I have a nearly 3 yo dd and a nearly 1 yo dd. Whilst pregnant with dd2 I often felt regretful and suicidal. Since having her it has got worse. I feel now like I can’t cope. DD1 goes to a childminders twice a week, nothing for DD2. My house is in disarray. I cannot cope with caring for them what do I do please someone help me.

Please reach.out to.your GP.or HV or a friend.
Tiny children are hard work. You.might have PND. It will not be such a grind forever.
Do.you.have a partner? Or parents around?

I tried again with gp and hv at end of last week. Hv said they were too busy with newborn checks to give me and appointment and gp said there are no appointments. Is there anywhere else I can contact for support does anyone know?

They can’t be too busy with newborn checks that they are not giving anyone appointments, they’re robbing you off. Phone back, don’t mention it being related to pregnancy as that was a while ago and just tell them you are suicidal and need support. Does your partner no how you feel? Or any family?

MissPeachyKeen · 13/07/2025 19:26

Does your gp know that you are feeling suicidal? Because they will typically prioritise appointments in such cases. It's worth being explicit with the receptionist when you call.

Your GP's website may also have details of who to contact when in crisis and its out of hours.

The Samaritans are there 24/7 when you need to talk: 116 123

We're here to listen as well if you'd prefer to talk with us?

If you feel that you or your children aren't safe this evening though, please do call 999. Flowers

PinkPanda99 · 13/07/2025 23:37

Please call 111 and explicitly tell them that you are feeling suicidal as it does change things. I have had severe mental health issues and when having a mental health crises couldn’t get anyone to listen either so I spoke to 111 and they helped me. They are 24/7. It’s super important that you get the help now before things deteriorate. Please keep talking to us too, I really feel for you, with the right help things do get better. 3 and 1 are tough ages even without additional issues on top, mine are 9,7 and 3 now, I am in a better place. Please let us know how you get on too.

We really hope things start feeling a bit easier for you soon.
