Hello!

Post here if you have 2 or more kids under 3yrs.

We were formerly the 2 under 2 thread, but some inconsiderate DCs went and had birthdays.

candle party info
hth?
think the same as any of these things, don't buy anything you don't want to. best to set yourself a possible budget in case you see something you really want.
i went to a pampered chef party with a budget of £20 a while back and didn't by anything, the one thing i might have bought was about £40 so restrained myself!
had fun drinking and eating tho!!!

cazwa - got the cat back yet
bad luck re peanuts, hope appt tomorrow helps with things. sex, twice, wow! are you, trying that is??

hi don'tlookatme & welcome
i want no3 (and maybe 4...) but have given myself 2009 off! will be ttcing in jan 2010 - also 2 year break after em-cs which the mws have recommended to try and get a HBAC.

Grrl - good luck for thurs def try the rescue remedy, works wonders for me - took it for travelling to majorca with in-laws last sept, with ds1 (18mo at the time) & pg with ds2, holiday from hell, and i floated through plama airport....

jewels - did you enjoy SATC? i never got into the programme so not fussed about going to see the film but have heard good things about it. dd's hair sounds fab just looked at your photos, yep you get my glam vote

chaotica - dh liked all his cards ds2 has bed eczema on his face but haven't started weaning yet anyway. and i'm too fond of all my food to try and cut out stuff from my diet will just keep going with the diprobase for now.

ds2 been puking all day yest and today not sure what's the matter, hoping not a d&v bug that will move onto ds1 and me & dh....
i had a garlic kiev for dinner 2 nights ago and worrying that was it but wouldn't have thought it would still be bothering him today?
he also has a cold so that might be it?
who knows.
he's napping now - had the world's yukiest bf nappy earlier, really made me gag, so hopeful that the bug is working it's way out....

Kaybeeand2boys · 18/06/2008 08:49

Hi everyone

lol at that candle party stuff, it's just like a tuppaware(?) party but with candles instead! My friend went to a card party yesterday... what will they think of next!

I went to SATC on weds with my SIL and her friends, it was great. Finished very late though (for me) and by the time i got to bed it was after midnight . I had to walk home from the station and was a bit freaked out - it's a long time since I have had to wander around in the dark by myself at that time of night!

DS1 is watching Pocoyo and DS2 in asleep at the mo, so i finally have a minute to post....

good luck for your driving test Grrrl

Jewelsandgems · 18/06/2008 13:45

Thanks for the candle party ingo swimming and thanks to everyone for the glam comments (though not sure attending this candle party is endorsing the glamourousness! and note picture if head and shoulders only - this is because my arms and tops are usually stylishly embellished with baby sick )

Sorry to hear about the vomit-a-thon at your house swimming, here's hoping it's now on it's way out and that no one else gets it!

DD2 has been a grumpy baby today but the good news is I managed to put her down for a nap unswaddled today. Granted, she should have slept for 1 1/2 hours and she only made 45 mins, but still a leap forward I think.

DH says he's going to be really late tonight so, although I won;t be putting squitty and freya to be on my own, it won't be far off.

Am going to hang the washing out and then have a turkish delight!

jewels- you look younger than 30. in fact, you look younger than me and i'm 26...i need some sleep!!!!!

Chaotica · 18/06/2008 23:16

LOL My knowledge of candle parties is now immeasurably increased (never know it might come in handy sometime).

Braved the weather today and was rewarded with the best local adventure playground being virtually empty (and before everyone thinks me totally mad, it was quite windy but only a little bit rainy on and off). So DD got to hang around on the more exciting equipment without a dozen older kids blocking her path and even DS went down one of the slides with me (a really wide one). I did a good job at qualifying for the bad-mummy of the week award though only after DD came down a huge slide headfirst looking a little surprised did I notice a sign which said it wasn't recommended for kids under 9 or those with rubber boots on ( again) just the thing for a two year old wearing wellies then... (It was a tiny sign in a funny place though )

...On my own tonight for baths and bedtime, seem to have managed OK without DP's help.

justkeepswimming · 19/06/2008 06:51

Good luck with driving test today Grrl

chaotica - not even close surely for the award - i mean she didn't even bang her head AND you were watching her not chatting on your phone

you know how sometimes life just works out?
well dh got off work early yesterday, home in time for bath and bedtime.
both boys slept perfectly 7-6 and now dh is watching (yet more) fireman sam with ds1 while i surf upstairs with ds2 chatting away to himself
and i have a cup of tea!

