I just want to let everyone know that I just want to keep everyone updated which is why I'm posting so much but high today my daughter started our first day of kindy because they let me in to just do a test day and oh my god did it go bad you're still letting her go in on Monday but she woke up in a horrible mood didn't want to try it today at all and from the report I have gotten she she was trying to bite someone so don't know how to react to that and she refused to eat the food I sent with her because I forgot to use the cookie cutter I feel like such a bad mom she went in for her appointment and I finally talked to the pediatrician and did prescribe something a bit more better for someone her age formula that's a plus I don't know what to do now except cry

I might have to call the local school nursery it sounds like the half an hour travel is worth it if they can help with all this @Teachingagain

@Teachingagain that's just a person who has an autistic child i meet in the park she's having assessment at the end of the month then we'll find out if she has asd

Someone you meet in the park is not qualified to say if your daughter has autism.

@Permittedperson I I don't even know what they can do from me just not medically wrong with me

The GP can offer anti-anxiety meds and Counselling if you’re feeling low and you have said tgat you’re crying so you may be in need of some support from your GP..

Also ASD is often hereditary so it might be worth starting your reflect avd see if there is a chance that you could be ND as well as your DD?

Has the HV referred your DD to Portage and to Occupational Therapy?

And has she put you in touch with any local groups for parents of DC with additional needs?

Are SS involved too? I believe that is normal practice with teen pregnancies?

She won’t be in Reception at that age though.

I asked before she said she was 3

BunnyRuddington · 13/09/2025 11:08

And dyslexia would often go hand in hand with ASD and or ADHD.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:10

@Permittedperson I I mean before all this kicked off when she used to eat a lot she did complain of a certain few foods I might bring that up next meeting

That’s why I’m saying have they done all the relevant tests?

DD had a poo test, urine tests and bloods. Lots of urine and bloods but only one or two poo tests thank goodness.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:12

@Permittedperson only reason why I say this is because he has a child with autism

He still isn’t qualified to diagnose your child.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:18

@BunnyRuddingtonI might look into that because my anxiety has been spiking and I have been thinking I might have autism but my mother doesn't believe in all of that so I was never diagnosed and she is in speech therapy but they're mostly trying to teach her sign language as she's non-verbal sometimes I talk to a few parents but I would be too nervous meet anyone in real life
And social services are involved which is why I'm able to get these appointments

OP posts:
Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:21

@Permittedperson they've only Done 1 or 2 pee tests and o poo ones as they were mostly done her formula only in take

I mean I honestly can't wait for the end of the month let's see if I'm just a bad mom or she actually has autism actually

rainbowstardrops · 13/09/2025 12:03

I’m sure you’re not a bad mum @Newishmom. You’re very young and clearly finding this tricky situation difficult right now. A lot of us do/did!
How supportive is your mum or other family members?

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 12:10

@rainbowstardrops not at all they basically set up they wouldn't help me at all if I decide to have her the only one that even bother to come to the hospital was my older sis

Oh that must be so difficult for you. Even now that your daughter is very much here, does your mum bother with her, or babysit or anything?
I couldn’t imagine turning my back on my 15 year old daughter when she needed me the most Flowers

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 12:22

I asked one time just so I can go in to apply for benefits and she told me to fuck off if I couldn't handle it i shouldn't have had her@rainbowstardrops

It really sucks I'm honestly so confused she was so nice when I was younger @rainbowstardrops

ninjahamster · 13/09/2025 15:54

This sounds really difficult for you. I’m glad you have an assessment for her at the end of the month, if she is diagnosed then you will be able to get support in place.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 16:36

I hope this doctor sees what everyone else does @ninjahamster

Does she actually engage with your daughter though? Forgetting about not babysitting.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 16:58

Yes but nothing nice was said to my daughter @rainbowstardrops

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 17:18

I mean I'm in social housing And I receive the welfare @BunnyRuddington

OP posts:
Permittedperson · 13/09/2025 17:53

What do you mean by welfare?

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 17:58
