the other day as well - luckily it was our pool though!

jabberwocky · 11/06/2005 12:11

Yea Sax! I'm off for a bit now, but very glad things have calmed down for you.