(of course i am lopsided as he's only had one feed so i have one ENORMOUS boob!

if only dh never had to work....

right, more surfing before my quiet time runs out, off to toddler group later.
ds2 did one more puke yesterday evening but seems happier today - will be taking spare clothes for EVERYONE today tho!

TattooedGrrrl · 19/06/2008 07:24

thanks for all your good lucks- my test is at 1.30pm. I feel ok, although i did dream last night that i got to the test centre and i'd lost my theory cert and license, so i had to do my test on a push bike, and i kept losing my balance when i had to stick my arm out to indicate Fairly sure that won't happen!

Chaotica · 19/06/2008 12:35

good luck again, Grrrl!

hazeyjane · 19/06/2008 15:38

Hello. Hope everyone on here and their lovely lo's are ok. Haven't posted for ages, because everyone in the Hazeyjane house keeps getting ill, and dd1 has had some sort of freakout, which means she has been sleeping really really badly, and is scared of lots of things (chairs, dripping tap, bed (of course), baby moniter etc etc)it has been getting me down quite a lot, so when I do come on Mumsnet, I write one line posts of the "what song is in your head, right now..." variety.

I keep on having a peek at this thread, but have been bad at keeping up with all that is going on, anyway, hope that evryone is enjoying the chaos.

Dd2 had her 1st birthday a couple of weeks ago, i can't believe how quickly the last year has gone.

Hope your driving test went well Grrrl.

Candle parties, glamourous mummies, what the hell have i missed!

Cazwa · 19/06/2008 22:49

Hi Hazeyjane, hope things are settling down in your house soon, we've all been through those phases.

GRRRL - how did the test go????

Gem - Im not talking to you anymore now Ive seen your profile pic, you are too glam to be my friend

Im really old in comparison to you lot, Im 33! Can anyone top that?

ANyone watch Greys Anatomy, Im watching now and its always brilliant.

Dont read this if you are sleep-deprived, I will make you sick. My children have slept 7pm-7.30am for the last 5 nights, plus I have had a 1 hour nap every afternoon. Sorry.

TattooedGrrrl · 20/06/2008 08:55

Failed, but i didn't deserve to.

Examiner claimed i wasn't using my mirrors at all, when i certainly was. As a result, every lane change / roundabout etc, she marked as a fault. I did a perfect bay park and reverse round a corner, didn't speed, no cock ups. I had another examiner in the car aswell, who was marking her. After they got out at the end, it looked like he was giving her a dressing down- my instructor said as he had been in the back, he would have seen me using the mirrors, but he couldn't overturn her decision anyway. She seemed to spend half her time looking out of the window and talking about the weather The worst thing is the cost- i need to find another £100 for the lesson and test.

hazeyjane · 20/06/2008 09:24

Grrrl, sorry about your test. What a nightmare, I guess it's just luck who you have as an examiner on the day. I'm still having lessons (think i've finally found a good instructor, after a hundred or so lessons!). I've got my theory test on the 19th July, then will have my test booked - I'm shitscared(sorry!), and hate every lesson with a passion, but would love to not have to rely on dh for lifts everywhere.

Cazwa at sleep of your lo's, dd1 woke between 2 and 3.30 last night then up at 6. dd2 woke at 4 and then up at 5.

Oh and I'm 39 on the 29th June

Chaotica · 20/06/2008 18:02

I'm already 39
(although have two dcs so close together has almost made me lose count)

Sorry to hear about your test, Grrrl. When I did my practice test, I remember failing on mirrors (and a load of other things) which made me really obvious about looking in them (theatrical almost). Sounds a bit odd (and shit) having the examiner being tested too though, and I avoided all conversation (I'd probably have told her to shut up).

