Non-standard yet insightful descriptions your children have come up with...( poo talk warning for those of a delicate disposition)

DS1 yesterday:

"Mummy my poo is a bit spicy!"

Quite an apt way to descpibe the kind of poos which leave your backside burning I thought and more appropriate for children than "my arse is on fire"!

hmm perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned poo at lunchtime!

Not a poo one but my DS says his feet feel 'all pingly' which I think is a cross between pins and needles and tingly!

Ooh I like 'pingly'

ds1 used to call DP's headphones his 'song hat'.

Ds2 calls his toy xylophone 'the ding-ding machine' and calls tears 'eye drops'.

My favourite is when my children as for a "hug, up in the sky" (lifted up for a cuddle).

There is a certain cloud formation known as "runny poo" in our house.

Ds, aged 4, having been read a book about God making us given to his grandfather, promptly asked 'Well who made God?'

DD1 describes fingerless gloves as poking-out gloves.

Open toed shoes are poking out shoes, high heels are tiptoe shoes. High heeled sandals are tiptoe-poking-out shoes.

until recently ds described his grandpa's walking stick as a 'boing'

DD calls fireworks "fire drops"

Ds2 when aged 3 announced that he had smoke coming out of his bottom ...

A well known property board game is known as Mr Nobbly in our house

When my dh was telling off dd1 aged 3 recently, earnestly kneeling down in front of her to impress the wrongness of what she'd done, she pointed to the wrinkles on his forehead and said 'Oh Daddy, I do like your stripes!'. Hard to carry on being cross when they come out with stuff like that!

"Daddy, when you lived in London as a little boy, did you get to see the great fire of London?" - new topic as school and the timeline aspect has clearly gone unnoticed.
