Bleeding nappy rash - help!

My 5.5 week old has had nappy rash since she was a week old. We have tried

Sudocream
Yellow metanium
Nystatin (oral)
Vaseline
Fucidin cream with vaseline on top - currently there days in

We don't use wipes, only warm water and cotton wool. I've given up orange juice because that seemed to upset her tummy.

We are coming up on our fourth visit to the GP with this next week. I would love to see her nappy rash improving because it looks so sore, and as it occasionally bleeds, the GP says she is at risk of an infection (hence the antibiotic cream as a precaution).

I know no nappy time helps, but she's so small she screams when she's undressed and also wees and poos a LOT. We manage 30 mins a day without a nappy on a puppy pad (and heating on). Any tips on other ways to manage no nappy time? Or other nappy rash treatments?

@OtterMummy2024 have you tried rascal and friends nappies which are only stocked in Tesco? My twins had sensitive bums and these worked really well for them and won't break the bank!

Have you had a swab taken, one of mine had strep A.

Took the GP far too long to diagnose it.

Peeling skin, it was grim.

Clean bottom with warm water, pat dry and apply egg White. Allow to dry before putting on clean nappy.

Give this burts bees a try, it's 40% zinc oxide so not only provides a barrier it also helps heel the skin too. I tried all the usual nappy cream plus steroids/ anti fungal with DS and nothing has worked like this. It's honestly been a miracle! But also to echo others, try different nappies too!

I know this thread is old but second burts bees - turns out my son was allergic to the nappy creams! Everything we tried except burts bees.

As an update: switching to Boots Little Stories bamboo nappies made a massive difference. We've had to donate the Pampers we had left, as every time we put her back in them, the nappy rash flared back up.

As some people warned me, her first set of vaccinations brought the nappy rash back, though not bleeding bad. Hours of no nappy time, Vaseline at every change and bamboo nappies did the trick for us. Now that it's warm, baby loves no nappy time! And we have about 60 puppy pads in the house so she can wriggle and wee to her heart's content 😅