Hello again, Hazeyjane. Glad to see you're still around. We have phases of DD being scared of things which didn't used to bother her lately I've been getting her to help me with the vacuum, or using the blender. Seems to help if she thinks something is fun or gets some control over it (haven't let her use the drill yet though!). I'm also inventing a variety of happy stories associated with the monsters who she thinks are coming up the stairs (in our house, monsters make social visits (to eat chocolate), then go home (to eat chocolate)... ) Don't know where she heard about monsters from though.

Why oh why does ds cry and scream (literally) for hours a day (and sometimes night) and then be sweet and quiet at the doctor's?? It seems like there's something wrong (more than the minor infections that the gp found), but maybe he's just a bit overdramatic... (I wish I knew -- the screaming is driving me slowly mad and not doing dd any good either.)

Chaotica · 20/06/2008 18:05

to you Cazwa about sleep see last post about DS and his screaming... (No actually I'm happy for you... It can be done! )

justkeepswimming · 20/06/2008 18:14

mummy mojo has left the building

after feeling ill yesterday, sleeping badly (involving cats, live mice & my bed ), we went to normal toddler group this morning, then drove 1/2hr to the wrong place (cos dh told me the wrong place ) then to the right place to meet dh & his work colleagues who wanted to meet the boys, so kind of missed lunch
ds2 asleep in car seat, ds1 so tired almost asleep, so upstairs to bed - cue 45mins of tantrums, from both him & me . threw his toys out of his room.
gave in - ds2 awake, fireman sam.....

then a quiet few hours, managed a walk round the block.

then tea - ds1 wouldn't eat a single mouthful after dh said 'are you all done?'
we ended up at the point of eat one pea then you can go in the garden with daddy & water the tomato plants (a current fave activity) - no go.

so he's had no tea at all...dh got 5mins peace in the garden!

so dh now keeping him out of my sight til bedtime!

argh....

Chaotica · 20/06/2008 19:17

Hugs, jks -- hope you have a quiet evening.

Chaotica · 20/06/2008 19:18

(Mojo isn't here either, btw -- don't know who has it today...)

Jewelsandgems · 20/06/2008 19:33

Sorry about your test Grrrl - stupid examiner! I think that is one of the big reasons I have not started my lessons because of the test. I know I'll be shit. Saying that, DH showed me a picture of a land rover auto today, and said that if I was prepared to learn to drive, and forsake our savings, we could get that car for me (second hand - we don't have like 30k saved up!) and then get me thinking. I am especially sad on our behalf girl as you made that lovely comment about me not looking thirty, so sending out evil thoughts to that examiner ob your behalf

Oh tell me about the screaming. I think Izzy is dramatic too. She starts crying and instantly goes into full throttle, as if she's been crying for an hour instead of 2 seconds! Is this how it is going to be with her (I.E A Little Madam!)

Yes girls, I am off tp my candle party tonight. So, that means get drunk and end up buying lots of candles.

It is nice to be called glam but I am not! Just a fluke photo - noticed quite a few of your profiles are light on the photos of yourselves! Come on girls! Load em up!

Mealtimes-wise, my mum is the worst. Freya can eat a corner of a sandwich and mum brings out the chocolate. And then if I refuse her dessert, makes such a sad face at Freya, she starts crying and then, after much hugging and evil looks at me, I end up getting the bloody chocolate out!! Arrrgh! exasperated emoticon

Night girls, will have a drink and buy a candle for you all.
xxx

Cazwa · 20/06/2008 19:44

Sorry to hear you didnt pass Grrl, esp when it wasnt your fault. Hopefully its given you a bit of confidence for the next time at least.

DD wouldnt go to sleep tonight, was screaming her cot down, went up and realised there was a hardboard book underneath her sheet rigth where her back was!

JKS, know what you mean about DHs, mine was particularly annoying tonight. We all came in from the beach and I dashed off making dinner, cleaning kitchen, feeding DCs, fillign dishwasher whilst he made himself a sandwich and coffee and sat with DC watching videos on laptop. Nearly bit his head off but resisted. Got mad PMT today, hate periods. BEach was crap alos, rained as soon as we got there, DD had a tantrum the whole time as she didnt nap today (probs because of book in bed ) and DS cried constantly cos we forgot his dummy and his teeth were hurting. Sigh.

