Thats it really, any suggestions are welcome.

I have been looking at waterproof type things with a velcro fixing tab for when DS2 is in his baby carrier but I'm not convinced they will stay on. Also just something soft for in the house, his toes are so icy.

TIGHTS!!!

And for outside those all in one fleecy thingy.

ILikeToHoHoHo · 20/12/2008 18:14

I find GAP socks are the best. The towelling ones are best for lo's and look really warm.

francagoestohollywood · 20/12/2008 18:15

and those little leather booties are good as well, though not sure they are warm enough for outside.

gap all the way. the triple rollover keeps them on And it's 3 pairs for £5

YeahBut · 20/12/2008 18:16

Inside, Gap socks with the triple rollover top are the bost. They also have antislip soles.

francagoestohollywood · 20/12/2008 18:16

Yes, I second the gap socks (over tights... )

dinkystinkyclaus · 20/12/2008 18:29

Another vote for Gap socks - the only ones I ever found for DS that stayed on...

spicemonster · 20/12/2008 18:35

I have to say that I think gap socks are one of those things you wish people had told you about before you had your pfb. Took me months to find them and then I told my marvellous secret to friends with older children, they were all 'oh yes, everyone knows about gap socks'

hedgepig · 20/12/2008 18:36

thanks it look like a trip to GAP is needed

Im so glad Ive just found this thread. Im in exactly the same situation with DS (5 months), he kicks his legs so much he struggles to keep socks on for any longer than 5 minutes.

I too will be visiting GAP - thanks for that ladies!

psychohohohoho · 20/12/2008 23:31

another one saying baby gap.

with all of my five, t'was only baby gap socks that stayed put!

Alishanty · 20/12/2008 23:38

Tights here. Even the baby gap socks fell off.

emkana · 20/12/2008 23:39

these are good

ChirpyGrinch · 20/12/2008 23:44

DD1 was fine with Gap socks
DD2 could get them off, and those sock on things, tights are the only guarantee I'm afraid (and they still end up 6 foot longer than her legs)

lisad123 · 20/12/2008 23:46

i brought slightly fluffy ones from matalan and put those over her baby grown, worked for me and cheaper than GAP socks

Poodlehorse · 21/12/2008 10:47

Gap socks get my vote too

aidansyummymummy · 21/12/2008 10:50

the link that emkana has done for sock ons is good. We had a pair and they were excellent.

treadwithcare · 21/12/2008 22:17

Buy some 'sock-ons' - utterly brilliant invention - they're elasticated material and you put them on over a pair of socks and they keep them on. They come in a range of colours - pink, white, blue etc. Can't recommend them enough. I was bought them as a gift but I've just googled them and it listed stockists in the UK.

emkana · 21/12/2008 22:18

treadwithcare I posted a link to them further down

alittleteapot · 21/12/2008 22:30

I think the Gap socks being good thing is an urban myth. Another vote for tights here.

alittleteapot · 21/12/2008 22:31

correction, obvs not an urban myth as they've done the trick for others, but they didn't work for us, hence TIGHTS!

aidansyummymummy · 21/12/2008 22:50

JoJo Maman bebe sell sock ons for £4 with free postage

cityangel · 22/12/2008 04:08

we got these in the US (way
cheaper there) they really stay on

I saw the thread title and clicked thinking "ooh I'll recommend Gap triple roll socks"! They really work. get a size too big if they're not walking yet, they go over the knees then.

SpecialOffer · 22/12/2008 07:51

I recommend the trainer type socks (just fit on feet not ankles), i got mine from Primark, although they are not in over Christmas period. They never came off my son and were so cheap. All other types would be off in seconds of putting them on!
