Should I let my 11 month old baby sleep in this position? (photo included)

Okay, maybe I'm overthinking it, but dd has only been sleeping in that position for the last months. I didn't care before, when I placed her back correctly after she fell asleep. The problem is that lately I find her the next day in that position and some that impress me more. 😅Sometimes I find her literally sitting with her legs open and her body lying face down.

I'm not worried about her stopping breathing or something, but even though she's a flexible baby it doesn't feel like a good way to sleep. What do you guys think?

Apologies for any mistake, as English isn't my first language and thanks for reading 🙂

Does she normally sleep in a baby sleeping bag / sleep sack? Mine would be cold sleeping without covers and bare feet, it’s quite cold at the moment at night

It's been so cold in our home recently too at night! New build as well so keeps the heat in. I've had to put my heating on for an hour around bath and bedtime and then set it to come on to keep her room at 18 degrees. We are end of April and she's still in a 2.5 tog winter sleeping bag and a babygrow. Hopefully some warmer evenings are on their way!

Such a sweetie. Glad you’ve ditched the bumpers.

Arse in the air, we used to call this. My eldest DD always slept like it! Very cute.

I do have to say thanks for the memories long ago , they were good memories .

One of mine slept like that from when she was younger than 11 months, no matter how I placed her.

I used to just use the cot bumper at the top, tied firmly on the other side with no loose ties so she could get a circulation of air. She used to push her head up to the top, that's why I left just the top bumper in place.

Butwhybecause · 24/04/2024 22:52

PS And she wore a warm sleep suit with feet as she wouldn't keep covers on.

conniecon · 24/04/2024 22:53

I'd get rid of the bumpers they're a strangulation risk.

My twins who are a few months older than this, have slept in this position fof she’s and it’s fine
Her hair is amazing!

RockStarship · 24/04/2024 22:58

Awwww her little baby toes 😭

TooMuchJunkInTheTrunk · 24/04/2024 22:58

So cute. Her little feet 😍

She's adorable, though I would say that, it's like a photo taken from my baby album!!

I have another from when I was older (about 10 I think?!) wearing summer pj's in a hit country! The pj bottoms were white romper style with a sleeveless top. I look like some stray Easter Bunny and definitely wasn't cold!!

im 55 now and only stopped sometimes sleeping like that when my knees stopped working!!

Butwhybecause · 24/04/2024 23:33

What's that pink and green fabric ring hanging in the bottom left hand corner of the picture? I'd definitely get rid of that from the cot, it looks like a safety hazard.
Plus any other bits and pieces.
The bumpers look rather loose too.

But she looks very cute with her bum in the air!

Do you know what, fair enough😂 that’s the first time someone has clapped back at me and actually made me laugh!

Both of my babies slept on their tummies from birth. They slept very well. People used to be rather surprised when they looked in the pram!

Cool, so we're not allowed to support other women without being patronised. Noted.

One of the cutest things I've seen is a nursery full of toddlers sleeping in this position.
