I just want to let everyone know that I just want to keep everyone updated which is why I'm posting so much but high today my daughter started our first day of kindy because they let me in to just do a test day and oh my god did it go bad you're still letting her go in on Monday but she woke up in a horrible mood didn't want to try it today at all and from the report I have gotten she she was trying to bite someone so don't know how to react to that and she refused to eat the food I sent with her because I forgot to use the cookie cutter I feel like such a bad mom she went in for her appointment and I finally talked to the pediatrician and did prescribe something a bit more better for someone her age formula that's a plus I don't know what to do now except cry

I mean it's public preschool we just call it kindy and kindergarten around the kid because there isn't really too many good educational kids shows made in the UK @Permittedperson

@Newishmom Because you said feel like a bad mum and all you want to do is cry.

I already said that to you in my first reply?

Right. But calling it kindy and not the proper name to the adults on here means that people won’t understand what it is and that makes it hard to give you advice.

@Permittedperson well the place I'm going to does allow custom schedules so I do probably need to schedule that kind
Full day is 9 to 12
I've talked to her health advisor and they said I'm doing what's best it just takes her time to adjust
And I'm not too sure why I would need to go to the GP

I think people are suggesting you speak to your GP about how you’re feeling as you’re coming across as feeling a bit overwhelmed and might need sone support?

purpleme12 · 13/09/2025 10:27

There are quite a lot of educational kids shows on cbeebies which are made in the UK

Well I always thought so, but my kids are adults so I assume it might be different now?

Mr Tumble? Balamory? Your woman that flies the plane with pippin the dog?

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:30

@BunnyRuddington actually actually I have I'm after booking a zoom meeting for an assessment
It was both and and arfid thay are helping me get her diagnosed with both
And I was very little support outside of professionals and you guys none of my family really care that they all cut me off when I decided to have her at 15 and my ex moved away after finding out i was going through with it

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:33

@Teachingagain do you think that school nursery would take her as she's not in potty training or trained
Right now we're in the middle of getting all the forms and the assessment to get diagnosed

OP posts:
Permittedperson · 13/09/2025 10:35

Can I suggest that instead of starting new threads every time you update just one thread? Just then all the relevant information will be in one place, instead of people having to go and look for it.

ARFID is a tough road - I’m not going to lie. My DD had it and it was a very hard lot of years.

Have you had all the tests to make sure it’s not allergies and/or intolerances?

it often goes hand in hand with ASD and PDA.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:35

@Permittedperson to be honest I'm so focused on my child I can't even focus on myself until after this is over I've just really want her to succeed and not to become like me

OP posts:
Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:38

@purpleme12@Permittedperson well sorry I should have been more specific ones she likes I don't even know how to get up Balamory or metoo I'm hoping she likes metoo as I loved that one

OP posts:
Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:42

Yeah I'm sorry I'm gonna try and keep it in this thread and maybe only move if it's getting two full
And we're getting hard diagnosed with arfid she doesn't have any common energies we've checked
And my doctor do you say that they do often connect

Sweetheart you’re 18. You’ve a lifetime to do all sorts. But you won’t be the best mother for your child unless you look after yourself too.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:50

@Teachingagain not yet all of the people she has Matt and the medical field has said she does seem to be on the spectrum

@Newishmom I’m sorry but I don’t understand what you mean here: we're getting hard diagnosed with arfid she doesn't have any common energies we've checked.

(probably because I’m old!). What do you mean by you’re getting hard diagnosed with arfid? And common energies - I assume that means allergies? It’s not just about allergies - it’s about intolerances. They need to do various tests for that - including a poo test. Have they done that?

Teachingagain · 13/09/2025 10:54

What do you mean she has matt?

Who has said they think she maybe autistic? They need to be asking them to make a referal to a community paedetrictian to autism assessment.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 10:56

@Permittedperson I I don't even know what they can do from me just not medically wrong with me

Yes, they have to take her. In both my children’s nursery class there were diagnosed and as yet undiagnosed autistic kids in nappies. They have plans to deal with it.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:00

@Permittedperson I'm sorry I'm dyslexic and it's hard to read and I don't understand what I've done wrong in a text no there is notting wrong with her body in intolerances or allergy based it's all psychological

I was only asking had they done all the relevant bloods and urine and poo tests.

Because actually it’s quite a long road to get to that stage. DD had 6 (from memory) allergens and intolerances which we believe had kicked off her ARFID.

Newishmom · 13/09/2025 11:03