Off for a bath. Someone find the mummy mojo overnight please and hand it round xxx

justkeepswimming · 20/06/2008 20:04

right, back after half a glass of red and boys asleep so slightly calmer about life

hazeyj - hope everyone is well in your house atm?

i'm 33, dh 36, guess that puts us in the middle somewhere?

cazwa - i am so pleased for you that your LOs are sleeping SO well, no really i am! just incredibly jealous too
and such a reasonable time in the morning! we are happy if we get 6am...
just don't know what dh was thinking with his question at teatime, men hey!?!

Grrl - that seems so unfair on you i remember being told off for not using mirrors by an instructor i hated so i made almost a farce of it after that. stupid tho.
do you have to have any more lessons? can't you just apply for another test?

chaotica - soryr to hear the screaming still going. i get stressed enough with just whingeing so my sympathies.
thanks for the hugs

jewels - ooh a nice landy, i would like one of those! ok not to park tho, i'm so rubbish at parking! have fun at the party....let us know how many candles you buy!

someone has stolen the mojo!!!! hand it back whoever you are!!!

well, hopefully off to a fire station open day tomorrow for ds1 - him and me can hopefully make up and be friends again!
then a small train ride on sunday.
just hope we get lots of sleep before dh back to work on mon.
henry has actually managed to sleep through the last 2 nights! don't know how or why given the illness but hey who cares!? 7-6 is fab in this house!

right, long enough, back to the wine....

Cazwa · 20/06/2008 22:01

Can anyone recommend a nappy bag they have or tell me what system theyve got? Im an organisation freak and am struggling at the minute as my current systems are failing me.

I have a lovely nappy bag that is falling apart and I cant find a replacement. Also now I have a Phil & Teds with panniers I tend not to take a nappy bag out with me, plus it would bash off DSs head in the back seat if I hung a typical nappy bag off the top of the pram. So Im using my normal bag except now DS is weaning and on bottles and ALWAYS pooing his clothes its not big enough. So I DO need a nappy bag, sigh, for the times Im not with my pram or inside somewhere without the pram. What do you think of this one which I can clip on to the pram?

Gem, bet you have a very posh one

Chaotica · 21/06/2008 00:30

...No mojo here -- sorry: someone else must have it.

Chaotica · 21/06/2008 00:31

Like that nappy bag, btw Cazwa.

justkeepswimming · 21/06/2008 10:09

cazwa - i don't use a 'nappy bag' as such, couldn't face spending that much on a bag!
i have this (ignore use of 'diapering' please, awful word!
it fits into my handbag. i normally have 2 nappies per child in there.
i throw spare clothes in boot of car/under buggy if i remember/if they are being pukey.

ok so it doesn't really work with reusables but i'm getting lazier with them and only use them at home or if walking with buggy so can fit them in there.

re bottles - don't know about transporting them sorry!

i like the bag tho, just expensive that's all.

hazeyjane · 21/06/2008 10:52

Everybody is having a rare, sickness free week in our house, Hooray, think it must be the multivitamins I've been forcing down evryones necks.

Think I saw someone breezing through town yesterday with 2 laughing children, clean clothes, no bags under her eyes, and no 'my baby is a year old, but I'm still trying to blame her for it' tummy - I nearly screamed "Oy you've stolen the mummy mojo, give it to me now!" But realised this would make me an insane person, so stopped myself.

I don't know about a landrover, I still have fantasies about getting a 2CV when I pass my test (maybe that should be if), I'm still a scruffy student at heart.

Feel bad because dh up twice in the night with dd1, so I slept all night through (probably about the first time in a year). My mum is here for the weekend, so they have taken dd's into town, so that I can get on with some work (Ahem, I promise I will get on with someone after 5 minutes mumsnetting).

I use an old Gap bag which is crammed with nappies, snack crumbs, a 0-3 month old babygro, pens and scribbled on postit notes, its the only bag I could find which hung over the handle of the P&T's and didn't bump dd2's head. I used to use an Avent insulated bag for bottles.

If someone could tell me how to get my photos onto my profile page, I would have a photo - honest.
